"So do I. I might need to start wearing glasses... And that, right there, would be a tragedy in itself." Braeden looked positively horrified at his thought, but still had the shadow of a smile on his features.
"Watch out, lady," he said as a reaction to Elizabeth finishing the beer. "If you keep drinking the stuff that fast, there's not going to be any left for me, now is there?" He tipped his bottle up, eyes still on her, and drank half of it with several large gulps.
"So it would," Adeline replied, smiling and taking another sip from her more-than-half-empty glass. "Much more manly, hm?" She looked up at him, smiling again and straightening his shirt a little. "Much more." The last part was murmured, almost inaudible.

She laughed and said,"Oh yes. It would be such a tragedy..." At his next comment, she grinned and said,"Now why in the world would I want to do that?" Just to add to the teasing and such going on, she drained the rest of the beer and got yet another. She was beginning to feel the effects, and she was completely relaxed by now. Her accent became ever-so-slightly slurred. She was moving towards drunk, but it would be some time yet before she reached that area.
Darien laughed and said,"Oh, yes. Much more manly." He grinned and looked as she straightened his shirt. He took another sip and said,"Now, where were we?" He gently kissed her forehead.

Braeden drained the rest of his own, as well. "I have no idea. Maybe you're just cruel, hm?" He chose another randomly, placing the old empty bottle on the table, near his other. He wouldn't start to feel that different until he had drank about three and a half, maybe four. After that... oh, his words would slur, he'd have to hang onto a wall or table to stand up, and he'd surely do something he'd regret.
But he wasn't thinking about that right then.
Adeline turned her bright eyes up to meet Darien's and, draining her glass with a few large gulps, placed it on a nearby surface, wrapping her now empty-handed arms around his neck. She glanced down for a second, before back up, and said, "I don't know... Where were we?" This small bit of speech was coupled with a sweet smile.

Where the hell was Adeline?! The young woman had been searching for the Headmistress for several minutes now, and she wasn't in her own office, any of the other teachers' offices - there had been no answer from any of them when Emilia knocked - and The Hall of Snow was deserted.
There was only one more place to look; the Staff Room.
Emilia stumbled down the hall, clad in heavy jeans, a jumper and a long overcoat. Her hair, which was slightly wet, was tied up messily in a pony tail, half of the hair in question free and over her face. Nearing the Staff Room, music reached her ears, as well as chatting and many a laugh.
So. They were having a party. She wasn't even properly dressed! Here she was, having come after dropping in an application for a job, and the teachers were busy partying. Well, knowing Adeline, it would be fun. Maybe the Headmistress would have a dress she could wear?
Opening the door, Emilia was slightly shocked as it banged back against the wall. The noise alerted Adeline, who was looking pretty cosy with a man near the drinks table, smiling up at him with her arms around his neck. She turned her head, and a wide grin spread across her features. She rushed towards Emilia, and the two shared a hug.
Emilia began to talk quickly in Italian, starting with, "Ciao, Adeline! Come siete?" Adeline replied in the same language, "Sono buono, grazie! Perchè siete qui?"
"Sono qui per un lavoro! Il vostro italiano è realmente buono, a proposito," Emilia replied, nodding vigorously.
"Sarei felice di dargli un lavoro! E, grazie! Ho imparato mólto l'ultima volta che eravate qui." Adeline finished, and the women stared at each other for a second, before breaking out in laughter and hugging again. They were old friends, and had even worked together for a while, very briefly.
{Translations:
"Ciao, Adeline! Come siete?" = "Hello, Adeline! How are you?"
"Sono buono, grazie! Perchè siete qui?" = "I am good, thank you! Why are you here?"
"Sono qui per un lavoro! Il vostro italiano è realmente buono, a proposito." = "I am here for a job! Your Italian is really good, by the way."
"Sarei felice di dargli un lavoro! E, grazie! Ho imparato mólto l'ultima volta che eravate qui." = "I would be happy to give you a job! And, thanks! I learned a lot the last time you were here."
So sorry if some of this is wrong. xD I used a translator, SO BLAME THAT.}

She laughed and said,"Maybe. I suppose we'll just have to see..." She winked at him. She was becoming flirtier by the second. She was definitely on her way towards the slurred words and total drunkenness. But it would still be another beer or two before the effects were fully revealed.
She sipped on this one, eventually making it to the last gulp, and opened another. Her words were more slurred now, but not too terribly noticable. She smiled up at him and said,"I'm all for saying 'to hell with it' tonight. I plan on leaving this party smashed, and I believe I'm getting there already." She took a gulp of the new beer.
He laughed and said,"That's a very good question, but I believe I asked you first..." He smiled, giving her a quick kiss before she hurried away. He watched her, finishing off his drink and setting it on the table. He waited for her to come back, smiling at the two women.

Brae raised an eyebrow, and couldn't stifle the bark of laughter that left his lips. "Really? Alright then, I suppose we will..." He tilted back his bottle, and drank half of it, coughing a little and noting how fast she actually was emptying these bottles. "Merlin, 's not a race, is it?"
He looked a little surprised, as if he really thought it was and, without waiting for Elizabeth's answer, spoke again. "Well, I should better be getting a move on then!" He was vaguely aware that what he had just said didn't make much sense, and really couldn't care less.
Braeden finished his own bottle, taking a little time to choose another, squinting to read the labels, before simply grabbing one and popping the top off, taking a strangely small sip of it. "I am very much up for it also," he said. "And will you be planning on leaving this party alone, by any chance?" Man, he couldn't believe he'd just said that. That was definitely the alcohol talking, as he reassured himself that she would know, if it registered in her slightly drunken mind at all.
{I do believe I shall post for Adeline in the next post, along with dear Emilia. =D}

Adeline led Emilia back to Darien, and - to Emilia's delight - the drink table, now chatting to each other, thankfully, in English. "A party, Adeline? Do you have any clothes I could possibly borrow? It just started raining, so my hair's a mess and everything..." She was glad as the other woman replied with a nod of the head.
"Ah, this is Darien," Adeline said, motioning to the Care of Magical Creatures teacher with her now-filled champagne glass, taking a sip. "We're together." She smiled, and Emilia returned one, holding out a hand to Darien.
"My name is Emilia Barbiero," she introduced herself, with a nod and hand shake. She then continued, now speaking to Adeline, "God, Del, do you remember the last time we were at a party together?"
Adeline's eyes widened slightly, and she grinned. "Wow, I haven't heard 'Del' for a while... Of course I remember! You got up on a table in the middle of the pub, totally smashed, like, and tried to sing 'I Will Always Love You', with dance moves, to impress that guy from the bar... Did you manage it, though, Emi? I don't remember much after that..."
"I haven't heard 'Emi' for an age, either, come to think of it... And, no, I didn't. Don't you remember his wife chucking us out?" Emilia said this with a laugh. "As it turned out, she was the owner of the pub... Oh well, I never had liked that place much, anyway... And it does make a pretty funny story..."
"Yeah, it does..." Adeline thought for a moment, before remembering something. "Ah! Right, if you go into the ladies toilets right there," She indicated toward a door. "you'll see cupboards on the very inside. They have clothes in, just a couple of dresses and jeans and stuff, in case anybody ever needs to change."
"You're a dear, Del," Emilia said with a smile, blowing her a playful kiss and disappearing into the bathrooms. Adeline turned back to Darien, and said, "Now, where WERE we?" She grinned, and started suddenly as the song from 'Titanic' came on, playing slightly softer than everything else that had been on. "I rather think that I should try out that new-found ability to dance that I apparently have... With you, of course."
{Cliche, I know, but come on... xD}

She laughed and said,"Well, I suppose it is..." She smiled, managing to finish half the bottle in a short amount of time. She sipped from the last half.
"Well, that depends, Mr. Andrews... I suppose my level of sobriety would control that..." She finished that bottle, moving on to the next. Her words were getting very slurred. Give it one or two more, and she'd be a goner...
He smiled and shook her hand, saying,"Darien Edwards. A pleasure." He then listened to them speaking, grabbing another glass of wine. Hey, why not? It worked for him, and the beer was a bit farther away than he liked.
He then set it down as she suggested dancing and grinned at her. "Well, I suppose one dance couldn't hurt..." He took her hand and led her to an empty part of the room, slipping his other hand around her waist. He smiled at her, lacing his fingers through hers as he raised their hands, and he started to dance along with the music.

"Well th-" Brae was cut of a little as he choked slightly on a gulp of beer. "Ahem, AHEM. Like I was ssaying, ahnyway... I rather think you should drhink some more, thhen!" His own words were becoming slurred, as he noticed with a frown.
He took a small sip of the newly opened beer, hicoughing a little and nearly spilling the thing everywhere. "I am! Drinking more, I mean..." He gulped away at the bottle, leaning on the table slightly and glancing about the room. "What a lovely banner... I must have misshed seeing that when I first came in..." What was he muttering to himself about?
Taking Darien's hand, Adeline felt a little jab of nervousness in her stomach. Why had she suggested dancing, of all things? She was sure she'd trip, now she thought about it. But, no. As long as she concentrated, everything would be just fine.
Right... what was it that Darien had taught her again? One step, two step... No, oops, that wasn't right... Adeline stumbled a little against him, fully aware that she was doing the wrong thing, and that it was those glasses of champagne that were making her do it. She then started thinking about falling asleep in his office - how she wished it hadn't been sleeping he had been doing in there... Oh dang, more alcohol talking... - and then the awful dream...
Adeline came back to her senses when she tripped again, her ankle slipping sideways. She felt a jab of pain shoot up this said ankle, and her face went suddenly hot as she blushed furiously, embarrassed at all the mistakes she was so obviously making. He must think she was stupid... they had only started dancing today... or was it yesterday? The day before? Stuff it Adeline couldn't remember... Still, feeling ashamed, she did the only thing that came to mind to distract Darien from her sure-to-be drunken-looking dancing: a hasty, rushed kiss.
And that's what she did. One hand, the one that had been previously on his shoulder, jumped to the back of his neck as she pushed her lips to his, tasting a pleasant mixture of beer and wine, which mixed in with the lingering taste of champagne she herself possessed. She stopped clumsily moving her feet and stood still, savoring the kiss she had just practically thrown onto him, thinking just how good it actually was.
She pulled away after another moment or two, her breaths coming a little quicker. Glancing down, she said weakly, "... Sorry about that." In fact, she wasn't really sorry at all - he was her boyfriend, like, after all -; but she simply felt that she should murmur the words anyway; just in case he felt awkward.
{Wow, I'm bold tonight. BECAUSE I CAN BE, YE KNOW. xDD}

Amber eyes watched a new witch come into the party, then the rather long speeches in italian. Ameera smiled thoughtfully, still watching everyone as they moved around. She brought her wine glass to her lips, tasteing the wine again, letting it melt into her tongue like it was the last drop of nourishment to ever go past her lips. Her hand came up to run her fingers through her short hair again, she really wasn't used to it being so short. As the headmistress and her beau started dancing, Ameera got an idea. She placed her wine glass down on a near by table, and turned to the fellow professor she had been talking to.
"Would you like to dance?" she asked, a cheery smile on her lips. Why let the other couple be the only ones to dance in the room. She held out her hand, in a mock bow as if she were the gentleman. Ameera was a little like that sometimes, reversing the proper ettiquitte and roles of society, always with a giggle or chuckle on her lips.
O.o.c// Spelt that dumb ettiquitte word wrong..but its such a difficult word so...ya'll have to live with it.

Elizabeth grinned and downed the rest of the beer, grabbing another. She opened it and said,"Well, Mr. Andrews, I think I'll take you up on that offer..." She gulped from the next, coughing slightly as she inhaled some of it. She tried to gain her balance, but instead tripped, and grabbed his shoulders to hold herself up, giggling slightly. "Whoopsy!" She giggled helplessly for a moment, still holding onto him, before taking another gulp of the beer after removing one hand to do so.
She then waved it at the banner and said,"Yesh. It is rather lovely... Very lovely indeed..." She took another gulp and looked back at him, giggling for a moment as if sharing a private thought. She then said,"What're your plans for th'evening, Mr. Andrews?"
Darien smiled down at her. Even if she messed up, he still wouldn't think her stupid. When she tripped, he stopped, concerned. He began,"Are you al--" He was interrupted by her lips suddenly pressing against his. His arm holding her hand dropped to her waist, and he held her. When she pulled away and apologized, he didn't speak for a moment, a little stunned. That had come from nowhere. Then he smiled at her and played with a strand of her hair briefly. "There's nothing to be sorry about... You just surprised me, that's all." He pressed his lips to hers briefly before asking,"Now, are you hurt?"
Alec sipped his wine, watching the other two couples in the room. Adeline and Darien seemed to be much more romantic about it, while the other two seemed to be leaning towards 'drunk'. He turned to Ameera as she set down her glass, smiling. He set down his own and said,"Of course." He laughed at the mock bow and took her hand, starting for the floor. He then turned and settled his hand at her waist, waiting for her to settle before they would start.

"You do that," Brae replied, nodding and watching her, eyes slightly narrowed. He caught her by the upper arms as she fell forward a little, smiling at her helpless laughter and shaking her slightly. "Careful... You might fall over and... and squish somebody..." He had said this almost slur-less, despite what an odd thing to say that it was.
Noticing the lack of apparent-drunkenness in himself, he tipped his bottle and drank almost all of it, leaving a bit still swirling in the bottom. Braeden smiled, his eyes meeting hers as she giggled again, one eyebrow of his raised. "My plans for the evening... Hm, Miss... Er... James - that's the name..."
He forgot to answer, for a moment, thinking about her and her name, before shaking his head and finishing off the bottle, grabbing another. "My plans are like so: Drinking, and... and..." He thought for a second. "Aha! And making you more drunk, too, before escorting you back to your bed." There was a pause, in which Braeden added, "Uh, bedroom. Office. Thing. Wherever you wish to go."
He let go of her arms, leaning back against the table once more, the only contact between them now being her one hand on his shoulder. "Your plans being...?" He left the question, trailing off and waiting for Elizabeth to answer.
"Good..." Adeline said, grinning in a relieved manner when she caught sight of Darien's second smile. She grinned harder when he kissed her again, although it was shorter than the one she had planted on him previously. When he spoke, she frowned a little, eyes fixed on those lips; Damn. They were moving way too much...
She slid a little closer again, seeming to be unable to keep away from him, and brushed her lips to his again. She was silent for a while, before deciding to answer his previous question, murmuring the response against his lips. "I'm fine..." Another kiss. "Just my ankle hurts a little..." Another kiss.
"I think," Kiss. "I need someone to distract me from the pain..." Yet another, longer kiss.

She laughed and said,"We wouldn't want that, now would we?" She gulped from the beer before continuing,"Really? You plan on getting me more drunk?" She finished off the bottle in a slightly larger gulp, setting it down on the table and grabbing another one.
"Well. I suppose whatever you like to call it'll do..." She opened it and drank from it, looking at him. She let go of his shoulder, feeling slightly more steady, and said,"My plans for th'evening go something like drink, drink more, and leave with you escorting me back to my room..." She paused, then nodded, as if agreeing that it was right, before taking more drinks from the beer.
He smiled, feeling her lips on his. Then she answered, following up with another kiss. Then another, and another, and another until Darien's head was starting to spin. He just held her and let her kiss him, enjoying the feeling while he could. She was obviously a little drunk, which is why she was much more... open than usual.
