Alex listened to her apologize, but interrupted quietly when she mentioned what happened at the club. "I know you missed it. It was me, away on my little blaming spree again. I should have shoved the girl away quicker, I should have, I know that, and I know you didn't see it all. Perhaps I was trying to make myself feel like I hadn't done anything that bad. Perhaps I was blaming you not seeing everything from anger, seeing you and Adam. Maybe both. I don't know. But I know that it wasn't just you who made a mistake."
He stared at her, and he did know that she was telling the truth. I mean, why would she lie, after all? More words left his mouth. "There was no way she would have taken me away from you. There was nothing in the whole damn world that could've taken me away from you. I trusted you, goddammit, and I loved being around you. You made me happy, honestly. You did."
When Aimee mentioned her kiss with Adam, Alex couldn't help but give her a smile, and say, "I guess today isn't 'Appreciate Adam Day', then. A jab at his kisses... Ouch."
"I know you can't change things... But, man, you tipped the scale when you told me that you loved me. I didn't expect to hear that at all..." Strangely, it didn't freak him out as much as before. No, it quite pleased him, even in the circumstances that he was forced to find out. "Of course I want you back... But I'm still hurting quite a bit. And I'm glad that you told me... that you love me." Wow, that felt strange to say... She loved him.

She laughed slightly at his mention of Adam, and it rather sounded like she was trying not to cry, which she was. When he said it tipped the scales, she just looked at him. She wasn't sure what to make of all of this, so she stayed where she was, a little afraid he wouldn't want her to touch him yet.
She whispered,"I know you're still hurting..." She looked to the ceiling, trying to dry her eyes, but it wasn't working too well. "I wish I could just make it all go away, but I can't..." She looked him in the eyes and said,"But I hope we can get through this..." Her hand came to her heart, pressing over it. It was racing, she knew, but it was a little tight.
"I'm not sure if I can ever be okay without you..." That was the complete and total truth, and it was obvious as another tear rolled down her cheek. She hesitated, but her other hand slowly cupped his face in her hand. She hoped he wouldn't pull away or anything, because that little contact with him was already calming her. "If you need more time, that's fine... I'll be waiting for you..." She let her hand drop slowly, watching him and waiting...

He sighed, and said, "So do I." That was the absolute truth, as well. He cringed at what she said next, and the single tear that came with it. It hurt him to see her so, so sad. He had never made such an impact on a person before. He glanced down at her hand on his cheek, but made no move. It dropped, and he immediately missed her warmth.
Lifting up one hand, Alexander brushed the tear from her own cheek. It fell to the floor, freezing where it landed.
Then he looked down at the hand in her lap, and placed a hand over it. He stared at her for a second, as if trying to read her mind and feelings, before whispering, "... Maybe I don't want you to have to wait..." Then he shook his head, and blinked. "But- I... don't know. This won't happen again, will it?" It was a stupid question to ask, but he just had to know, had to hear her answer.
{Short. =(}

She felt his hand on her cheek, and she realized just then how much she had missed that simple touch, that connection to another person. She closed her eyes until the warmth was gone, looking up into his eyes. When he took her hand in his, she looked down at their joined hands. When he said he might not want her to wait, she looked back up at him.
"But- I... don't know. This won't happen again, will it?"
She held his gaze, all the emotions she was feeling showing in her eyes. It was almost like a book, so readable. There was such sadness, but the simple touch of him brought her indescribable happiness. "Alex..." She laid her other hand over the one he had covered her own with. "It was never supposed to happen to begin with... And I will never let it happen again." That was a promise she intended to hold and never break. She bit her lip before releasing it, seeing as it actually hurt a little. She licked it, tasting the blood. She had actually forgotten that she had bit it back in the hall... But that was the least of her worries right now, and she waited for Alex's response with a racing heart, nearly holding her breath.

He listened to her reply carefully, searching her whole face with his gray eyes, trying to find even one single falter that would imply that everything she was saying was just a lie. A big, fat, incredibly painful lie.
He found none.
The Lioano nodded slowly, before leaning forward and giving her a small kiss on the lips. He had a little smile on his own lips as he said, "I think I can trust you. That means, Miss Reynolds, that I forgive you. And, hopefully, you forgive me some for being a bit of a twat... Anyhow, we're back on, I suppose, so stop bloody crying!" He smiled again. "You make me want to bang my head against the wall when you look so heartbroken."
{Oh my God, Bleh-y ness.}

She smiled as he kissed her lips lightly, and when he said he forgave her, she couldn't help but let a few more tears slide down her cheeks. These, though, were out of pure happiness. She flung her arms around his neck and buried her head in his shoulder, closing her eyes. "Of course I forgive you... You had every right to be mad at me..." She lifted her head and wiped her eyes, laughing slightly as she rested her head on his shoulder, facing his neck. She just stayed there, her eyes slightly open, and smiled. Words couldn't begin to describe how happy she was to have him back now... And she wasn't going to try. She held him tightly, as though she was afraid if she let go he would disappear, like it was just a dream...
