Standing up on a chair, Adeline placed the finishing touch to the room in place: a massive, sparkling green banner with the words, 'Teachers' Start of Year Welcome Party' stretched across it. She tapped her wand on the end of it, and one end of the beautiful decoration stuck to the wall. She got down, and pointed her wand at the other end, which fixed itself to the wall.
Smiling, the Headmistress glanced around at the rest of the room. The large staff space was decorated with streamers and balloons, and there were a couple of food buffet tables, as well as one long drinks table, covered in all manner of liquids such as beer, butterbeer, champagne, wine, and just about anything else you would wish to drink. The neat rows of chairs and little coffee tables had been cleared away, and larger dining tables big enough for six to sit around were placed around the room.
She had simply told the teachers to arrive at the staff room on this certain day, at half past six, and to come in reasonably formal wear. Adeline herself was wearing a light, red dress that showed off her slim figure. She had red heels on her feet, a little red bag in her hand, and a thin red head band keeping her smooth, loose, straightened hair from hanging in her face constantly.
She had decided to throw this simple party to welcome the many new teachers to the school, and perhaps meet and get to know a few of them. This just seemed the perfect way. Adeline looked up as somebody entered the room. It was Braeden Andrews, the Potions professor. He was wearing suit trousers and a white shirt that was untucked, with the top several buttons undone. Over one arm was the suit jacket. He wore no tie.
Brae's eyes widened slightly. "A party?" He looked around the room, before going to stand near the drinks table. The Headmistress shot him a smile and nodded. "Yes. Just a small one, for the teachers to get to know each other. You're early, Braeden." She turned her gaze back to the door, waiting for more teachers to arrive.
{Aimee, bring Elizabeth along and we can do the plot thing. Everyone who has a teacher character should join, too.
Oh, and this is Adeline's dress.}

Carmen's slim hand reached for the door-knob. After muttering the password she opened the door and stepped into the decorated room. She saw the big sign and smiled. "Aw! How sweet!" she said as she ran over to Adeline and gave her a squeeze. "That's so nice of you Adeline!" she said happily as she looked around the room. "Hello Braeden" she said with a smile.
That night Carmen wore her short, shiny silver dress. Spaghetti straps, and kind of low cut. Her blond hair was up and lip-gloss glistening. She carried a matching silver purse and black high heels. Well, for her this was small and not overly-dressed. Carmen was a flirt and she loves dressing up. She was like a doll. This beauty needed to dress up. It made her feel important and pretty.

Elizabeth had received the invitation, seeing the words formal. It was no problem for her, seeing as most of her clothes could be seen as 'formal' to most people. It just so happened that 'formal' to her, meant the dress she was wearing. It was long and a color similar to that of red wine, but it was truly magnificent. It glided just above the floor, covering even her shoes, and it showed off her figure.
She walked in heels to the room, muttering the password as she walked in. She shut the door behind her, smiling at Adeline and Carmen. She saw Braeden, and she smiled at him as well, walking over to Adeline and Carmen, who were already near each other. She smiled at both of them. "The party looks lovely, Adeline. Thank you for inviting me."

Darien swore as he looked for his socks. He was running a little behind, and that was not a place he enjoyed being. He found them at last, pulling them on and slipping into his shoes, tying them swiftly and tightly. He then headed out the door, grabbing his jacket off the back of the chair.
He headed for the room, speaking the password and entering, shutting the door behind him. He smiled at Carmen and Elizabeth, nodding to Braeden, and headed straight for Adeline. He had eyes only for her, and it was like every other woman had just melted away.
He smiled at her, reaching up to gently play with a piece of her hair. "You look lovely... Simply stunning." He just grinned at her, reaching up to his neck to straighten his tie a bit as he took in the room.

The invitation lay on the bedside table, open. Alec, however, was exiting the bathroom, heading for the bed. He already had his jacket on, and he was straightening the sleeves as he walked. He ran a brush through his hair and slipped on his shoes. He walked out the door, heading for the Staff Room.
He spoke the password, letting himself in. The door was closed behind him, and he looked around, taking in the appearance of the room. Adeline had done an excellent job. He looked at the teachers, nodding to Braeden and Darien, who nodded back. He smiled at Carmen, Elizabeth, and Adeline, making his way to the little group that was forming. He simply grabbed a glass of wine on his way and sipped from it as he stood there, just listening to the talk for now.

Wand was pointed at a strand of hair, and it slowly shrunk. A hair shortening spell, made Ameera Joven's long hazelnut-colored hair short. While another spell was muttered, and parts of it went blond. She put some mousse in her hair and frumped it upward, giving it volume and bounce. Slipping into a beige dress, she felt quite sexy. Too bad it was a teacher meeting thing, instead of her going clubbing. This look really went over well on her. The material was clingy, and it showed off her curves quite flatteringly, while the thin spaghetti straps went up over her shoulders. The hem stopped just a little above the knee, emphasizing her long well toned legs.
She slipped her feet into her beige stilettos and exited her room. Before she opened the door she applied a layer of gloss on her lips, just a thin layer. Her lips needn't be brought any more attention, they were already full enough. She slipped the tube back into her beige handbag and placed her hand on the bronze doorknob, she whispered the pass and opened the door. A smile on her face as she walked through, glad that she hadn't over or under dressed for once. Hey, Ameera liked to dress herself up depending on her mood.
She saw the banner, and looked around herself. Woah, it looked pretty cool in here, turn down the lights and it could be a club. Grey eyes scanned the room once more, lingering over the teachers. She had briefly run into them before, and probably set a weird impression on them. Ah well. She walked over to a table and poured herself a glass of white wine. She was rather fond of that stuff. Swirling it around in the glass she took a sip and glanced around the room. Everyone looked superb, beautiful to say the least.

Adeline smiled and let out a laugh as Carmen ran into the room, and up to her. "I know! Oh, Carmen, you look lovely! I wish I had a figure such as yours!" She smiled fondly at her fellow professor, and continued. "The banner's quite wrong, actually. It's the end of a school year, not the start, but we have so many new teachers this year that I think we all deserved a party, welcome or not!"
Braeden acknowledged the Divination Professor with nod, and a glance. He then picked up a bottle of beer, and began to sip, watching the door intently. The next arrival was Professor Elizabeth James. Brae had met her, spoken to her. She was nice, talkative. He smiled back at her, raising the bottle in a sort of 'cheers' motion.
Adeline smiled at Elizabeth, too, giving her a little compliment as she came over as well, as she had done with Carmen. "Your dress is beautiful, Elizabeth, I love it! And, it was a pleasure."
Darien was next, and Braeden also shot him a nod in return as he walked across the room, toward Adeline. Adeline's smile brightened at the sight of him, and his compliments (Darien, that is, not Braeden.). She replied, "And you look very handsome..." She gave him a quick kiss on the lips, and spoke again. "Did you bring a camera? I forgot one, and my wand is in my office."
Braeden's eyebrows raised. They must be together then, he thought. Adeline looked toward Alec when he came in. "Is that your brother?" she asked Darien. "I haven't spoken to him yet, really." She smiled at him as he joined their little circle that was growing ever bigger. At the back of her mind, Adeline wondered why Braeden didn't just come over to them. He always just seemed to stand at the edge. They were all new to each other, but he either seemed incredibly shy, or simply uninterested. She hoped that it wasn't the latter.
Braeden was slightly surprised when Ameera arrived and walked straight over to the drinks table, as he had himself, instead of joining the little crowd. Ah well, she'd probably go over to them in a minute, anyway.
{I know objects such as cameras weren't allowed at Hogwarts, but OH WELL. They are here. xD}

Elizabeth's eyes fell on Braeden, catching his smile. She had grabbed a glass of wine just a moment before, and she lifted it in a sort of 'cheers' thing as well, smiling as she took a sip from the glass. She looked back at Adeline as she spoke, smiling and saying,"Thank you, Adeline. You look stunning yourself." She truly did. She sipped from her wine glass, making a mental note to go and talk to Braeden once she was finished with greetings in this area.
Darien smiled and said,"Why thank you, fair lady." He grinned and pulled a camera out of his pocket. "This do?" He offered it to her, turning to look at Alec as he walked in. Well, he had certainly dressed up more than usual. Darien was slightly surprised. "Yeah, that's him. Alec. He's my twin, actually..." He turned back to Adeline. "You really can't tell at all..."
Alec smiled at Adeline, approaching, throwing his arm over Darien's shoulders, and saying,"Yeah, we're twins." His accent was actually a bit Australian. He'd spent some time there in his lifetime. Quite a bit of time, actually, working for the Ministry there for a few years before switching to the one in Europe. "You can't tell, really..." He smiled, offering his hand to Adeline. "I'm Alec. It's a pleasure to meet you, especially since you managed to win my brother's heart..." He tipped his glass to her slightly, acknowledging her more with a nod before he sipped from it.

Braeden noted how Elizabeth raised her glass back, and she got another smile out of him. How so very strange...
"Thank you," Adeline said to Elizabeth, her grin growing as Darien pulled out a camera. "Perfect! I always forget to take them to parties... You're a life saver, you really are..." She pushed it back. "You keep it, though. I'll lose it if I do."
When Alec arrived, she blinked in surprise. "Twins? I'd say brothers, easily... You resemble each other around the nose, and the shape of the face... But you're twins? Wow. Learn something new every day..." She smiled at the last thing that he said, and took is hand. "Really? Talk about making an impact..." She grinned again. "I'm Adeline, but you... know that. Pleasure to meet you too."
Adeline noticed how everybody seemed to have a drink all of a sudden, and excused herself from the conversation, going over to the drinks table, complimenting Braeden on what he was wearing on the way and returning with a glass of champagne.

Grey eyes observed the other teachers from the table. One eyebrow arched, while her head was slightly tilted. Her wine glass every once and awhile making the trip to her full lips. A hand came up to make her hair a little more bouncy, before walking over to the other teachers. Her walk looked gracefully because of her long legs, and her stiletto's tapped slightly. Blond and brown hair gently bobbing as she walked, the short waves framing her face nicely.
"You all look positively lovely tonight" She said with an slight New Jersey accent mixed in with her English one. Probably from the year or so she spent in New Jersey before coming here. She wasn't sure how to start off a conversation really. All her adult years she had been mistaken for a teen, and got along rather well with the younger generations, then with her own. Which could make rather awkward at times, but fun and outgoing at others. She shifted her footing slightly. Although she was a little nervous inside, her outside aura was cool and collected. Like she was born to know everyone.

Elizabeth smiled, turning as Ameera appeared. She smiled in a thank you, saying,"You look lovely tonight, Ameera..." She had learned everyone else's name, so this must be the newest addition to the staff. Ameera. She at last said,"Excuse me." She left the group, walking over to Braeden. She stopped about three feet in front of him and smiled, saying,"Well, hello again, Braeden. Have you had a good day?"
Darien grinned and said,"Of course. And yes. Twins. Hard to believe, huh?" He laughed slightly, watching her leave and return. Then Ameera seemed to compliment everyone, and he smiled at her. "You look lovely yourself, Ameera." He looked back at Adeline after waiting for a minute, allowing her time to reply, then grinned at Adeline. "Wanted to get your drink while you still could?"
Alec brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed it, smiling as he released it. "The pleasure is all mine..." He turned as Ameera approached and smiled, saying,"And you, Ameera, look quite stunning in that dress." He smiled and offered his hand, saying,"Alec Edwards. Charms professor..."

Adeline agreed with Elizabeth when Ameera arrived, nodding at what she said before saying to the Transfiguration teacher, "Yes, and your hair looks nice like that. It suits you, Ameera." She smiled, and watched as Elizabeth left the group to talk to Braeden (if only she knew where that was going to end up... xD). She smiled. Someone else was making an effort to get along with the guy. That was good.
Brae saw Ameera go, and thought, Told you so... He had a sip of his drink and stood up slightly straighter from where he was leaning on the table as Elizabeth spoke to him, and placed the bottle down on the table before replying with another nod of acknowledgment, "Elizabeth. My day has been normal. Working. In the holidays. But whatever, I suppose. I came in for the job... How was your day? Did you have any idea that there was gonna be a party? My message just said, 'come down to the Staff Room at half past six. Dress formally.'"
Adeline turned back to Darien, and said in response, "Yes, they seem to be going pretty quickly. Why, did you want me to get drunk later in the night?" She asked the last part with a grin and a laugh.
When Alec kissed her hand, she raised her eyebrows, grinning, a light flush coloring her cheeks. "It bet it is!" she laughed, saying to Darien as his brother turned to Ameera, "What a charmer... What do you want to drink?" Then she took his hand and led him over to the drinks table. (He hasn't already got a drink, has he? x.x -lacks attention- If he has, just make him get a refill or something. xD)

She nodded and said "Thank you" to everyone. Her grey eyes now on Alec as he introduced himself, she clasped his hand with her own. "Charming indeed, Ameera Joven, Transfiguration" She said, smiling. She released his hand after shaking it. She had quite the grip for a woman, and a pleasent shake. Ameera's eyes wandered through the other teachers then remarked, "You can see the romancing, of each trying to woo and be wooed" she whispered to Alec. A mischeivious grin on her face, she watched them all.
It did seem that the teachers were pairing up. These things weren't uncommen, its what happens when living in close quarters with the opposite sex. Purely natures will. Ameera marveled at the fact that every teacher here, would be considered quite the catch. "Bauxbatons, the school of beautiful people" she said, mostly to herself. Ameera had a bit of an observed manner, studying people like she would a designer dress or leather. Her wine glass rose to her lips as they parted to intake some of the nectar.
