It had been five days since the last time Serphius had laid eyes on Alexys, and three since the incident in the Jardin de la Beaute with Cove and Cam. Since their co-incidental meeting when he'd been drunk, low and stupid, he'd taken to sticking with his Fina friend as much as he could. It was like a test for him. Cove served as the temporary replacement for Lexi, but Sephy could do any of the things with him as he could with Alexys. It was frustrating. He felt like a little boy being denied the treats and toys he'd grown to love.
At that particular moment in time of the day, it was breakfast, and the majority of Beauxbaton's students were in the Hall of Snow. The atmosphere was pretty heavy, seeing as it was still so soon after the Death Eaters attack. It was fairly quiet, too. Serphius and Cove hadn't really said much to each other as Sephy wasn't in the mood for chatting, though small smalls, and glances appeared often. They were sitting side by side. Serphius's plate was empty before him. He hadn't touched anything, as usual. He didn't notice what was on Cove's plate, if anything. One thing he did notice however, was that he was sitting close enough that their knees touched gently under the table. He liked that. It was almost intimate.
In his right hand, he held his goblet. It had held water a moment ago, but was now empty. Serphius rolled the stem of the cup between fore finger and thumb, watching it twirl back and forth with an air of un-interest. He glanced side-ways at Cove, and sighed thoughtfully.
(I'll bring in Lexi after you replllly =3)

Cove was sitting at the table eating beside Serphius, his lovely new friend. He had been spending more time with the Intermise as of late, which could probably be attributed to the fact that Elly was nowhere to be found, and that Lexi was not yet out and about. So for all of these reasons, and the fact that he enjoyed the younger boy's company whenever he was actually speaking and was a little open, he was eating breakfast with him. It was very quiet as of late, due to the Death Eater attack. Lately, Cove had this sense of dread... He knew something bad was going to happen, but he wasn't sure what, so he had simply shrugged it off as simply him going crazy or just adding it in to those dreadful nightmares.
On his plate was very little, surprisingly. Being denied his favorite food -- chocolate shake and fries -- he was being forced to eat half of a biscuit with some gravy over it. Alongside that was a few strawberries, and his goblet had been filled to the brim with water. They were out of cranberry juice, so Cove couldn't make his favorite drink, either. That was very frustrating to the boy, seeing as it was always a great way to start off his day. He looked over at Serphius, who was being quiet, as usual, and after taking a bite of biscuit, chewing, and swallowing he spoke up, after washing it down with water of course. "It's awfully quiet in here, Serphius... I don't much like it..." He shook his head and asked,"What do you want to do today?"

Serphius looked over Cove again, and smiled. "We all know why," he said quietly, his voice back to his normal steady, careful whisper, "And I'll do whatever you want to do today, if you'd like. I don't mind at all."
Sephy nodded, still smiling, before turning his attention back to his goblet. He hadn't planned to do much that day. perhaps go to the Medical Wing, and see if they'd let him in yet. Surely, after five days he'd be well enough to visit? His fingers tensed at the thought of it. He wanted to see him so badly.
Serphius was biting his bottom lip again, stealing glances of his friend every now and again. It took him a moment to notice there was a ripple of whispers going round the hall, and he looked up, not knowing what to expect. There was a clatter as the cup hit the table, then another as it rolled, and bounced off the floor. He stood up so quickly, that he caught his foot of the bench, and toppled backwards, before he scrambled up, his mouth agape.
"Alexys," he breathed.
Lexi stood at the other end of the table, grinning like an idiot. There was a small white plater over his nose, which was still a little bruised and sore looking. Around his neck he still bore the faint evidence of being throttled. Serphius's heart gave a tremendous leap, and he stumbled forward, almost breaking out into a run. Alexys moved forward quickly too. People were beginning to look, and there were a few snickers when they crashed together in a mad tangle of arms.
Serphius pulled back quickly, holding his friend at an arms length. There was a moment of scrutinizing silence, which was broken by a hissed "bastard", and the sound of a swiftly delivered slap. Before Lexi could give any sort of reply, he was cut off by Serphius crashing his lips against his. If there hadn't been people watching before, there certainly were a few gawking now, pointing and whispering to each other about the two boys having a hefty make-out session in the middle of the hall. There were a few wolf whistles, and at least one muffled cry of "gays!".
They broke apart from the deep, energetic but soft, almost reassuring kiss, and were grinning from ear to ear. Alexys's right cheek was red from the slap, and both of Sephy's were from the attention. He grabbed his friends hand, and dragged him back over to where Cove was sitting. A space was quickly made, and they sat down. Both boys were holding hands under the table, and Serphius let go first.
"Uh, we're back..." he said sheepishly, picking up the goblet from the floor.

Cove smiled and said,"Well, we could always try the hospital wing first before we plan anything else..." He finished his food, and began to sip from his goblet when the entire hall began to whisper. Curious, he replaced his goblet on the table and looked up, eyes falling on none other than Lexi. Those blue-gray eyes widened, and he watched as Serphius flew to him. The goblet clanged to the floor, and after his friend got up, he looked down at the goblet, deciding to pick it up. But he heard a slap, and he looked up to see Serphius had just slapped Lexi. He blinked, looking over as someone said something.
Then he looked up at hearing all the whistles, and he saw them having a decent make-out session. Well, that was certainly unexpected, almost as the slap moments before. Then Serphius was dragging Lexi back to the table, and they held hands as they sat down. He smiled and said,"Welcome back, Lexi! You've been missed, my friend." He sipped from his water and said,"Are you better now?" He hoped so, for Serphius's sake even more than the rest of them. There was something in his heart that sank, but he couldn't really understand it, so he pushed it aside. Some nasty voice in the back of his head told him that Serphius had only been using him as a source of comfort until Lexi was back, and that now that he was here, Cove would be useless again. The boy shook those thoughts right out of his head before looking back up at his friends with a pleasant smile on his face.

Serphius looked a little spaced out, with a warm, dazed expression on his face. Alexys grabbed his hand back again, and once more they were clasped under the table. With the other hand, he gave Cove an small, but enthusiastic wave, and a beaming smile.
"Yeah, I'm totally groovy, considering the circumstances. Bit worse for wear, but what do you expect, after having four or five people try to kill me repeatedly?" He said, trying to keep his voice bright, but he couldn't help the little quiver that crept in at the end, "So, I hope Serphius hasn't been much of a problem?"
Serphius either didn't hear, or didn't care. He'd abandoned the goblet, picked up a stray fork and was now distractedly poking at the table top with it. Lexi looked away, smiling, before turning back, and whispering something in Serphius's ear. The younger boy blushed, and shook his head, trying to not giggle.
"Later, later," He mumbled, though Alexys apparently wasn't taking no for an answer. He kissed Sephy's neck, and nibbled his earlobe teasingly, nudging him. He said something again, and Serphius laughed openly, but still pushed the apparently eager Lioano away.
"Later! I promise, but I said I'd stay with Cove today! You too, obviously. I think we should go out today, and celebrate, perhaps?"
Alexys frowned and sighed moodily. What the hell was up with him? They'd been away from each other for almost a week, and he didn't want to spend any time alone together. Later, later...Fine then! Lexi moved away from Serphius a little, not looking at the two boys. Evidently, he'd rather spend time with his new bum chum, rather than his best friend...

Cove grinned at Lexi and said,"It's good to see you on your feet, though." His smile faltered a little at the mention of people trying to kill his friend, and he caught the quiver in his voice. Man, he imagined that would be simply terrifying. He then lifted his goblet to his lips, drinking a little of the water. He set it back down, watching the liquid ripple inside the goblet before eventually setting it down.
He then looked over as Serphius mentioned his name, and he caught the frown and moody sigh, and he realized that he was keeping Lexi from what he wanted. Oh man, this was going to cause some troubles... He then looked at Lexi, forcing a pleasant smile on his face. "Oh yes... Um. Is there anywhere you would like to go, Lexi? Afterall, this will be to celebrate your release from the hospital wing. So, naturally, it's your choice." He waited patiently, hoping that Lexi wouldn't be angry with him, though truly and fairly this wasn't his fault. If Serphius had said he wanted to spend time with Lexi, Cove wouldn't have stopped him, but it was nice of him to want to include his friend in his plans as well...

"Well, I want to go to bed..." he said, not bother to hide the edge of sulkiness in his voice. And by his bed, he obviously meant Serphius's bed as he almost never slept in the Lioano dorms. He certainly wouldn't be sleeping there anytime soon, anyway. Sephy rolled his eyes, and leaned over to kiss Lexi quickly on the cheek.
"Don't be such a moody bastard, Alexys," Serphius said airly, "You can come, or we'll go alone! Or I'm sure someone else would be more than obliged to come with us..."
"I'm sure you could..."
"Yeah, we could. Now stop being mean...please? It's not like there's not going to be something in it for you...."
Lexi's air of casual moodiness slipped for a moment, and he perked up a little. Well, surely it would not be too much of an effort to go out for a few drinks...A bottle of wine or four couldn't hurt him any...
"....Could we go to Chapter:Augury?" he asked, raising his dark eyebrows slightly. Chapter:Augury was probably his favourite club in Paris. It was a cool, dark little "alternative" bar. People commonly mistook it for a gay bar, which it wasn't. The music was good, the drink was cheap. The son of the owner was a vague friend of his, so he could occasionally get in for free. Serphius nodded, and a grin broke out. He went to stand up.
"Not now, obviously," Sephy said, "Later."

Cove listened as they talked amongst themselves, vaguely listening. He felt a little out of place now. With Lexi back -- and obviously annoyed with him -- he felt very... odd. Like he was in their way or something. He felt like he should leave them, but Serphius had already pointed out that they were going to do something that day and invited Lexi along. His manners and kindness would not let him try and wiggle out of it now. It was far too late for that. Instead, he just sat there, eyes on his plate as he just scooted the food around his plate. At that point, he would have loved for an excuse to come along that could take him away from the two.
He stopped playing with his food and set his fork down, instead grabbing his water. He took a few sips of it before sitting it down, watching it once more. He then grabbed a straw, which was sitting on the table, and opened it, placing it in the drink. He swirled it around, listening as the ice collided with each other, not really paying much attention until Lexi mentioned a club. He stopped what he was doing and looked over at the two, nodding slightly. He was up for pretty much anything, really. I mean, he didn't have much of a choice now, right? He was going with them no matter what. This would be interesting. For once, he would be alone with Serphius and Lexi, without Gaara and Elly to distract him or to make it seem more... comfortable. Right now, he suddenly understood why it felt better in the group. Less pressure, really.
((Sorry it took so long, Pickle. I lost muse for Cove. T_T))

Serphius smiled slightly, and nodded to himself. Well, he guessed he could call that progress, but he still didn't understand why Lexi was being so difficult about it. He could be annoying when anyone was there, but with Cove, he seemed to be making an extra effort to be a brat. Serphius sighed softly, and turned to ask Cove if Chapter:Augury was okay with him. There was only silence though when he noticed that the Fina boy hadn't really been listening. Mistaking the uncomfortabily for lack of interest, he clenched his jaw a little, and sat down his fork on the empty plate in front of him.
"Fine," he said simply, pulling his hat down lower, and folding his arms, "Fine. You know w-what - you guys can go do whatever you want to do. Forget it - I can see you'd both rather not. I shan't play mother, okay? Forget it."
Alexys looked a little surprised, but for the most part pleased. He didn't have to go out - good!
"Does that mean we can go-" He began, looking hopeful.
"No it doesn't." Serphius interjected, teeth pressing hard on his lower lips as he bit down. From years of habit, it didn't hurt anymore. He didn't look at either boys. He was tired. He was fed up, and grouchy. Sephy knew he should be happy and excited that his best friend was alive and for the most part well....It was all rather confusing, why he was feeling this way.
He glanced sideways at Cove. Was it....?

Cove looked at Serphius as he spoke, blinking as his eyes widened slightly. What? He was confused. His eyebrows lowered slightly in confusion as he looked at him. What had he done? He swallowed, trying to think. Maybe... Maybe Serphius thought... he hadn't been paying attention? Yeah, maybe that was it. Oh no. Far from it... He just, uh, felt a little weird... Lexi didn't seem to want him there, and he felt awkward now what with Lexi being back and all that. Was there room for him, too? He didn't really think so... But he hoped that Serphius wouldn't forget him...
He looked away for a moment, trying to find the words, then said, staring at his plate, "I'm sorry, Serphius. I was listening... I was just... thinking..." It was a lame excuse, but there was no way he was going to speak up about what had really went on. It wouldn't be good. And it would make him seem selfish. "I don't mind, really. I'm up for whatever you'd like to do..." He finally looked up at the Intermise, blinking his sea-grey eyes. His eyes, unlike usual, were more guarded now, but it was hardly noticeable. He just had a lot of things on his mind lately...
((Sorry it took so long, Pickle. My Cove-muse died. T_T;; ))

Serphius's face fell when he heard Coves apology, and his temper seemed to loose it's steam. Alexy's, however, was just getting going.
"I-I'm...uhm...sorry for shouting at you, then," Sephy mumbled, not looking at Cove. Boy, did he feel like a jerk. Lexi glared at both boys angrily, a flash of red in his cheeks. So was he not getting an apology? Did he not deserve one too? And he was the one that didn't actually do anything...
"You know what - I'm sorry too," he said quietly, cutting across Serphius's mumbling, "Sorry I ever came back here! And to think I was actually looking forward to seeing you again Serphius. I think I'd rather be back in the hospital wing! I could have died then and you wouldn't have noticed!"
He thumped his fork into the wood of the table. Once more, people from the other tables were looking round and them again. Sephy looked shocked, and could feel himself heating up.
"Don't say things like that!", he cried, reaching for Alexys's hand. Lexi stood up abruptly, and took a few steps away from the bench, whilst facing the younger boy.
"Don't say you don't care? Fine! I'll say this instead; you can go swing for all I care! Go out with Cove! Go have some fun! Hell, if you bat those pretty lashes of yours, I'm sure your adorable Gaara-chan would just looove to join in!"
He spun on his heel, and stalked away, not caring that everyone was now listening in interestedly now. Serphius looked desperately from Cove, to his retreating friend. Should he go after him? Or should he stay, and let him cool off? No. It was best he went to console him, because God knows that boy could hold a grudge.
"Cove, I'm sorry about this! Really s-sorry!" he said, looking flustered. Serphius stood up, nearly tripping over the bench in his haste to give chase, "Please, wait here for me. This shouldn't take long!"
And with that, he dashed off towards the Hall door, which was just shutting.

Cove heard Serphius apologize, but before any words came to him as a response, Lexi cut in. His eyes flew to the Lioano. What was he saying? Why was he saying those things? Did he feel as though he didn't mean anything to Serphius anymore? What made him say those things to Serphius? Cove's eyes followed as Lexi threw the fork, stood up, shouted some more, and stalked out. People were watching, but he ignored them. They didn't matter. Then Serphius was speaking to him, apologizing and then telling him to wait here. His mouth parted to speak, but Serphius was already gone. He groaned, placing his head in his hands and blocking out the light. Boy, things were spinning out of control pretty fast lately...
He took a deep breath and sat there for a moment before pushing himself up from the table. He then walked away, heading for the door. His hand closed around the handle, and he swung it open, entering the hall. He leaned back against the wall after the door closed, his head resting against the hard surface as his eyes closed. What was happening? He was so lost... It was pathetic, really. Absolutely pathetic. Serphius had told him to wait, but he decided that he would prefer to find someplace quieter -- and without the staring; he really hated the staring -- to think and wait for his friend. "Bloody stupid this all is..." he muttered to himself. He wasn't referring to Serphius and Lexi, but rather to himself. Oh, yes. He was the stupid one this time around... He then pushed away from the wall and walked away, intending to head to the library or even the waterfall -- anywhere, really.
