Biography: Matt grew up in Ontario, Canada with both of his parents. His father was obsessed with his job, and his mother was always out partying with her friends. He was often left alone at home. He had no friends, and he learned some of life's crueler jokes during his childhood. He was a quiet boy, listening to everything going on around him so he could know more. He was always eager to learn, and had an almost insatiable appetite for knowledge. He played chess on his own a lot, or against the computer his family owned. They were very well off, and even though his mother spent so much money, they still had plenty to spare. His father was some big CEO of a huge company. His mother, the witch, was always spending it. His father never cared; he was never home.
When he was 7, he began to hear his parents arguing more and more. He took no notice of it. He didn't much care for them. Afterall, they were never there for him. He was just some big mistake to them, something that was never supposed to happen. They weren't ready for kids. They would never be ready for kids. So he practically raised himself. He learned to cook when he was left home alone with no dinner. He was a fast learner, and he somewhat liked to cook. He was good at it, that was certain. So he was able to keep himself fed and cared for. He was more mature than the kids twice his age at that point, and he still had problems making friends. He knew he was a wizard, for he had discovered his magic in his room. He had even learned to control it.
When he was 11, his mother took him to get his wand. He soon after began to be homeschooled. His father wouldn't hear of him being sent off to some school. Besides, his mother didn't know of any that were close enough to home. They were all so far away. She wouldn't have it either. So his education was mostly through books and what little his mother taught him. That is, until she got smart enough to call a friend who used to be a professor. He came to stay with the family and taught Matt everything he could. He had no problem with it, and he was paid generously, it appeared. Of course, around this time, it was discovered by Matt that his father was having an affair. He said nothing, but merely left, and stayed in his room for a while, thinking. He ignored the shouts from downstairs and blared his music. Three Days Grace was his survival now.
Soon, his parents got a divorce. His mother got a large amount of money from his father, and his father disappeared, never seen by them again. His mother soon took up with his professor, and they were married within a month. He still taught Matt, just as his step-father. Matt watched without a care. He just needed the education if he planned on continuing on with his life. So he needed his mother and step-father. At least, for now he did. Once he was able to find a good school, he was out of there. He would be glad to see the last of his home, and he wouldn't go back. Not until either one of them died. So, he made plans. He decided that he would get out, and after his seventeenth birthday, he would find a place to stay on his own, away from them.
On his fifteenth birthday, they moved to London, England. He didn't much care. He had never had any friends there, anyway. He had people who thought they were his friends, but they weren't. He went through girlfriends more than anyone he knew. There was at least a new one every week. He just couldn't stay tied down. There was nothing there for him. He just used them and moved on, and most of them didn't mind it. He was quickly labeled the 'bad boy' in London, a reputation he fulfilled rather well. He had a few run-ins with the police there, and he had even been in jail once. He had been drunk in public. He didn't care, and neither did his mother or step-father. They didn't care what he did. He paid bail, and he was out the next day with a warning.
Of course, this didn't stop him. He still got drunk and used girls just as much as he used to. When he was sixteen, he started looking for a schol. Rumors came to him of a school called Beauxbatons Academy. He began researching it, and eventually he found more about it. By then, he was already seventeen. He then sent in an application, and he was accepted. He packed all of his things, spent one last wild night in the club, and left town. He left his mother and step-father with one last goodbye note. He had quite enough money in his bank, and they would transfer some if they needed to. So, he was perfectly fine with this. They didn't care, either. Now they had the house to themselves; not that he was ever home anyway. So he came to France, and after some searching, he found the school's location. It was to be his new home. Thank God.
Personality: Matt is a very complex guy. He can be charming and kind one minute, and then he can be ticked off and rude the next. It depends on what his mood is, and it also depends on what you say or do. He is usually quiet and observes, but he won't hesitate to join in a conversation or start one if he feels it will help him in some way. He isn't one for long relationships with girls. He goes more for one-night stands or just leaving it at the dancing and drinks at the club. He made it a rule never to keep a girl for longer than a week at most. He doesn't see himself breaking it any time soon, either.
He can be very persuasive when he needs to be, and he always seems slightly mysterious. He never tells anyone about his past. If he tells you anything, consider yourself lucky. That means he considers you a friend, and unless you betray him, he is a very loyal friend. He hasn't had many of those in his life, though, so don't count on it happening very easily. You'll have to work hard for it. He is also sarcastic at times. He doesn't care if it gets him into trouble. He thinks before he speaks, always. He knows if it will get him into trouble or not, and if he says it, he obviously doesn't care about the consequences. He tends to keep his emotions guarded. His eyes seem blank at times, but if he's trying to charm a girl, they'll show amusement or interest. He rarely shows expressions on his face, either, even when he's angry. He'll smile from time to time, though, and when he does, it's a wonderful sight.
He also tends to stay away from those whose lives revolve around sports and the like. He hates sports. He truly does. He enjoyed hockey at one point, but he lost the love of the game when his father left. Afterall, the old man was the only reason he had went. After that, he couldn't stand it anymore. So he stopped going to games. He usually prefers to talk to those who can do something for them or who are intelligent lifeforms that he could have a true conversation with. Also, he is far from being good. He is a lot closer to the evil side, but he isn't quite there yet. With a few more nudges and circumstances, that will most likely be the direction his life's road takes.
Appearance: Matt is 6'1" and weighs about 163. He had black hair that falls just below his eyes. It ia longer in hte back and on the sides. He has gorgeous blue eyes, and they intensify depending on the colors he wears. He is usually dressed in dark jeans that fit rather tight and a tight t-shirt. They are still a little loose, but they aren't baggy, far from it. He also wears a black leather belt with silver studs. He wears a light blue bracelet on his left wrist and a thin, light brown bracelet on the same wrist. His skin is tanned, just not too much so.
His body is well built. It is muscular, but not grossly so. He has a six pack, and he has muscles in his arms, but they aren't huge. He's not one for bulkiness. He prefers to be lean and in great shape to huge and wrestler-muscular. Those kind of people gross him out a little. He wears a long-sleeve black shirt with a lighter colored short-sleeved shirt over it from time to time. His shoes are black tennis shoes with white stripes. He'll aslo throw on a gray hoodie from time to time if it's cold out, especially if he wants to run to think. He will wear a brown leather jacket pushed up to the elbow and faded jeans if he feels like going out, and when he wants to be somewhat dressy, he will wear a collared shirt over a t-shirt.
Other: Matt is single. He is not looking; he only wants one-night stands.
Role-Playing Sample: I play Aimee Reynolds.
