"Of course you won't. And it's nice to know someone in my own house, y'know?" She returned his smile, but suddenly slapped herself on the forehead. "Damn! I forgot to feed Happy and Sleepy..." She also seemed to forget that Jon would surely think she was crazy if she believed that she had to feed two fat little dwarfs from a Disney movie.
Oh well.
She pulled herself awkwardly to her feet, before limping over to a table beneath one of the large windows. On it were two cages. She picked the one on the right, lightly whipping open the little metal door and, picking up a little box of food, shook some of the contents into the animals' cage.
Roxie turned back to Jon, smiling. She gestured toward the cage. "Dwarf hamsters."

He grinned and said,"YEah." When she mentioned forgetting to feed Happy and Sleepy, he raised an eyebrow. His question was answered, however, as she gestured to the cages and said they were dwarf hamsters. "Ah. I was wondering what you were talking about... I mean, I was pretty sure that you weren't talking about the dwarfs from Snow White..." He grinned at her.

Roxie laughed. "The other cage has my brother's mouse in it. Minnie. No, honestly, that's her name!"
She went back to the sitting area, this time sitting on the large sofa opposite the fire.

He laughed and said,"How original. I suppose it could have been worse." He smiled, joining her on the sofa. He stared into the fire for a moment before he said,"So what's it like here?"

"Yeah... Original... Hi." She added the last bit in a slightly startled fashion as he seated himself next to her.
Roxie watched his face closely, staring at him as he stared into the fire. She saw his lips move, but didn't really take any of it in. She snapped back to reality, tearing her eyes from him and replying, "Huh? Oh, erm, here? The school? It's fine. Sometimes, in the holidays, it gets quite boring, but I love to go out and explore the grounds. Or I sometimes stay inside and try and find secret passageways. So far I've found... None." She grinned.

He grinned at her somewhat startled expression.
He felt her eyes on him, but he didn't realize she was staring, else he would have felt a little confused. But he looked at her as she spoke, just missing her staring act. "Boring during the holidays? No, it can't be. I'm not bored." He smiled at her and said,"Haven't found any yet? Well, we might have to see about that..." He grinned.

"Oh, I'm not bored now..." Roxie's eyes widened slightly as he said that last bit, she she sat up straighter next to him, looking up. "Why? Do you know any?" She sounded slightly excited, and pleased.

He grinned and said,"Let's just say that I've known some people who have come through here... They said there are secret passages, they just didn't tell me where precisely... But with the right books and such, I'm sure we could find them in no time." He winked at her.

"Wow! You're so... You know! I've looked for passages for ages... and you're going to help me! Right?" Roxie grinned up at him, eyes sparkling happily. Then she gave him a playful prod on the arm. "Hey, I thought you said you didn't know many people..."

He grinned and said,"Yes, I'm going to help you." He raised a brow at the prod on his arm and said,"I don't know anyone who goes here now, but my father and mother used to go here when they were in school. They told me about them when I was little, but they never told me where they were..." He shrugged and said,"But we'll find them!"

"Thanks," Roxie smiled, and gave him a small hug on the arm. Sh listened to him speak before replying with a grin, "Ah... I get you... Yeah. We'll find them! We make a perfect team. Two brains are better than one."

He grinned and said,"Yeah, we make the perfect team." He smiled and said,"So are there any little secrets I need to know about the school besides secret passageways?"

Roxie thought for a second, before speaking and giving Jonathan an answer. "I don't think so. Not that I remember... Just watch out for that root outside." She gestured to her ankle. "That's the one that got me."
