She nodded, chocolate curls bouncing against her shoulders. "I won't...I promise" She watched him silently, now she had made him edgy. She was making this kid feel a lot of emotions now. Akward, nervous, edgy...what next. She got up and walked the two steps that he was away from her. She leaned down, grabbed his hand and put the glass of water into it. Chocolate eyes looking into his for a momment.
"Im sorry" She nodded and walked back over to her bench. She sat down and picked up her glass. Flicked her wand and filled it again, she tipped it back and drank a few sips. She put her legs up on the seat, and leaned her head against the opposite armrest. The sun shining down on her face, she closed her eyes. Absorbing its heat, in some ways, Ash was like her cat Garfeild. Loved to just lay around. Even though she was constantly moving, when she did actually stop fidgeting, she would be quite still. She held her breath, counting in her head, testing herself. She was a swimmer and liked to see how long she can hold it for. Black lashes rested on her cheeks as a flush started to go over the pale fawn colour. 25..26..27..She counted.
Finally her eyes opened, as she breathed in. "A minute and 15 seconds...getting better" she murmmered to herself. Then she remembered Serphius just a few paces away. Heh, he probably really thought she was off her rocker now. She smiled heisitantly.

When Ashlei grabbed his hand, Serphius involentarily tensed up again, and he fought hard not to yank it from her grasp. She didn't know. It wasn't her fault.
"Don't apollogise," He said quietly, "'S alright. So why do you need to hold your breath?" Serphius tolted his head, curious, "Do you swim, or is it just a hobby?

She laughed softly, "It would be a rather odd hobby, holding your breath, I swim"Her eyes closed again, as she closed her mouth, and a deep breath made her chest raise. Then she held it, counting in her head again. The familliar flush started to raise up into her cheeks again. 28...29..30. Her foot started tapping the stone as she strained. Her fingers curled and grasped at her blue skirt. Her eyes opened and a triumphent whoop was released.
"I got to 2 minutes that time" She bounced a little, the flush started to drain away. As her breathing regulated again. She smiled, "Do you swim?" She asked, chocolate gaze locked on him.

Did he swim? Why yes, he did. He liked to swim, particularly when it was late at night, and he couldn't sleep. He didn't like to swim when it was busy.
"Yeah, sometimes," Serphius said, nodding slightly. He gave a small smirk at he triumphant whoop.

She smiled and sat, perching on her knees and leaning on the armrest. "You should come swimming with me sometime" She brought her hand up and brushed her chocolate curls back into a ponytail, with an elastic that was around her wrist. The smaller layers of her hair fell forward in little curls. Framing her face.
Ash looked up as she heard a bird trill high above. As it took off from a hedge, and flew upwards. She saw how it flew gracefully, freely. Spiralling upward, before shooting off in another direction. She looked back down and wiggled her eyebrows quite comically. One raising then lowering, just in time as the other one rose. She laughed at her own antics, even if he didn't.
It was late afternoon now. The sun lower in the sky, and it's hot breath not directly over them. Dew had collected on the sides of the glasses of water, she ran a finger down the cool edge.Making a line through the water droplets. A softer smile then any before fluttered at the corners of her peachy lips. Ashlei was always amused by the complications, yet simplicity of nature.

No. Way. Never, never, never.
"Yeah, mabye. That'd be cool..."
Serphius chewed on his lip. Well, it would have been rude to turn her down flat.
"So do you swim often then? I do, sort of. Usually when I can't sleep...Well, that'd be more often than not," He laughed, "I'm not a big sleeper, y'see..."

"Thats because of the evil suffocating mattresses" She said, laughing softly. "My brother calls me fish, I swim whenever I get a chance" A breeze gently tugged at her loose tendrils of chocolate hair.
"So you only swim at night? Well, I suppose less of a crowd eh?" She said, chocolate eyes sparkling with laughter. To think, a few minutes ago this kid was staring at her quite hostilely. It was still there in his eyes and movements, but at least it didn't look like he was going to run away scared. She leaned on the armrest, hands clasped together.
She suddenly glanced at her wrist. A silver muggle watch was delicatly clasped there, its links engraved with little designs, and the face a lovely shade of lavender. "Oh my...I'm afraid that we have missed dinner" She laughed at the thought. Then again, dinner was supposed to start about 20 mins after she had first gone out here. Then she had started talking to Serphius. Now it had been over for at least 15 minutes. Maybe the food was still there.

Serphius struggled to his feet, a slight grin playing on his lips. He glanced at his watch, a simple one with a black leather strap, and a plain silver face, with an abnormal amount of hands, "Oh my indeed. Well, we'll have to be quick then, won't we?"
Serphius held out his hand, indicating that she should lead the way.
"I'm sure we'll make it."

She smiled and started walking. "Oh I hope so, I'm starving now that I think of it" She walked a few steps ahead, then looked over her shoulder at the black dressed boy. Ash realized, that she had been right. He was like a shadow.
"Coming?" She asked.

Serphius gave Ashlei the smallest of small smiles.
"Of course, I'm right behind you. I'm not going to run away as soon as you turn your back, you know..." He said, with a little laugh, "And anyway, I'm ravinous too. I havn't eaten anything today."
(Are we going to make a board in the hall?)

Her smiled widened. He had smiled, and laughed. She had accomplished getting him to do those two things he had seemed uncappable of earlier. "Good, too many people do that" She let him catch up and fall into stride with her. As she walked to the dining hall with him.
O.o.c// Yup yup

Serphius had been silent for the whole walk to the Courtyard, painfully aware of Ashlei's eyes on him all the way. They emerged into the gradually fading light, as the sun was slowly starting to make it's way towards the horizon.
Serphius sank onto a near by bench, arms crossed tightly, eyes cast downwards. He looked calmer, now that there was so much noise, or people, or food. He glanced up at Ashlei, and bit his lip.

Ashlei sunk onto the ground in front of him. Sitting on her knees, her skirt neatly folded under her thighs. One of her eyebrows oh so delicatly arched. Now he just looked worried, rather then emotional and mental breakdown. In the hall she swore he was about to have a fit. "Y'know that is really cute, how you bite your lip" She said laughing. "My little brother does it too" Ash was thinking of Kai, he did it when he got stressed or worried.
"So what was that all about, you were cringing and stuttering as if someone was cursing you" She blinked her innocent chocolate gaze, watching him silently. She hadn't sat beside him, because she had learned that he didn't like physical contact at all. Not even someone just grazing him. Last time she had been sitting on the bench, this time he would. Ash would sit on the ground. She flicked her brown curls over her shoulder as she waited an answer. Her eyebrow going back to its comical raised perch.
