Gabby was bored. Even with a little wine (which she had literally begged out of one of the boys in Seventh Year), it didn’t change her mood. There was no-one around to cure her boredom, or so she thought, so she lay on one of bright sofas in the Lioano common room, examining her nails, an empty bottle of wine – which, in her defence, had only been half full when she got it, and she’d had to share it – held loosely by the neck of the bottle in one of her hands.
“You want some more?” Gabby hadn’t noticed until now that the seventh year was still there, but let a small smile grace her lips. He had read her mind. “Mm, yes. What do you want in return?” It took her a few moments to register that his lips were on hers, and another to actually kiss back, but the boy’s lips were gone as soon as she did. “I’m Jake, by the way.” He muttered as he made his way to the stairs leading to the dormitory. “ Gabby.” She replied, lifting the wine bottle to her lips and tipping it upside down, a few drops of wine dropping into her mouth.
Gabby jumped as she heard a laugh a few metres in front of her, dropping the bottle and looking up to see who had made the noise. Jake. “My little sixth-year alcoholic.” He grinned and walked over to the pouting Gabby, a bottle of… well, something with alcohol in it in his left hand. Any protests that Gabriella was going to say were silenced with a firm, slightly rough kiss which she refused, pushing Jake’s head away. “Fine, no alcohol.” He muttered, pulling the bottle away from her grabbing hand. “What?” Gabby’s mouth hung open, eyes narrowed slightly in annoyance. “No kisses, no alcohol.” The boy shrugged, decided that she wanted her precious alcohol, and pressed his lips to hers again, letting Gabby take the bottle from his hand as she started to kiss him back.
“Tequila? You just want to get me drunk so that you can take advantage of me.” Gabby raised an eyebrow, but unscrewed the cap of the bottle. “Pretty much, yeah.” He replied, to which Gabriella laughed at and sipped the light brown liquid, fiddling with one of her hair extensions absent-mindedly.
Gabby was dressed in a pair of light denim shorts that finished a few centimetres above mid-thigh, a white tank-top and white four inch stilettos. Of course she had make-up on – heavy on the eyeliner and mascara, with smoky eye shadow on her eyelids.
“You want some?” Why did she just ask that question? “Nah, one of us has to stay sober.” Shrugging, Gabby drank some of the tequila again before allowing the boy to pin her down and kiss her rather fiercly. It was probably not the wisest thing to do in the Common Room, especially since some people had entered, one commenting about how Gabby was a complete whore, but she really didn’t care. And apparently ‘Jake’ didn’t either.

Well, lucky Gabriella. At least she had something to take her mind of the boredom. Adam himself had just wandered around the school for an hour or two, thinking about everything that had happened with... well, everyone. At Beauxbatons, secrets could never be kept. They always came out, one way or another, whether the keeper liked it or not. Curse of the school, perhaps? Or a blessing?
But whatever it was, thinking about it wasn't doing him any good. There was so much gossip around lately... and quite a bit of it centred around his family. Well, Scarlet in particular. Since they had fallen out (which was God knows how long ago), he hadn't spoken to the twins at all. He was somewhat pleased for Roxie- despite looking sad all the time, she had found herself a decent boyfriend. But then there was Scarlet.
Thanks to the rumours, every time he heard his sister's name, the word 'slut' came into his mind. That's what the rumours had been. He'd heard groups of girls giggling in the corner about how they were better than 'that Scarlet McElroy, always down in the bars picking up random guys' and he'd heard girls sobbing about how their boyfriends had left them, and how they were just sure it had something to do with Scarlet. Plus, the stunt she had pulled trying to break Jonathan and Roxie up had got her added infamy points.
She was hardly the most popular girl, nowadays.
When his mind drifted from those more troublesome topics, it went back to the attacks. The one on Intermise had been sooner than he'd thought, and it had shaken him up as much as it had everybody else. Scarlet had survived it, though, through some means or another, and of that he was glad. He just couldn't get th images out of his head from the Lioano attack, though. Nameless, faceless people dying at the hands of the Death Eaters. Even after all this time, he had dreams of coming so close to saving the people, only to be shot down himself at the very last minute.
Those dreams always woke him up, sweating and shaking and wishing there was someone with him. But there wasn't. He had been with Charlie that one time, but, well... there hadn't been much time to 'sleep' with them. And now it was just awkward, and Adam didn't like it. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do about it. 'Calmly and sensibly talking things over' wasn't one of his best traits. He wore the shirt she gave him all the time, though. He'd got it on now, with a pair of comfortable jeans.
The male yawned loudly, and walked somewhat cheerfully into the common room, just to stop dead in his tracks. His reaction to seeing the kissing couple was basically the same as everyone else's- until he saw the coloured hair and recognized who it was. Then he flushed. Gabriella. This was what they had been doing in the library not so long ago... It made him wonder just how many guys she'd had up against that bookcase around the same time as he.

Seeing Adam come into the common room and stand in front of them would be a much better experience if Gabby was just a little drunk before he had come in. But, unfortunately, she hadn't had enough time to drink the right amount of alcohol, so was only a little tipsy, if not completely sober.
She cursed under breath and pushed the boy who was currently on top of her away, sat up and fiddled with her extensions again. Gabby then stood and leaned against the edge of the sofa, sighing.
"Adam, I..." She began, looking at the ground. She felt like a toddler about to be scolded for disobeying 'the rules', or something like that. "I hadn't seen you in a while and I thought that you had forgotten about me and I hadn't seen you anywhere, and I thought you were with that Charlie girl anyway..." Gabby raised an eyebrow in his direction, folded her arms over her chest and walked towards the door leading to the girls’ dormitories, “It’s your call, Adam.” Gabby opened the door and closed it behind her, leaned against the wall and sunk down onto the floor, a smile lighting up her face. Smooth.

Believe me, it would have been a lot better for Adam if he'd have been less than sober upon meeting this, too. But hey, he'd experienced it before with the girl, so it didn't shock him that much. Not as much as it had made him flip out the last time. Who had she been with then, again? Adam couldn't remember, thinking about it, but he'd sue as hell never seen this guy - the one she had just been attached to - before.
In fact, had the circumstances been different, Adam might have laughed. He'd never been able to create this kind of reaction before by just entering a room. She'd actually pushed someone else away to talk - well, stutter - to him. Pretty interesting. When she said his name, he raised a single eyebrow, and then looked behind her to the guy. He probably wasn't very pleased with being interrupted- Adam had been there before, he knew what it was like.
Then Gabby started to blabber in what he supposed was an attempt at explaining...? Whatever it was, it made him stop and blink a little, trying to absorb all the information. How did she know about Charlie? Just that they knew each other? Because as far as he knew, nobody else knew just how well they knew each other... It wasn't gossip again, was it?
Just before Gabriella disappeared, Adam called after her, "Uh, no, Gabby, it's not. It's your call." After all, she had been with two other guys. He'd only been with one other girl. That tipped the balance, right?

"No it's not." She muttered under her breath, a pout forming on her lips. Gabby brought the bottle of tequila - which she had only just realised was still in her hand - to her lips and took quite a large mouthful and swallowed it. This proved to be a bad idea, as everyone knows that tequila is strong, but Gabby, unfortunately, had never had it.
"Well, what d'you expect me t' say?" She asked, not moving from her position on the floor. "More importantly - what do ya want me to say?" Gabby grabbed at the wall and pulled herself up, opened the door and stood slightly in front of it, kicking it open and closed with one of her feet while attempting to stay balanced standing on one foot.
“Because if you’re more interested in Miss Sonata,” There was a hint of disgust in her voice, “Then Jake and I have some unfinished business.” She motioned to the seventh year with one of her hands and raised an eyebrow. “But if it’s me you’re after, then I’ll send him packing. I told you it was your call.” Shrugging, Gabriella thought for a second before she opened her mouth to speak again, “Oh, and there’s always the matter of Lexi. Remember, the first boy? Yes, I could always go back to him, but if you don’t want me to, then…” He could finish the sentence by himself – it wasn’t hard to do.
Gabby brought the bottle to her lips again, leaning against the wall closest to her. “Decided yet?” God, she sounded ice cold when she said that. Gabby didn’t mean to speak in that tone, but it just came out that way. She yawned and closed her eyes for a few seconds, waiting for Adam to speak.

Adam frowned, and then shot back a little over-aggressively, "Well, could you blame me if I was more interested in Charlie?" He snorted. "She's beautiful. She doesn't seem like that much of a nut job, like most girls I take on. She didn't go and fuck anyone else while I was messing about with you." It struck him that he didn't actually know this, but it was better to act as though he did. He also raised his eyebrows at the mention of Lexi; if the rumours he'd heard were true, Alexys wouldn't think about getting back with Gabriella even if she did ask.
Adam laughed at Gabby's cold tone, and replied, "Hell no. But I know who I'm going to choose if you're going to go all bitch face on me." Well, at the rate he was going, he wouldn't have to chose, if Charlie walked in right now. Heck, he wouldn't even have a choice if she found out that he had been kissing Gabriella while he was technically - technically - with her as well. But that was just testing fate. Hopefully, karma wouldn't rear it's ugly head?
Yeah, well. We all know what hope did.
{Ack. >_< SHORT.}

"Wow Adam! You manage to make that both complimentary and insulting at the same time! Now, care to explain something to me about what the fuck is going on here?"
Charlie, two shopping bags in her hand and a dangerous little smile on her lips, stood a few feet from the entrance to the Common room. She had heard most of the little conversation between Adam and Gabriella in the last five minutes. She was somewhat surprised they hadn't noticed her yet, lingering by the doorway in a white pleated mini skirt, a pale green polo shirt, white knee socks and pristine trainers (she was going for the sporty-chic look today - it rather suited her). She cocked an eyebrow at Adam, expecting his reply. Charlie found it slightly ironic that he was even wearing the shirt she'd bought him on the evening they spent together - and quite an evening it had been. The only problem was that for some reason, things between them were jarred a little. It was something she'd never came across before, after sleeping with someone. She had the feeling that it was maybe due to the whole circumstances of it happening, with the attacks and them being friends, etc. Now, it occurred to her that perhaps it was because he'd been messing around with Miss Monroe behind her back, "Before I get old, please?"

"Oh, well thank-you, you stupid bastard, for basically telling me that I'm ugly! Really, that's so considerate of you, Adam! My God!" She sipped at the drink again, wondering if this stuff really was alcohol, because she had had around two mouthfuls of the stuff, and she would only be swaying a little if she was standing up straight, but she was currently leaning against the wall.
"Don't call me a bitch!" Gabby looked genuinely offended, and was a little. She wasn't being that bitchy, well, not to the point that you needed to be told about it. “Ugh. I can’t believe you called me a bitch. What is wrong with you?” Gabby narrowed her eyes at Adam, decided to ignore him and turned her attention to the girl who had just spoken – Charlie Sonata.
“Well, this boy kissed me after something went down with his best friend, then I got drunk and made out with someone, he found out and I apologised and we ended up making out in the library, then he screws you and he expects me to stay loyal. Pretty pathetic, no?” She rolled her eyes and approached Adam.
“It’s okay, sweetie, I forgive you.” She pressed her lips to his for a few seconds then turned away from him and opened the door which she had previously come out of. “Now I’m going to go and drink myself stupid. Have fun, hope everything resolves itself!” She lifted up the bottle of tequila and disappeared through the door and sat on the first step of the staircase – no point in going upstairs if she’s not going to have the ability to come down later.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Gabby tipped her head back and pressed the bottle onto her lips, taking a long gulp. That was more like it.

Adam blinked. "No, you're not ugly at all. It's just that-" He was cut off anyway was Gabby went on another mini-rant, and then he spun around when her aggression was focused on someone else. Someone that, for the first time since he'd met her, he had hoped wouldn't appear at all.
See? That's what hope did.
He exploded into stutters for a second after the next rant Gabriella gave about him to Charlie, and his words tumbled over each other in an attempt to get out first. "I didn't kiss you, you kissed me!" He spluttered some more, and then said, "And I didn't expect you to stay loyal! You had nothing to stay loyal to! We weren't even together!!"
When she moved towards him, Adam expected to get a slap in the face at the least and flinched, but she kissed him instead. Hope everything resolves itself? Well, fuck. Then she disappeared. "How do I always manage to get that girl stuck to my face?" he asked himself quietly for the second time that school year. Then he turned to Charlie.
Smiling faintly in an attempt to make the mood lighter - in usual, lame, Adam fashion - he said quietly, with a touch of fake cheer to his voice, "Look on the bright side, Adam. Things can't get any worse." Famous last words indeed.

By now, Charlie's bags had been deposited on the table beside her. She stood with her arms folded across her chest, looking incredulously at Adam as Gabby kissed him. Sweetie. Christ, it was enough to make her sick. She gave a little snort of laughter at his last sentence. How so very Adam.
"How about if I whip out my wand and hex you to the dark side of the moon?" she asked in a similar fake chipper voice. She unfolded her arms, and placed her hands on her hips, "Or better yet, do the same to your stupid ugly little girlfriend?"
His attempt at lame humor only annoyed Charlie this time. Couldn't he ever try to be serious, at least once? She scowled at Adam, and glanced at the door through which Gabriella had disappeared through. Charl didn't care if she was drunk or not. She'd better keep that door firmly shut, for her own sake if no one else's.
"Gabriella Monroe?? I mean, I know you have problems with getting girls and all, but if you're going to play away, couldn't you at least have made her pretty?" She said haughtily, cocking her head to the side a little, "Could you have found anyone tartier? Look at the state of her! I can't believe you'd do this with someone like her! You know Adam, you're a fucking joke sometimes."
((Ooh, meow! And sorry for general suckiness...))

Gabby ignored Adam’s protests, just drank some more from the bottle and half-listened to the conversation between the two. At Charlie’s mention of wands, Gabby hurried up the stairs and took her wand from its place on her bed, then made her way down the stairs, tripping and falling over. She cursed under her breath, stood up and walked down the stairs again, but slower this time.
At Charlie’s next comment, she opened the door and leaned against the wall next to it for support. “What was that?” Gabby raised an eyebrow, twirling her wand in her fingers. “I’m pretty good at using this, you know… Shouldn’t let my powers go to waste…” She examined her nails lazily, then looked up to see her reaction. “Or I could just go back to my drinking while you and Adam bitch about me.” Shrugging, Gabby moved slowly over to the sofa, trying hard not to stumble on her way. Succeeding in this task, she sat on the arm of the sofa, digging her nails into the material.
“Right, so, do you want me to hex your ugly ass, or go get hammered?” Simple question. She knew what the answer would be.

Charlie had been waiting for Adam's lame-ass response, and hadn't expected Gabriella to come through the door again.
"And is that supposed to intimidate me? Take a fucking look at yourself, Monroe. You're pathetic, and drunk. You'd probably do more damage to yourself than to me! So yeah, you go curl up in corner with your bottle of tequila and drink yourself stupid like the waste of space you really seem to be. Hey, you're halfway there already!"
Charlie was bordering on the whole "oh no you DI'INT" ghetto thing, using one hand to emphasize what she was saying, the other still on her hip. Her expression was somewhat amused - for her, it was as easy to take Gabby seriously as a novelty rubber chicken.
"Though girl, if you really wanted to make me happy you could go take a running jump out the astronomy tower." She said, and smiled pleasantly at Gabriella, "Either way, don't even fucking talk to me."

"Ugh. You'd better watch your back 'cause my Uncle--" She cut herself off then, cursing under her breath. No, she was not allowed to tell anyone that her Uncle was a mobster, because the police would probably be all annoying and get themselves involved.
Gabby raised her wand, trying to think of an appropriate spell to hex Charlie with. Her memory failed her this time, though and she pouted, standing up properly, though swaying a little. "I'm not drunk. Tipsy, perhaps, but I can still form proper words. So, I'm not drunk. Oh, Adam, have you decided yet?" Gabriella moved casually over to Charlie and sidled passed her, trying extremely hard not to fall over, which proved difficult, but not impossible.
