A small girl sat at a desk, surrounded by books, leafing boredly through the pages of a very thick one, not taking in anything that she read. The girl, Gabby, was studying for a class, potions, as she hadn't been doing very well, and truthfully, she was bored stiff. Why Gabby took potions, she didn't know, but oh well. It didn't really matter. As long as she passed her N.E.W.T.S.
But studying wasn't the whole reason she was in the library. She was thinking. About Adam and Lexi, and what she should do. Why she had kissed that damned boy Lexi she didn't know, but she was drunk and he was just /so/ charming.
Sighing lightly, the girl closed the book, eyeing another one, then standing up, levitating various books and putting them back in their places, taking a few off some shelves, looking at the first few pages then hurriedly putting them back on the shelves. Why was school so /boring/. You couldn't say it wasn't, even if you were a perfect student like Mirabelle Miette.
The girl sighed, collapsing into a chair, hitting her head a few times on the desk. Stupid Gabby. Bad Gabby. Bad bad Gabby. Bad Lexi... And poor Adam. He didn't even know that she had kissed Lexi. True, Lexi didn't know about Adam, just it didn't seem like he would care. Just Adam had said he would be the one to hurt her, and now, if he found out.
"My life sucks." The girl muttered, banging her head on the desk a few more times.

What the hell was wrong with the world?
First Adam meets a ton of gorgeous girls and then he... Well, let's just kindly say 'messes things up with them'. Then his sister slaps his face in front of God knows how many people in the dining hall, including one of the girl's he had stayed up most of the night with, snogging and drinking and hoping to impress. Then, when he thought said girl was avoiding you for sure, he goes and gets involved with another one, kissing her in the Courtyard, then telling her that nothing should happen between them.
He had tried to squash any hopes of them being together best he could so that Gabriella wouldn’t get hurt; it had been him. So why was he so bothered about the fact that he had heard a couple of giggling rumours around the school that morning that claimed to have seen her kissing some guy in a bar? It was hardly his business. She was single, and jaw-droppingly gorgeous, so why shouldn’t she have some fun?
Still, the whispered gossiping had stung him a little, and Adam reluctantly dragged himself up to the library to squeeze in some last minute studying before lessons officially started. He had nothing else to do, basically, and Adam doubted very much that he would see anyone up there, least of all Gabby. He expected rather bitterly that she’d be out with her new boyfriend, who ever the hell that guy was, instead of stuck inside the most boring place on earth with nothing to do as he regretfully was. As it were, he was also wrong.
Adam kicked open the door to the library dejectedly, the sound echoing through the quiet room and causing the librarian, whoever she was, to look up and shush him, sending him an annoyed glare. Adam himself just shook his head and continued through the library, shaking his head and looking down at his feet. He reached a row of shelves and happened to look up just at that moment, seeing the girl he had been stuck between hoping to see and wishing that he wouldn’t; Gabriella.
Hoping now that she hadn’t seen him, even though it was most likely that she had, Adam ducked around a corner, pretending to look at books, spider webs, anything but her in case she followed him curiously.
{Shut up. xD; You rock. I suck.}

Sighing tiredly, Gabriella put a hand to her forehead. Last night had been horrible. How many drinks had she had? Twelve, thirteen, maybe even sixteen, or something like that. The day had been awful for Gabby. She felt extremely guilty, because Adam was such a sweet kid, she had the worst hangover she had ever had, and, worst of all, she didn't know whether she wanted to go out with Adam or Lexi.
Gabby stood up, walking slowly to the bookcase, idly taking a few out and walking over to the librarian's desk, placing the books on it neatly, raising an eyebrow as the librarian didn't do anything.
"I'd like to take these books out, please." She told the librarian in a sugary sweet voice, looking patronisingly at the short lady.
"Yes, of course, dear." She scanned the books, stamping them, then pushed them towards Gabriella, who picked them up, turned around, then dropped them.
The librarian scowled, but Gabby ignored her, stepping over the books, walking towards the shelf she had been loking at before, but going behind it, gazing at the person she had just seen.
He looked sad, and maybe even a little annoyed. There had been talk going around the school about her and Lexi, and obviously, the young Lioano had heard.
"Adam..." The words escaped her mouth, barely audible, but loud enough so he could hear. You could tell by the way she had said his name that she was regretting last night.
[WRONG. I am crappeh and you are awesumm. ^^; Soyeah. [:]

He watched Gabby take the books to the counter, speaking briefly to the woman behind it, before turning to leave the dusty library. Yes, Adam thought, she's leaving! He wouldn't have to face her, speak to her or look at her if she left, after all, would he? But, once again, he was wrong, and she didn't disappear.
He heard the books hit the floor with a clatter, the person previously clutching them beginning to walk. Her footsteps got closer to his 'hiding' place, louder, and finally Adam turned around to face the girl as she faced him, looking at him and then speaking quietly and regretfully
"Yes?" he replied finally, after a few last moments of silence. His own voice was small, blue eyes focusing on her as he turned. "Do you need anything, Gabriella?" He hadn't meant it to come out so cold and quietly, but it had anyway; things seemed to have a habit of doing that recently. Anyhow, there wasn't much else he could greet her with in the current circumstances, was there? Nope.

Gabby looked up at Adam, a small pout forming on her lips. Her eyes glazed over and Gabby looked at the ground, a sigh escaping her lips. Stupid Lexi. Stupid Lexi. No.. Stupid Gabby. She was an idiot. Why had she ever kissed Lexi? Because I was drunk, she thought, looking up at Adam.
"Adam I..." Gabby looked at the ground again, combing a hand through her hair. How could Gabby explain something like /this/ to him? "I was drunk... I'm sorry. I really did want to get to know you more, go out with you, but I went to Shaded Nights and got drunk. I think I have a problem with alcohol.. Anyway... I'm sorry. I know you probably hate me now… And you were the one who said you’d hurt me…” She banged her head on the book shelf, sighing deeply.
”I /really/ am sorry. I… I just want you to know that, and I hope you’ll accept my apology..” Gabby turned, going to pick up her books, another sigh escaping her lips.

Adam listened patiently to her speak, then replied in that same nasty, cold voice that seemed to pop out completely by accident, "It doesn't matter, anyway." He turned to look at her, sighing. "What you do out of school is none of my business." Damn, this was all coming out wrong. He sighed again, his voice returning to it's normal, soft state.
"Look, Gabby," he said quietly, shaking his head in a cross between disbelief and exasperation. "I don't want you to feel guilty about anything. We're not dating, you're not tied down, so if you like this other dude, then... whatever." He trailed off, mumbling the last part almost inaudibly; he was pretty sure that she'd heard it, though.

Gabby turned back, looking at Adam, wiping at her eyes for any signs of tears. No. None. Good. She wasn't going to cry about this... It just wasn't done. Yes, Gabby was a bit of a cry-baby, but sometimes... Sometimes she could work it to her advantage.
"Yes, it's none of your business, Adam, but it's blatantly obvious you were hurt by what I did." She locked her eyes with his, closing her eyes, leaning against a nearby bookcase. One of her hands flew to her forehead, and she scrunched her eyes up, looking a little pained; too much alcohol = bad.
"No. I have to feel guilty. Because I dn't even like this boy. I know who he is - Alexys Prso - because someone told me that they dumped him because he cheated on her, and personally, I don't want to be cheated on. So I did the wrong thing last night, knowing who the boy was. I wanted to go out with you, and I was going to say yes, but I have a small problem which is an addiction to alcohol when I'm not feeling right. So if we could just stop talking about Lexi, that would be great." She slid a book out of the shelf leafing through it and dropping it to the floor, recieving another glare from the librarian, but Gabby didn't notice. "Sorry, Adam, I'm in a bad mood today..."

"Not hurt," Adam said indignantly. "Just... stung. And surprised, of course." He frowned at her agreeing with him, and turned to his own bookshelf, pretending to vaguely flick his eyes along the spines of the thick books. "But like I said," he went on quietly. "it's not like it really matters, or anything."
He sighed and turned to look at her again as she spoke. "No; no you don't have to feel anything," he argued insistently. "Stop talking about Lexi? Fine by me. It wasn't my favourite conversation topic anyway." His eyes stared at her. "What do you want to talk about, then?" His words were brisk, as if he wanted to get out of there.
"Yeah," he said. "That's what hang-overs do to you."

"Actually, Adam, it does matter. And I don't think you were 'stung' because I kissed Lexi, it was the fact that proved you wrong. And I don't think you like being wrong." Damnit. Now they were just having a childish argument. That was stupid. She looked at the ground, scratching one of her legs with her shoe.
"Maybe I don't have to, but I do. So just leave it." She ran a hand through her hair, still not looking at the boy, ignoring what he next said, but finally looking up, her eyes narrowed, a pout - which she was trying to prevent - forming on her lips.
"You know what? Fine. Be like that." Gabby walked over to Adam, pressing her lips to his, forgetting to pull her lips away from his after a few seconds - which she had intended on doing.. But it was the whole kissing Adam thing... Adam.

"Actually Gabby, I don't think it- Proved me wrong? You lost me a damn long time ago, girl, but now I have no idea what the hell you're on about. How was I wrong?" He ignored her last comment immaturely. That was right: a childish argument it was, but a chidish argument that Adam didn't want to let go of. At least he was communicating with the girl.
"I'll not bloody leave it!" Adam spluttered indignantly. "Why do people always tell me to-" He was cut off as Gabby spoke over him, then walked pointedly nearer and... kissed him? Dang it. How did he always end up kissing this girl? Even in the midst of a damn argument he found his mouth attached to hers! It must be some sort of magnetic force... Oh God, Adam, stop thinking...
Still, considering he was swapping such heated words with her previously, he kissed her back just as forcefully, turning them around slightly so that her back was against the bookshelf. Now, if the librarian was mad about something, this was it.

A hand flew to Adam's cheek as he accepted the kiss, and a small smile appeared on Gabby's lips as she closed her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his waist, lifting the bottom of his shirt up, drawing circles on the skin she found there.
Gabby let out a small gasp as she was pushed onto the bookcase, but just opened her lips a little, hands moving up Adam's shirt.
She seemed to mutter 'Adam' into the kiss, but there didn't appear to be a follow-up sentence. Perhaps she had said it because she was going to say something, or perhaps it was just to remind herself who she was with. Oh well.
Her eyes opened lazily, and she looked at Adam's face, a small smile tugging at her lips. Yes, he was a handsome boy; strong cheekbones, a slight tan, gorgeous eyes and even more gorgeous hair. Hopefully he wouldn't say they shouldn't go out again.

After several minutes of ferocious kissing, Adam pulled away as the common sense that had left him previously came back again, warning him not to get too far. This couldn't happen in the library, now could it? He turned his head, and caught sight of the librarian; no, nothing further could happen in here. That would be embarrassing.
He grinned, hands either side of Gabby on the bookcase, trapping her against it. Slightly breathless, he said, "So... what was that for, Miss Monroe? I just thought you were getting angry with me." He grinned harder, and continued. "I might just have to get you angry more often, hmm?"

A hand flew to Adam's cheek as he accepted the kiss, and a small smile appeared on Gabby's lips as she closed her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his waist, not believing the kiss had ended when it did, so she kissed the air for a moment, but pouted as she grasped the fact that it /had/ finished. Damn.
A small smirk appeared on her face as she was trapped against the bookcase, drawing a line down his chest with her finger. "Mmhm. Maybe you should. I'm free now.. Got anything you want to yell at me about?" Gabby smiledm squirming to get out of his grip, a small pout forming on her lips as she couldn't. "Gonna let me out, or carry on looking all sexy-like in front of all these people?" She asked, wrapping one of her arms around his neck.
