Outside was rather dreary today. Everything in grayscale from the sun hiding behind the clouds. The dark grey rolling clouds, lighting up every few seconds as lightening struck. A low rumble of thunder to fallow. Rain fell down in sheets, the droplets of water making miniature lakes and pockets on the school grounds outside. The rain tapping steadily on the glass window, and stone sill. Making a soothing rhythm, it almost droned out the thunder. The large window, supported a window seat on the inside. A variety of cushions making the little hide away quite plush. A slim, long legged girl sat on this. Her knees drawn up to her chin, long arms wrapped around those. Holding a book in front of her.
Navy blue hair was styled as her usual. Totally flipped out and it looked messy. A very suiting look for her. Green almond shaped eyes moved, as she read. Inside her head, images danced to the words in front of her. Loleida found that reading a book, was much like watching a movie. Except instead of the image being in front of you, it was played out in your head. Making things as gruesome or passionate as you please. The old book had a red satin cover, peeling slightly at the spine. The title printed on the front cover was in silver sprawly writing. Upon inspection it says Black Roses and Tulips. An odd title to say the least. However, each has their own judgement. Lei rather liked this book. Lei isn't that much of a bookworm. However, when you are new to a school, and don't know anyone. On a day like today, you tend to just want to curl up and read a good book.
Her appearal was casual. Black pants that clung tight to her legs, and were a little too long. They nearly covered her black converse shoes. They were low riser, but you would never know. A forest green strapless top's hem went down over the tops of her pants. Sleeves down over her hands, thumbs poking through holes in the sides of the sleeves. A sigh escaped her mouth and she put the book aside, turning her glance to out the window. Watching the rain start to fall softer. The clouds draw away. A smile perched on her heart shaped lips as the suns golden glow broke through. Shafts of sunlight falling upon the earth.
Her right hand pressed against the window. Palm feeling the cool glass against her skin. Lei felt at loss. She is very much a friend oriented person. So far she had made none however. She was never shy at her old acadamy. Yet here she felt...alone. Her self esteem at an all time low. She had already embarressed herself quite thoroughly earlier today. She had been wearing a blue skirt. A kilted one that rested about three inches above her knee. On her way to her dormitory, she had tripped and fallen over god knows what. Well, just at that momment a hell load of students came out of a classroom. All to witness her skirt sliding up to around her waist as she hit the hard floor. Her blue lace panties in clear view. After that she had changed into pants. Not wanting anymore accidents that day.
She wasn't 100% sure what to do. So she picked her book back up and returned to the fantasy world of another. Sinking out of reality and into the story. Trying to run and hide from all her issues and problems in the comforting pages of a book.

Arkarian stared out the dull window to see a flash of lightning strike the rolling hills behind the castle. Good thing there wasn't a quidditch match today, he wouldn't have turned up anyway. But still, he was standing in the library looking for an historicial novel, preferably an accurate one. The more accurate the better.
He scanned a section of the shelf until a book caught his eye - Wizards through the ages. That'll do for him. It wasn't fiction but it'd keep him entertained for a while. He flicked some of his red away from his eyes, better to see the books. It was forever pestering him, falling in front of his eyes but he daren't cut it off, ever. It was what made him special, his individual black and red hair. He pulled his black robes close to him, it was freezing in this section of the library. Maybe he should suggest lighting one of the many fires.
Arkarian turned around to glance at the other novels on display and found none such to his liking. As he was looking his gaze fell across an unfamiliar girl. She looked about his age, possibly. She looked lonely sat on her own, cuddled up to her book. She was pretty. Very pretty, infact Arkarian found himself staring at her for a while.
Not knowing whether to engage in conversation, Arkarian passed in front of her, hoping to get her attention and possibly strike up a conversation. He went over to the nearest shelf and stood staring at a selection of Arithmancy books. Great, he thought. I hate Arithmancy. He stood for what felt like ages just sifting through various volumes of "Advanced Arithmacy for the Advanced Mind" pretending to be vaguely interested.

A smirk fell onto the heart shaped lips as something in the book obliviously was either funny, or it was an incrediably good part in the book. She shifted in the window seat as she felt something staring at her. Navy blue bangs falling down into her eyes, they were just resting on her top eye lashes. Lei looked up, to see nothing, but a brush of air went by her. Her head whipped around, thinking it was one of the many school ghosts. Quite the evil smirk on her lips as she thought of what to do to the spirit for messing around.
When she saw a guy about the same age as her she thought. All she could see was the back of his red and black hair. One of her eyebrows delicatly arched, there was no one else around. That had to be who was staring at her. Her green eyes narrowed, as she shifted to see what books he was looking at. Arithmancy? She shook her head wondering what the hell he found interesting about those. "You have got to be the only one who has visited those shelves except the librarian"
She said, her eyebrows drawn together as she gave him a wierd look. Lei brushed her navy hair from her eyes and waited for him to turn around and say something. She moved so that her legs were hanging off the seat, and leaned foward slightly. So that she could see him better of course. Her book lay forgotten beside her.
Another flash lit up beside her as lightening struck again. The thunder that fallowed left a shiver up her spine. The ran started to smack hard against the window again, and the suns last gold ray dissapeared. Lei kept her gaze fixated on the boy. Interest perked because she rather liked the colour of his hair, and to why he is at the Arithmancy books.

"You have got to be the only one who has visited those shelves except the librarian," Arkarian heard the voice behind him say. He turned to face her. He smiled, a foolish joking smile, hopefully a smile of friendship. He ran his finger's through his sleek hair, hoping to fix the gel back in place and hold the hair straight. He made contact with her eye, seeing a look of amusement to her face. He smiled again.
Damn,he thought I either have to pretend I like Arithmancy or admit that I was trying to catch her attention.
He glanced at her navy blue hair, individual. He thought that maybe he'd steal her hair colour one day, he thought it'd match his slick style.
"Erm, well actually I find Arithmancy highly interested" he said in a joking manner, so she'd know he wasn't totally serious.
He noticed her black pants and green top, feeling slightly embarassed because he was still wearing his blue Intermise robes. And underneath, you could just about catch his gothic boots, covered in all manner of straps. They were a nightmare to put on or take off, but they were very stylish, in Arkarian's mind anyway. He didn't often wear them, but today it was cold and they were good at keeping his feet warm.
He walked towards her and grabbed the nearest wooden chair. He swung it round, more violently than he had intended, and sat on it backwards, legs spread apart, one either side of the back support. He placed his hands on top of the support and rested his head there, giving her his full attention.
"Arkarian" he said, trying his best to look confident, when truth was, he was rather nervous. He wasn't the best with new people.

As he heisitated in his answer, she knew what he was doing. She watched him in silence, as he grabbed a chair and sat in front of her. When he finally stopped moving, and said his name, she chuckled. "Admit it, you were checking me out" She said quite calmly, not a hint of self conciousness nor embarressment in her voice or face. She ran a hand through her navy hair, the back now sticking up a little bit more then before. Adding to the appealing messy look.
"Im Loleida, however I hate that name so you can call me Lei" She finally said. She leaned back and brought her long legs back up onto the window seat. Crossing them and then sitting upright again. Elbows resting on her knees, chin propped in her hands. Lei smirked as she saw he was still wearing his Intermise Robes.
"Your in Intermise? I am in Fina, what year are you?" She asked. Raising one of her eyebrows again, her green eyes focused on him. How random was this? She thought that she would be here forever in silence. Now some guy stops by for a chat. Neat.
Lei always thought it was funny when you first meet someone. For the longest time all the conversation will be is asking questions. Its like 100 questions time. If you answer 70% of them right, you gained a new friend!! Inside her head Lei giggled, that would be funny. Funny but it is true in a way.

What did she mean when she said I was checking her out? he screamed in his mind outraged.Oh my god, I hope it wasn't that obvious!
He watched her shift her seating position, staring at her intently, trying to break her gaze.
"So what if I was checking you out Lei." He said cheekily. "You never know, I might find you attractive," a smile broke out on his face. "It must be the hair..."
He shifted a bit in his chair, his pants weren't half uncomfortable. That'd teach him to wear pants with so many pockets in. If anything, it certainly wasn't convenient. Thank goodness she couldn't see them, they weren't the most stylish of garments to say the least...
"Sixth year," he stated, in answer to her question. He wondered if it would've mattered to him if she was younger than him. Could he still have a crush on a younger girl? It wouldn't be considered innapropriate would it? Anyway, he decided it didn't matter because they'd only just met and he'd rather they were friends before he started thinking about anything else.
"I feel sometimes like I'm in the 1st year though sometimes - The way the 7th year's treat you. Last week one of them threw a dung bomb at me for accidentally picking up his bag in the great hall. I'd avoid them if you can, or atleast make life hell for them." he added, giving her a helping hand. It was obvious she was new here. She didn't have to say it, but he knew.

"Of course its the hair, its always the hair" She said, nodding. A smile on her lips, "So your attracted to my hair eh? Well I am sorry, my hair is seeing the hairdryer, so she is a little commited" Lei said, trying not to laugh while she did.
Sixth? Alright, thats cool. "Me too, and maybe that is how I tripped in the hall earlier...come to think of it it was a seventh year class that got to see my panties as my skirt flew up" She frowned, gnawing on her bottom lip for a second. "Damn Seventh years" She said, back handing her other hand, as if it were one of their heads. She shook her head, she was very dissapointed in their behaviour, very. She looked back to Arkarian.
"You figured out I am new here, didn't you?" She stated plainly, "I moved here from Finland" She finished up with. Her hands now clasped together in her lap.

Arkarian's face smirked into a grin as Lei mentioned flashing a load of seventh years with her knickers. Ahh, what Arkarian would have given to be there... He could imagine it now,Lei falling over in all her glory. He wouldn't be surprise if it was a prank pulled by the seventh years - he wouldn't put it past them.
"Finland ey?" He said, rubbing his chin.I lived there for a while once...Well, I say lived but it was more like 2 months. My dad travels you see.
He hoped that Lei wasn't bored by his conversation. The last thing he wanted was to bore her. Infact, he could think of better things to do than sit here chatitng.
"As for your hair drier. I may have to go and have a quiet word with him..."he laughed jokily. Arkarian got up from his chair, flipped it round the right way and sat on it properly. His legs had started to kill, sitting like that for too long.

" I bet you enjoyed that," she said, raising an eyebrow and a smirk across her lips, "Okay, you can stop invisioning me in my panties any time soon" She said, almost laughing. His eyes were not really 'there', you could tell he was off in la la land for a second. That and the ridiculous smirk that was etched across his face. Her eyes narrowed slightly, even if she herself was smirking.
"Yeah that is more like visited Finland" She said chuckling. She shook her head so that her blue bangs would clear from her green gaze for a second.
As for your hairdryer. I may have to go have a quiet word with him At that she laughed, and managed to choke out, "Oh my hairdryer would kick your ass" She was of course joking. She watched him flip his chair around and sit on it properly.
Come to think of it, her legs were starting to get stiff from sitting cross legged. Now that he was done fidgeting it was Lei's turn. She uncrossed her legs and just leaned back, supporting herself with her arms thrust out behind her. Her legs brought up again so that the heels of her feet were touching her butt.

"Uncomfy?" he said in responce to her shift of movement. "But now I've mentioned it, sitting on a chair backwards is not a smart idea."He chuckled, wondering how Lei would react to his next line. "You could say, it puts unwanted strain on my groin" He looked away for a second, embarassed that he'd even mentioned his groin in a conversation with a girl. Let alone one he fancied. He wish he'd seriously thought that line through. Hopefully, it wasn't going to create unwanted tension.
Arkarian hated nothing more than an awkward silence. You could both sit there for hours, both waiting for the other to speak but with no idea what to say. Hopefully she wasn't like that.

A second past, then Lei burst out laughing. Her hand came up to cover her mouth and stifle her laughter, didn't work so well. "S-s-sorry, me and m-my," she giggled."sick mind..." Her hand came down from her mouth as her laughter turned to giggles. Then softened to just a smile. That was funny, espeacially for a guy to say it. She had seen him look away, ah so he had seen the underlying meaning in that too. No doubt he was regretting saying that.
"Hey, don't be embarresed because I have a sick mind" She managed to say without giggling. Her navy blue hair falling back into her greenish yellow eyes, as she smiled.
"Besides, I have said a lot worse, and had other unpleasent momments like the one I mentioned earlier" She twisted her silver thumbring around her thumb, looking down at it as she spoke. A silly little grin on her face as she remembered those mortifying momments. It seemed that no one really knew her till they saw her panties. Or worse.
