[Sometime after the Lioano attack. The Brady siblings weren't here for that, so they don't actually know about it.]
Thank God it was getting warmer. Caitriona Brady enjoyed the cold weather sometimes- heck, it was great if it snowed. Then snow-men could be made, snow-fights could be started and snow-angels could cover the school grounds. But the novelty of Winter soon wore off after a couple of weeks. Then the snow faded and it just rained, day after freezing cold day. Which was why she was incredibly looking forward to Summer, when she could lounge around by pools in her swim-wear and read magazines and have full-blown fun in the sun. Pity it was still several months away from that, though. Still, it was coming; however slowly, and she was anticipating it.
Since she had arrived at the large school - which, truthfully, wasn't that long ago, a few days perhaps - the Fina hadn't had much chance to look around or explore. The only places that she had been in were the Fina dormitories (but only her own room), the dining hall and classes. She hadn't been around all the grounds or anywhere even close to half the castle, and it had been one of the things that she had been most excited about doing upon enrolling at a new school, in an entirely different country. What could be more fun - when you had no friends apart from your siblings to hang out with - than exploring your surroundings and getting to know a place?
So Caitie had begun with the grounds. She had wrapped up warm - even wearing a thick coat, brightly coloured scarf and gloves; gloves! - and headed out the front entrance of the school, walking across the wet grass with a slight spring in her step, almost skipping. She was in an increasingly good mood today; she didn't even swear when she stepped in the puddle and it splashed all over her legs! The Fina had walked around every garden, tried to navigate her way through the courtyard and even visited the roaring waterfall- which was, by now, graceful cascading down into the pool below once more.
After all this, the girl had decided to head back up to the school. She was a little worn out, yes, but the main reason was that she was freaking cold. The wind had ferociously picked up while she had been out, making her shiver furiously in her thick coat. Once back inside, she had thought about going around the whole school, but soon gave up on that idea. It would take far too long, and she was already rather tired. So, after getting directions from some random person in the hall, she decided to go to the library and relax in front of the warm fires with a decent book.
But not before a quick change.
So, then Caitie headed back to her dorm room. She changed into her favourite pair of long jeans, and pulled a white vest top over her dark head. A little cool for that, you say? Well, that's what the black, zip-up jacket with the sleeves that were way too long was for, of course! She brushed her multi-shaded hair before just letting it stay loose, falling over her shoulders in silky layers. The last thing the girl did before leaving was shove on a pair of shoes; ones that happened to be black and white Converses. She had bought them once day with her cousin Aeryn when they'd been out shopping. It had been a fun day, and Cait remembered every last detail of it.
Caitriona wandered the halls for a little while after she left the dormitory, hoping against hope that she was heading in the direction of the library. Eventually, she found it, and quietly entered the place. She smiled pleasantly at the librarian before heading to the huge shelves and scanning the book titles for one that stuck out. She finally picked one that didn't have a name on the spine. She flopped into a chair by the fire and opened the curious black book, only to realize that it was quite a good horror story. Perhaps it was a true story, hence there not being a name to it? She supposed she'd never know, and just settled down to read.
