"She's not my girlfriend, and she's not... ugly," Adam had murmured and quite a quiet voice before Gabriella came bursting in. "And yeah, I know- hey! I don't have any problems with getting girls!" He resisted adding, I managed to get you into bed, didn't I? For fear of receiving a bloody nose and her dislike for him growing even more.
Adam had to admit that he was lost in this sea of girly voices and quick insults, though he had experienced bitchy arguments like this many times before, having two sisters - twins, even - to listen to day and night. Roxie and Scarlet had always had to be ripping each other to pieces over something stupid, so he had got used to it. But this was a little different, because these girls were pretty much hating each other because of him. He should have felt somewhat flattered- he felt nothing of the sort.
The Lioano male faded slightly, only barely listening to what was going on. When Gabby claimed not to be drunk he smiled, and then her questions turned to him, and he had to snap out of his thoughts. Damn it; things were just getting peaceful in his own mind, as well!
"Gabriella, it is not my choice," Adam said, this time a little less aggressive but still forceful enough for him to try and get his point across. "How could it be my choice? I'm in the midst of an argument between two girls that I pretty much like, and both of them now hate me, round about." He shot a glance at Gabby and added, "Well, if you don't hate me now, you probably will when you've sobered up, at least, I'm sure."

Choosing to ignore what Adam said, Charlie tensed up when Gabby came towards her, ready to retaliate to whatever the girl was going to do with something twice as hard. She relaxed a tiny bit when she passed, and had the urge to stick out her foot or something as she tottered passed. The idea was enough to make her smile a little.
"Oh yeah? Because your Uncle is what? A stu-- " Charlie didn't finish her sentence as Adam started speaking again. She huffed a little, and glared at both of them, trash talking apparently done for the moment.
"Hey Adam, how about I help make this decision a little easier for you?" Charlie spat, grabbing her shopping bags, and starting to stalk off towards the stairs to go to the girls dorms, "Grow some balls, and then maybe we'll talk this out!"

"Did I ever say that I hated you? No, I don't think so. I'm just... annoyed. And I said already - I'm not drunk!" Gabby almost yelled the last part, sighing over-exaggeratedly (if that's even a word. o.o). She waited a few moments before continuing, "I said I was a teensy bit tipsy," She showed him how little by making a shape with one of her hands, "But that I wasn't drunk. Okay?" Gabby glared at Adam, once again continuing. "And it is your choice, because your little girlfriend and I aren't exactly going to come to an agreement."
"Shut-up about my Uncle, bitch. I can oh-so-easily get him to send some big, macho man down here to kick your ass. So close your big mouth, mmkay?" Gabby played with her hair again, running her fingers through it.
"Right. Now you're going to go and run after her and I'll just stand here until you realise that you're not going to get Charlie until you kiss me. Then she gets jealous, you screw her and stand in shock when you see me kissing a different guy after she disposes of you." Gabby rolled her eyes and moved away from where she was standing to sit on the sofa. "Well, I'll see you after you get back from apologising to Charlie."

"Gabriella Monroe," Adam said in a voice so stern that it was almost comical. "You have been drinking out of that bottle with abundance before I even walked in here and caught you with your new... boyfriend? Well, the point is, you'd have to be pretty damn special to not feel the effects at all of alcohol that's that strong. And besides, you can barely stand up without swaying or move without concentrating; that's a little more than tipsy."
Adam waved his hand at Charlie's retreating back and said quietly, "Apparently, you already have come to an agreement." He watched her leave. "At least, one of you has." Her words then reached his ears, and he scowled, angered for the first time that day. For the first time in that argument. "Charlie, why don't you freaking chill out a bit? You want to talk? What were you doing just, fucking miming? Maybe you should shut it a little and listen." It seemed she was going anyway. "Fine, leave and make the decision easier. It's getting to the point where I don't give a shit anymore. I could do without this, y'know. I don't need random hormonal girls flipping out on me."
He had spat this mini-rant at about the same time as Gabby, but finished after her so it wasn't a mixed up jumble of words. He spun around then to face Gabby, and snapped, "And you can just shut the hell up, too. You don't know me well enough to make predictions like that. I'm not a fucking Fina; I learn from my mistakes and I don't go crawling back twice." And then he breathed deeply, not used to having explosions like that so much.

"He is not my boyfriend. I just had to kiss him to get alcohol. And fine then - I'm slightly between tipsy and drunk, but my words aren't slurred, so I still think I'm only tipsy. If you want to see me drunk, though, you can go through that door and get the tequila that should be lying on the floor...?" It was worth a try, even if she was almost one hundred percent sure that he wasn't going to get it for her.
"PMSing, much?" Gabby looked over at Adam, sighing. Things were so complicated, and if Charlie hadn't come into the stupid common room, well, things could've sorted them out by now. But no, no. Charlie just had to come in, ruin everything, and get Adam angry with her and Gabby, and Gabby angry with Adam.
"Well sorry, then! My mistake! I shouldn't have judged you, but I'm only human, I can't be perfect. Sorry, Adam. Now go and get some of that tequila in your system - it will make you less... mad. Then you can come and lie on the sofa and tell me all your problems." It's always about the alcohol, she thought, rolling her eyes.

Charlie clenched her hands, and took a deep breath. Slowly, she turned around to face Gabby, trying not to shout, curse her rotten of start laughing hysterically. But she had to admit - that comment about the uncle and the big macho men coming down to whoop her ass was really quite ridiculous.
"Ooh, yeah. Check me, shaking in my trainers," Charlie said sarcastically, rolling her eyes, "As far as I care, you can fuck your uncle and his big macho men. Honestly Monroe, you're about as scary as a slightly damp sponge."
And then it was Adam's turn. Charlie had been a little surprised at his out burst - something she hadn't seen from him before. My, he even swore at her. Charlie frowned. That called for desperate measures. She sighed heavily, and shook her head.
"And I'm sorry for shouting at you like that, Adam. You know what I'm like when I get fired up. But, what can I say..." she said slowly, and shrugged, "I guess I'm just a little surprised, you know? I just didn't expect this - not from you. I thought you were different that those other guys...You've proved me wrong..."
She put some effort into looking suitable disappointed at him. Hell, if this didn't work, the boy was bloody well made of stone, "I think I'll go to my room now...Put away my things and stuff. I think I feel one of my headaches coming on..."

When Gabriella had claimed that this 'Jake' dude wasn't her boyfriend yet again, now in quite the aggravated voice, Adam had just shrugged and rolled his eyes, deciding to leave it before Gabriella really lost her temper- though the whole 'alcohol in her system' deal seemed to be calming her down, as she hadn't really yelled at anyone yet. Yeah, well, with Charlie in the room, that probably wouldn't last very long. He also ignored her plea for him to go and get her bottle.
With still some of the anger in his system, Adam turned around to Gabriella and said (well, snapped), "Although I don't doubt that tequila will calm me down some more, I want to keep a relatively clear head." He held off saying, especially when I'm dealing with two girls as beautiful as you, because he was still supposed to be 'mad'. Instead, he added, "Especially since the last time I told you all my problems we ended up kissing and that, Gabby, was how shit like this happened."
And then Charlie turned around and came back with the least fuss he'd seen all day, which surprised him. But the shock was nothing compared to what he felt when she actually apologized. He blinked several times, and I'm ashamed to say, fell for her sudden, slightly fake change of mood. Any small drop of anger that was left seeped away and he was left feeling exhausted, a little ashamed and slightly upset. Just like she had known he would in the first place.
"I- I am different," Adam said, still looking a little baffled, as though she was enchanting him to say all this stuff. Unfortunately, he was a guy, and insensitivity seemed to come naturally to guys, and he didn't - at that moment - make any move to stop the blonde from leaving. He just flopped down onto a sofa, with a sigh. Dude; it was clear, now, that not just women appeared to have mood swings anymore.
Guys, too, if he was anything to go by.
{Lame also. I know. >_<}

Bitch. No-one talked about her Uncle like that. Not even people who disliked him. Raising her wand, Gabby muttered 'Aguamenti' under her breath, aiming the jet of water that flowed out at Charlie. That would put her in her place.
It was hard for Gabby not to laugh at Charlie as she apologised, but she only let a small smirk flicker on her lips for a few seconds. Yawning, she tried to think of a reason for Adam to go after Charlie. She had lots. Charlie was prettier than Gabby, was manipulative and had screwed Adam. Hm, didn't look like Gabby stood much of a chance.
"Stop being so mad! Just... Just go after Charlie. You like her like, a lot... It's obvious, and she likes you... So, yeah." A small pout was on her lips, but other than that there was no sign of her reluctance. "At this point, I would be out the common room, but if a teacher saw me then I'd get a shit load of detention, so just pretend I'm not here." Gabby stretched out on the sofa and closed her eyes - if Charlie came back down, then they would be able to talk freely without worrying about Gabby being there, because she was 'asleep'.

Charlie, still being wary with Gabby, saw the jet of water coming, but wasn't quite quick enough to get completely out of the way. Cold water soaked the hem of her skirt, and dribbled slowly down her leg. She looked up at Gabriella, smoothing down the damp patch with her hand, and raised an eyebrow.
"You...splashed water on me? Was that meant to actually do something?", she asked, on the verge of bursting into giggles, but trying not to ruin the little mood she had going, "Sorry hun, that only works in Oz."
Good, it's working! Charlie suppressed her amusement, dropped her bags onto a near-by chair, and came to the opposite end of the couch that Adam had flopped down on. Leaning against it, she paused for a moment, before speaking again.
"I thought you were too...But then there's just this whole thing..." Charlie said, shrugging her shoulders, and perching on the arm of the couch. she smoothed down her skirt, and glanced back up at him, "This always happens to me. I start to like a guy...then he gets what he wants, and I'm left feeling like I've been screwed over. So many times. Ha, you'd think I'd have wised up to it by now..."

The jet of water that squirted out of Gabriella's wand and sailed gracefully through the common room air before splattering all over Charlie's skirt and legs seemed to move in slow motion as Adam watched it. He almost cringed, waiting for an explosion from the blonde Lioano, surprised when there wasn't much of one at all. She must be in a pretty decent mood (well, you know, considering), he supposed.
"Doesn't like me anymore," the male muttered in response to Gabby who was now reclined on the sofa, closing her eyes and appearing - to any ordinary passersby - to be asleep. But he wasn't very ordinary in the slightest, so he knew that she actually wasn't napping.
Charlie began to speak, and Adam sighed. "Don't put it like that." What, it made him look bad? Well, he had basically done that himself with the whole Gabby deal. "Sex with you wasn't what I wanted." he shook his head, thinking, and then backtracked, "Well, yeah, it was, but it wasn't, like... the only thing I wanted. I mean, I hadn't even spoken to Gabriella after we were together, and only a while before we slept together. It's not as if I was with you and her at the same kind of time."
He turned and aimed the rest of his speech at the 'sleeping' Gabriella. "I mean, I wasn't upset so much or anything, to see you making out with that dude a few minutes ago." He shrugged. "I was, I dunno... Surprised? I guess. I'd be surprised to see anyone doing that and drinking on the couch." He glanced sideways at Charlie, having sudden memories of the fun they'd had doing the same thing with the schnapps some time ago. "I mean, surprised to see it happen in broad daylight." Oh yes. The middle of the night, however, was just fine.
Adam shrugged, and continued. "I mean, I don't even know what the thing I had with you was, Gabby. A casual snog? We were never really together together, were we? Like boyfriend and girlfriend. There was always someone else, and it never really worked. To be honest, I don't even know what we were doing."
