Biography: The Danvers were born to a witch and a wizard who joined two powerful families with a marriage. Cal Danvers was the only remaining descendent of the Danvers family, an old and powerful line that had survived ages. Kate Lockhart was from the main branch of the Lockhart line, possessing most of their wealth and prestige. An intelligent couple, they were very well-matched, though they would never have seen it without a little help... Their marriage was not a choice of their own -- it was arranged. Somehow, the two managed to find something good in that coice. They fell in love, and finally they decided to provide their families with an heir. To them, in total, seven children were born.
Their firstborn was a boy; Reid Velkan, who was to inherit most everything. To him fell the responsibility of upholding the family name, power, and honor. He was to inherit the Danvers main castle in Bulgaria, a greater portion of the wealth, and of course the family's greatest heirloom - a secret that is told from father to son at the age of 19. Time is fast approaching, and Reid is more interested in girls and Quidditch than he is in his father's family. The question is, can Reid straighten up and live up to his destiny?
Caleb and Kate's second son, Aerich Danlen, was born only 8 months later. He was born early, and they feared the worst, but he made it through. He would inherit the Danvers castle in Ireland, which was their secondary home. He would get an equal amount of the wealth that was to be split amongst the remaining children. Being in the same year as Reid, he has to deal with the nicknames, being second-best, and always being compared to his older brother. Can Aerich rise above everything and push aside his doubts, or will he succomb to being a failure?
The third Danvers child was a twin, Aerich's to be exact. Joseph Krystian was born a few minutes after Aerich, and he was a surprise in himself. They had not known Kate was carrying twins, so when they were holding him, they were pretty shocked themself. They had three sons by now, and little did they know that more would be on the way soon. Joe was to inherit the Danvers castle in Italy, which was smaller than the one in Bulgaria, but almost equal in size to Aerich's inheritance. He received the same amount of wealth that Aerich would. Surprisingly enough, he was not shadowed by either of his older brothers. Outgoing and fun, he was accepted by nearly everybody, and so he managed to keep himself above the water. Where Aerich had issues at school, Joe had issues at home, where he was rarely there for his family because of his own problems. Can Joseph pull it together and keep himself strong for his family, or will he fall and fail them completely?
The fourth Danvers child was another boy, Vance Patrick, was born 8 months after Aerich and Joe, two months early. He was very sickly until the age of three, when he finally improved. They were afraid he would not make it many times, but somehow he managed to stay alive. He was yet another twin, though this time they had their first girl. He was born mere minutes before her, but he would constantly remind her when she started to annoy him. Vance would inherit the Lockhart main castle in Ireland and an equal portion of the wealth, as they all would. Vance, unlike the others, was more neglected for reasons he shares with no ones. His own issues and emotions cloud his judgement, and he often loses sight of what truly matters. Can Vance get through his emotional problems and finally open up to someone?
The fifth Danvers child was the very first girl. Miley Keira was born minutes after her twin, Vance. She was the complete opposite of her twin, so healthy that the doctors were surprised themselves. Over time, it was seen that these two were not like Aerich and Joe. The first set of twins were very close, though they looked nothing alike. They had some similar interests, if different fashion senses, but Vance and Miley were not like that. These two were almost complete opposites. Their only similar trait was their love of all things intelligent. They rarely saw eye to eye, and truly Vance was closer to Aerich and Joe than he was to his own twin. Miley struggled with trying to live up to her mother's reputation, trying to be the best sister, student, and everything else. It was hard, and it was only a matter of time before she fell; and she didn't know who would catch her. Can Miley live up to her mother's reputation as one of the smartest witches of her age while also trying to be the 'mom' of the family?
The sixth Danvers child was Hope Jayla, who was adamant about being called Jayla. She was a whole lot of drama poured in and combined with pep and energy. Basically, she was the witch equivalent of a muggle cheerleader captain. Honestly, the others were afraid of her at times. Her weakness, you ask? Mornings. She hated them. At any rate, she was to inherit the Danvers castle in Scotland, which was the smallest they owned. Or, at least the ones that her father had inherited. The others belonged to her grandparents and such, which was fine with all of them. But underneath Jayla's act, she was very much insecure and hurting. She had grown up without a mother, and try as Miley might, she just wasn't the same. Can she stop pretending that everything's okay and just let someone catch her when she's falling instead of trying so desperately to hold onto the edge?
The seventh, and last, Danvers child to be born was Charity Theresa, who was the spitting image of her mother. She was beautiful and sweet, intelligent and kind. To the family, she was a miracle that could not have been any sweeter, and all of them would have killed anyone that would have dared to lay a hand on her. She would inherit the Lockhart castle in Scotland, which made her very happy. Of course, the only reason was that her best friend lived in Scotland, and it would work out well for the two of them. What could possibly be a problem for Charity, you ask? She is so young and innocent, that she usually sees the best in people and completely misses the worst, but she has her own fears in life and has troubles overcoming them. Can Charity overcome her fears and find her own identity away from her family, or will she forever be the little sister that can't defend herself?
Life for the Danvers was pretty normal, up until Reid was 6. You see, his mother loved to ride horses, and after a while she finally got to ride, no longer being pregnant and all that. So she had been riding a horse with Vance and Joseph there with her, and they had been staring at it with wide eyes and laughing and clapping. Reid was with his father and younger siblings, taking care of them and playing, wrestling. They had been having a picnic. Well, his mother had been riding when they horse got spooked, reared, and knocked her off. She hit her head on the rocks as she went flying, tumbling over the small cliff to land in the water, where she drowned.
Things were never the same. His father became much more distant, though he relied heavily on Reid, Aerich, and Joseph to take care of Miley, Jayla, and Charity. Vance... He was forgotten in his fathers eyes, really, and Reid and the others didn't notice for a few years. Somehow, they made it, and they were all entered into school. Reid was popular there, and at the age of 16 he found himself changing his ways for a beautiful girl who had managed to capture his heart. Sadly, things were not meant to stay that way. He found her cheating on him, and from that moment on he promised himself not to make a commitment with a girl. No strings attached, no getting hurt, right?
After a year of this, he ended up finding the process becoming a habit, and it was soon just something he did unconsciously. Flings were how he lived and breathed. Attending Hogwarts, there were plenty of people there willing to satisfy his desires, so he never ran out of girls. But halfway through his seventh year, his father transferred them to Beauxbatons, saying that they needed to go somewhere else. He didn't ask why, they just did what he said. If they didn't, well, it wasn't too pretty. Once arriving, they all went their separate ways, though they ended up meeting together at the same time on occasion just to see each other again.
Personality: Conceited. Basically, Reid thinks that he is just the greatest man ever. He thinks he has the best looks, the best smile, can get any woman, etc., and he never lets anyone tell him differently. He constantly makes comments such as "oh, you just WISH you were as hot as me", which can get pretty old after a while. He never doubts himself, especially with girls. When there's a girl around, he's onto her and already flirting like crazy. Of course, when there are multiple women, he prefers to show off so that he can flirt with them all at once, then he will go around and spend time with each of them individually. He thinks most people are beneath him, and he always puts himself in the spotlight.
Confident. Nerves? What are those. He has plenty of confidence to spare, much less the number of people he could give it to that would put it to better use than he. If there's a pretty girl, he's not shy. He'll walk -- or perhaps strut would be a better word -- over to her and introduce himself while also asking her if she'd like a drink and showing off his good looks and charm. Single or not, he doesn't care, and if the boyfriend shows up -- let's just say he'd be willing to fight his way out of it if necessary, and he would never lose either! Well, in his mind at least. If he does lose, he would look good doing it. Some envy him, but he tries to be modest -- and fails miserably. He is so far from modest, there are no words fit to describe it...
Competitive. Reid loves competition. Period. Of any kind, too. If it can be done, it's a competition to him. Be it schoolwork, eating, sports, or even sleeping, you can rest assured that Reid has participated in some form of a competition for it. In his book, where there's a will, there's a way. He also sees women as a form of competitiveness. He will compete with any other guy out there to win a date with the girl, but of course he never stays long. He's always looking, and he has been known to date multiple girls at the same time. Always the same story, just different characters and lines. He comes up with an excuse as to why they have to keep it quiet, and then he dates multiple girls, and mostly the ones that don't talk to each other.
Courageous. Reid has a lot of courage, especially to do the things he does. Quidditch, stealing girls from their boyfriends, sneaking out with a girl, jumping from burning buildings for the heck of it... You name it, and he's probably done it. Well, except for dying. Yeah, he's not there yet. But he doesn't hesitate to take a bet. To him, a bet is a challenge, and he never chickens out of a challenge. Of course, in his eyes, he never loses as well unless it involved the other getting an unfair advantage or something. You know that philosophy, "no pain no gain"? That is basically Reid's motto. To him, pain is nothing, or at least that's what he says. Really, when no one's looking, he'll be doing the usual signals of pain and such. He has to appear tough, you know. Images to keep up and all that.
Carefree. He rarely cares about much of anything, unless it is his family or friends. It's just how he is. He doesn't worry or stress over anything. He's always laid-back and relaxed, content to just let whatever happens happen. Reid will be the one sleeping through an earthquake, sitting on the roof during a thunderstorm, and sleeping in class. It takes a lot to strike his temper. In fact, he has rarely ever lost his temper at all, which might be hard to believe. He has a very long fuse, which makes him very slow to anger. Of course, he still gets frustrated easily and hurt just as easily. He has yet to truly fall for a girl, but if he were to actually fall for one, he would fall hard. Were she taken from him, well, he would never be the same...
Cool, Calm, and Collected. Reid just doesn't lose his cool. Ever. Well, that's what it seems like to most. His almost non-existant temper helps him out in this department, but of course he is human. He loses it just like everybody else, only his happens a little less than most. With six younger siblings, you have to wonder how on earth he can keep his cool, but really it's from how peaceful his childhood was. There wasn't any real tragedies... Well, at least until Charity was born. Up until then, life was perfect, or so it seemed. After that, he had to be the big brother and help take care of his siblings. He had to kind of shrug off any anger with them and just deal with it so he wouldn't upset them. It wasn't easy, but it worked for him pretty well.
Physical Appearance: In one word? Sexy. He is nicely tanned and stands at about 6'1", weighing in at a decent weight for his height and body style, which is muscle with very little fat. Because of one of his favorite pasttimes, he is even stronger. He loves to dance, so why not breakdance and help his body out at the same time. Plus, he can impress the ladies. Extra bonus. He has deep, gorgeous green eyes and dark brown hair that he usually keeps styled short. And boy does he dress to impress, not even caring if he shows off those arms or his abs at every chance he gets. He has no tattoos or piercings, which suits him well. Hey, he doesn't need them.
Normally, he can be caught in a simple t-shirt and jeans, which are often cordiroy or something of the sort. He almost always has his black leather jacket handy. Sometimes he does have a faint stubble, but he is always shaving. He likes to keep himself cleanshaven and ready to go. With all that confidence, you'd think the girls just fall in line, huh? Well, they do, but there's much more to him than just a sexy body and a pretty face. Under the surface, he's far from shallow and definitely not uncaring. He had insecurities like the rest, though they are kept hidden within his mind, not under his clothes seeing as they rarely last all that long anyways with girls.
