It was the day after Roxie had tripped out in the grounds. She had met a new friend, Jonathan Halliwell, and he had helped her back to her common room, where they had chatted, and she had shown him her hamsters, and had basically got to know each other.
Then she had bid him goodbye, heading for some dinner before having an early night. She had arranged to meet Jon by the waterfall the next day, and discovered, when she woke that very morning, that her ankle was just fine. A little stiff maybe, but overall, everything was good.
The weather was warm-ish, with a few fluffy clouds in the sky. Roxie was dressed in a short pink top with no sleeves, and a pair of tiny shorts. She had a pair of pink flip-flops on her feet. Walking quickly across the short grass, she saw the waterfall come into view, and wondered if Jon was there already.
{Sorreh. Crappy. And, sorry for the god-modding. I just had to think of a place and a reason that they were both there together, so that they arranged to go there was a simple, easy thing to put. xD}

Jon was running a bit behind. He had actually been caught by an early morning visit by the lovely Max. Boy, had that been a wake-up call. Faith had set him loose on him, saying something about a picnic. He had grumbled, deciding he wanted to meet this boy soon. Afterall, the boy had managed to win Faith's heart, and he had never seen her so happy, but he still wanted to meet him. Just like he knew Faith was going to have to meet Rox one day. Afterall, they were friends, and he might have considered her as possibly something more someday...
He ran his fingers through his hair slightly, conjuring a mirror as he rushed down the steps of the castle. He finger-combed his hair into place, wishing he had grabbed his brush. He'd conjure one, but that would be too much to carry. He tapped the mirror, letting it disappear, and slowed his pace as he neared the waterfall. He saw her ahead, and he smiled, sneaking up behind her. He covered her eyes, grinning, and said softly,"Guess who..." He had a picnic lunch ready, courtesy of Faith and her quick cooking skills. So all he had to do was bring out the mini basket, tap it, say a nonverbal spell, and it would grow to lifesize with the food inside. It was a genious spell, really...

Roxie heard Jon's voice, and recognized it instantly, jumping a little in surprise. She didn't turn around, however, but spoke herself, a smile spreading across her face. "Let's think about that one... Is he dark haired? Yes? Has he got... kind, smiling blue-y eyes? Yes? Is he a nice guy?" She turned to face him. "I'd say... damn yes. I knew it was you." She laughed.
Roxie walked closer to the waterfall, turning away but motioning for Jon to follow her. She stopped near the crystal clear, rippling pool, and turned back to Jon with a grin. "Here?" she asked, eyebrows raised.

He laughed and said,"Well, that just takes all the fun out of it. Maybe next time I'll have to become and Animagus or something." He grinned, following her. "It's perfect." He pulled the tiny picnic basket out of his pocket, tapping it to let it grow to its original size. He set it on the ground after magicking a blanket up, and offered his hand to help her sit. Hey, he was a gentleman at all times, if he could help it.

"What, and scare me out of my wits when I turn around to see some massive beast creeping up on me in the middle of the day? No thank you, Jonathan Halliwell, no thank you!" Roxie teased with another little laugh. "What do you think your Animagus animal would be, anyhow? I'm thinking a bear..."
She smiled as he approved of her choosing, and replied, "That it is, that it is." Then she took his hand and sat down, only to grasp his hand and pull him down swiftly next to her, grinning cheekily.
"Wow!" she exclaimed happily. "What's in the basket? I didn't see you bring it with you, come to think of it. And I'm sure you couldn't fit it into your pocket!" She laughed again as if the idea was positively ludicrous.

He laughed and said,"Actually, it's not." He grinned and said,"I started working on it a few years ago. I actually become a White Tiger." He smiled, letting out a laugh as he said,"It made it a helluva lot harder to transform and not scare the muggles." He grinned and shrugged. "But I like it. In fact, I love it..."
He laughed as he was pulled down next to her, landing a little softer as he softened the blow by twisting slightly to the side. Hey, it was better than a direct hit, and it was aimed more for his thigh. He grinned and said,"Ah, but I did." He laughed and said,"It's a spell I found that can shrink things, and I shrunk it to fit into my pocket. Now everything's back to normal..." He grinned, opening the lid.
"Now, I hope you like the selection..." He allowed her to look inside. There wwere brownies for desert, and there was lemonade and water to drink. There was a fettucine alfredo for the main dish, still hot from where he had cooked it. A few spells came in handy in that area. There was also napkins and forks and spoons and such. There was vanilla ice cream to go with the brownies, bowls, and all of that stuff. There was also chili queso with tortilla chips for the appetizer. It was a mix of chili and cheddar cheese, actually a very delicious dish, and it was still piping hot from the skillet.

"You're an Animagus? Cool! How wicked is that?" Roxie said in a slightly (just slightly xD) amazed voice. "And you wouldn't want to scare the Muggles because...?" She laughed. "If I could do that - and get away with it, of course - I'd go about roaming the streets like it!"
When he described how he had bought down the basket, she looked relatively shocked, but said, "Eh, well. Why didn't I just guess that you were going to go and say that?" Roxie smiled. "I shouldn't underestimate magic, I really shouldn't..."
She pulled herself up onto her knees, and peered into the basket curiously. "Wow. I was expecting limp sandwiches and salad... This is awesome. Are you a cook, then? Everything looks reall delicious... Even though I've probably never tried any of it before. Well, now I get a chance, right?"
{Bleh, rambleramble, bleh. xD}

He grinned and said,"Yeah, I would've, but then they would have tried to capture me and put me in a zoo or something!" He laughed and said,"That didn't sound too terribly fun to me..." He shrugged and said,"But, yeah, it's pretty cool. Can come in handy, I suppose, too..."
He grinned and said,"Yeah. You shouldn't. You'd be amazed at just how much it can really do..."
He smiled and said,"Yeah, of sorts, but Faith's the better cook of us two... She helped me, seeing as I was running short of time. Being Head Boy is more trouble than I thought!" He shrugged, pretending to heave a huge sigh, before he broke into a grin. "Yeah, you get a chance..."
He pulled out the chili queso and opened the lid, opening the bag of chips. "This is called chili queso. It's very good. Chili and cheese, and you just dip some up on the chip. Perfect appetizer... We'll try the rest in order..." He pulled out the lemonade and water and set them down, getting out two glasses. He then poured himself a glass of lemonade, raising his eyebrows at her in a question of what she wanted. Then he grabbed a chip and dipped it in the queso, making a 'mmmm' noise. He grinned at her as he swallowed it.

"Yeah, but then you'd just start banging away on the bars screaming. 'I'M TRAPPED! I'M TRAAAAAAPED!' Until they let you out." Roxie shrugged. "But this conversation is strange, so... yeah." She smiled.
"Your sister? Cool. I can't cook at all, apart from decorating fairy cakes, and my sister burns things, although I gotta admit; she is better than me at that." She shrugged again. "Oh, yeah, I forgot you were Head Boy... That seems so responsible and grown-up..." She giggled. "I'm still a little girl. I think I might go in for a Prefect, actually... What duties and stuff do you have to do?"
"It looks nice. I'll have water, please, if I can." Roxie followed Jon's lead and picked up a chip and dipped it. Raising it to her mouth, she made the mistake of biting into it instead of swallowing most of it like Jon had. A blob of the queso dropped onto her chin, some more landing on her hand that she was holding underneath the chip.
She frozen for a second, looked at Jon and burst out laughing, stuffing the rest of the chip in her mouth and asked him for a napkin, trying to stifle laughs at the same time as not letting the queso drip anywhere else.
{That's just what I'd do...}

He grinned and said,"True... And burn things? Ah. I used to be like that... Eventually I got better, after many trials and major errors." He made a face, eating another chip. "And yeah, it's a bit of work. Basically, you just make sure everyone follows the rules, sticks to curfew unless they have a pass, doesn't have anything they're not supposed to... Stuff like that." He shrugged.
He grinned, holding back a laugh as she dropped it all over her hands. He grabbed a few napkins, wiping it off of her hands. He then wiped it off of her chin, laughing a little and grinning the whole while. He then set the napkins down on a paper towel and sat there grinning, eyes sparkling with held-back laughter. He ate another chip, just looking into her eyes. "That better?" he managed to ask after swallowing the chip.

"I don't even bother to try and cook any more. Well, not until I've mastered the Aguamenti charm, anyway..." Roxie waved her wand meekly, saying the spell, but only a single drop of water left her wand, falling and landing on the blanket. She shrugged, and slightly sadly watched the stop disappear as it sank into the material. "Oh well."
"I guess I could do that," she replied, nodding thoughtfully and thinking about the duties. She was sure she would be able to do it. Do it much better than Scarlet, anyway.
Roxie went to take the napkin, but grinned as Jon used it to wipe it off her hands himself, her pale, blue-green eyes glancing down at his hands, her light lashes fluttering slightly and brushing against the pale skin of her face. When he wiped at her chin, she giggled again and said, "Much, much better... Thank you." She smiled, looking straight back.

He grinned and said,"I have faith that you'll master it someday. Someday soon, too." He smiled, eating another chip after dipping it into the queso. He nodded and said,"Yes, I know you can do it."
He ate another, smiling and saying,"Good." He then scooped up more queso onto a chip and put his hand under it, moving it towards her. "Open wide," he said with a grin.

"Well, then," Roxie said. "-you know more about me than I do."
She watched as he got another chip, her head tilting as it came toward her. "What are you-" She was cut off as Jon told her to open wide. Doing so, she leaned forward, pink lips open, and grinned, feeling an urge to laugh.
{BLEH.}
