Ash had just come back from the courtyard. She hadn't known that dinner had already started, due to her falling into a conversation with Serphius. A boy in Intermise a year below herself. Ash had finally caught sight of the time, her and Serphius had hurried to the dining hall. Hoping to catch the last part of dinner perhaps.
Ash was content that she had made a new friend, with someone who seemed to have just a hard a time with making friends as her. However, in a different way. She slid onto the bench, and looked about. She started giggling, "Well, we made it in time for dessert" She grabbed a piece of cherry cheesecake. At least it had fruit in it right? She dug into it. Little by little bite she finished it off. Looking around the table for some other delectable to eat.

Serphius followed Ashlei obediently into the Hall of Snow. He smirked as the delicious aroma of the school's excellent food teased his senses, and tugged at his stomach.
"Mm, dessert, the best part of the meal..." He said quietly, eying up the less than ample space beside Ashlei. He swallowed, and slid into it, trying his best not to touch her, or the person on the other side of him.
Serphius pulled his plate close to him, and took a small slice of chocolate cake. He looked at it curiously, prodding it with his fork. Did he really want to eat it?

Ashlei laughed as she turned to see Serphius prodding at his cake. She grabbed a strawberry tart and discarded the tin cup onto her plate. Biting into the sweet pastry. Her eyes rolled up as she groaned. That was a sweet one. Good strawberries on the top.
"Indeed, dessert is the best part of the meal" She finally answered him, a smile on her lips as she took another bite of the tart. "And this tart is simply delicious"

"Mm, yes..." He said quietly. His fork was lying of his plate, beside the picked apart, though uneaten, slice of cake. Serphius rested his head in his hand, and picked up his goblet, turning it in his fingers. It felt smooth, and cool. His dark eyes, however, were watching the people around him warily, watching them converse, and laugh, and eat and drink. Quickly, Serphius averted his gaze away, back to the chocolaty mess on his plate. It made him feel quite disgusted, just to even look at it.

Ash chuckled slightly as she overheard a joke by one of her fellow seventh years. She turned her eyes back to Serphius who looked anything but happy. She frowned, and tilted her head slightly. Chocolate curls falling from her shoulder to drape like a curtain. About two inches from touching the table. "Whats up?" She asked.
She had finished her tart and had just begun to nibble on a peice of watermelon. It now saw neglected on her plate, as she watched Serphius. He looked, disgusted.

Serphius dragged his gaze from the plate to look at Ashlei.
"Oh, nothing. I'm fine...just...not very hungry..." It was a bare faced lie and a fake smile to go with it. She would see through it right away, no doubt, but he wasn't very good at lying about things.

"Oh okay..."She turned back to her watermelon but instead of eating it she whispered, "You don't seriously expect me to beleive that do you?" She glanced up to his face, chocolate eyes narrowed. She picked up her peice of watermelon and chewed on a little peice of heaven. "Spill" She said, meaning for him to tell her what is really up. First of all, Serphius just doesn't seem to smile. She had seen that little one in the courtyard, the one he flashed her now was so phoney. She almost choked on her watermelon thinking about it.
She turned her head and looked him in the eye. Waiting for an explanation, a valid one.

"It's nothing, I swear. I'm not hungry, I don't want to eat it. It's nothing, please, it's nothing..." Serphius insisted with a voice barely above a whisper. He looked even paler than before, if that was possibly, and a little bit stressed.
"I think - I think I need to go." He looked away from her, and shut it dark doe eyes, shutting out the light, and sights all around him. He didn't want to see them.

Woah! This kid was gonna have a mental breakdown in a second. Ashlei, turned and got up. She tugged on his shirt sleeve. "Come on, lets go back to the courtyard...I have a few questions for you" She said softly, looking down at him with her large chocolate eyes. She swore he was about to start quivering and cringing like a hurt animal in a second. What was making him act this way?
"Will you come with me?" She asked, realizing maybe he didn't want to come with her to the courtyard and answer questions. Maybe he just wanted to be left alone. She waited, standing beside the bench. Waited to see if he would come, or walk out.

Serphius recoiled slightly when Ashlei tugged on his sleeve. He glanced up at her, then to the door. He wanted peace, he wanted solitude, and preferably darkness, but she wanted answers.
"Fine...I - I'll come with you..." He mumbled, standing up quickly. Serphius wobbled slightly for a moment, but regained his balance, looking dreadfully ashamed.
He made his was towards the door, watching the snow fall above his head, and how it disappeared just before it touched him. He wanted it to fall. He wanted to feeling he biting wet coldness of his skin. But it always faded away, just before he could.

She felt his heisitation, she could see it on his face. She walked beside him, her chocolate gaze watching him intently. He was acting so peculiar suddenly. She narrowed her eyes and watched him through her thick lashes. She opened the wood door's and walked out, heading through the hallways toward the courtyard. Her blue skirt gently swaying with each of her steps, chocolate curls falling peacefully onto her shoulders.
She was concerned. Serphius was still a wonder to her, still a shadow. Yet, she couldn't help but want to help him. Ash had no idea why, but she felt like what Serphius needed at this momment, was a friend. Not to be left alone, or slink into shadow.
O.o.c// Just use the same thread we were before. No sense making another. lol xDD
