Charlie left her hand on the door for just a moment, before letting it slide off, "Okay. Go then...It's not my place to try and stop you." Gaze lingering on him, she turned away, stalking back to her place. When she passed Scarlet, Roxie and Mirabelle, she stopped for a moment, looking quite disgusted.
"I hope you're all real proud of yourselves. I hope you're happy." She hissed, before leaving quickly, brush shoulders roughly with Mirabelle as she left.
Back at her place, Felicia looked up to see a stormy Charlie approaching. She sat down heavily, and said nothing, just picking up some pancakes. Felicia raised an eyebrow, and Charlie just smiled.
"Pass the syrup, bitch."

Adam stared back at her for a moment, before pulling open the door and going through it, letting it slam back with a bang that seemed to echo around the quietened hall.
Roxie watched Charlie push past, startling Mirabelle and causing her to take a step back. Something startled Roxie, though, as something else exploded from Scarlet's mouth. "Don't push Belle!" Roxie jumped as her sister said this, and her eyes swiveled from Mirabelle to Scarlet. "She didn't do anything then! I made the mistake, not her, so what right does that give you to shove anybody else around?"
Belle shook her head at the sixth year Intermise in exasperation, leaning back against a nearby wall. She knew that Charlie had a mighty short temper because she had seen it; and Scarlet hadn't. She should have just let her be glared at. Belle glanced up at the teachers table; they were all oblivious to the disruption, but Professor Darcy had looked up briefly when Adam had left.

Charlie put down her fork, in case she happened to get the strong urge to perhaps stab Scarlet with it. She didn't want to get blood on her white jeans.
"Adam didn't do anything - didn't stop you smacking him about the head, now did it?" She said through clenched teeth. Felicia seemed tense beside her, and what the others could see was she was actually holding onto the bottom of Charlie's shirt beneath the table, to stop her getting up, "Silly cow should have got out of my way."

Scarlet flushed slightly, but answered, "Why do you even care, Sonata? Why do you care about Adam? I can tell you now, he doesn't care about you. Adam only goes for those that are easy, anyhow, and never stays with them for long. I guess that's why he went for you.
Roxie stared at her in disbelief. That wasn't true! None of what Scarlet had just said was true! Scarlet seemed to vaguely know that herself, and bit her bottom lip. She hadn't meant to say it. It had just come out, when she was looking for ammunition.
Both sisters turned to see Mirabelle roll her eyes, from where she was still leaning against the wall, and sarcastically say, "Ouch, that hurt, Charlie, it really did." While examining her fingernails.

A nasty smile crept onto Charlie's lips, and she shook her head, "Silly girl. It's called loyalty! Not that you'd know much about that, I'm sure....Adam is friend. My friend. See, friends stick with friends, and usually, family sticks with family. I guess there's always exceptions to the rule, though..."
Charlie pushed Felicia's hand away from her. She didn't need to be held back. Her temper was receding into bitter cattiness, which wasn't quite as explosive, and rarely quite as physical. She ignored Mirabelle's sarcastic remark, and casually folded her arms across her chest.

"Yeah, I guess there is, seen as Adam abandoned me to go and help Belle, and stayed with his fanciable 'friend'. I made a stupid mistake, just. But Adam's obviously... touchy on the subject of you. I thought he was going to explode and hurt me, that's why I hit him. It was a mistake. Merlin, you'd think that you honestly think you've never made a mistake!" Scarlet shot back, her own arms extended, hands on her hips.
Roxie stood next to her, silent and hating the confrontation, her arms crossed, also. Belle had stopped looking at her fingernails, and was leaning on her elbows against the wall behind the sisters, listening too.

Charlie listened patiently, nodding uninterestedly as Scarlet spoke, "Well, I think I'd be the first one here to admit I made a mistake. Made many mistakes, actually. I could spend all day reciting them to you, but I honestly can't be fucked, and I honestly can't see what feeble point you're trying to prove. I haven't known Adam for very long, but he sure as hell isn't the type of person to hit a girl - especially his own sister - no matter how angry he was, and I'm also sure you know that too." her voice was cold, and calm, her eyes fixed levelly on Scarlet's, "Just go sit down, and be quiet. I don't actually want to hear whatever you're whining about..."

Scarlet scowled. She really hated this girl. She wasn't any younger, but Charlie acted as if she was. When Charlie spoke about Adam Scarlet flushed a little more, and said, sniffing indignantly, "I thought he was gonna. It was a reflex. I bet you'd do the same. Worse, even." She turned and walked toward the door, and Mirabelle followed. Roxie didn't. Roxie went and sat back in her own seat, meekly eating her cold toast.
When they reached the door, Mirabelle turned, and said, "I would tell you just what I think of you, Charlie Sonata, but that would be a waste of time. You couldn't care less about what anyone thinks of you, which shows just how incredibly stupid you are. You just care about yourself, and I can't wait for the day that someone puts you straight."
Then Scarlet left through the opened door, with Belle in tow.

Charlie watched the annoying gaggle of girls disperse with raised eyebrows.
"You know, Charlie," Said Felicia beside her, "She's actually quite right."
Charlie grinned at her friend, and with a small laugh picked up a pancake, and took a small bite.
"Oh, I know Fee. That's why you love me, innit?"
The two girls giggled, and carried on eating their breakfast as though nothing terribly eventful had happened.
