A soft sigh escaped the young woman's pale lips as she stepped into the beautiful garden. It was one of her favorite places to be, although that was a fact that seemed to go unknown by most of the castle. What was more known was her careless ways with boys. She was long past caring about the rumors that flickered around the castle, though Alex Wilson was to rumors as moths were drawn to candelight. Ironically, that was one of her favorite ways to play the boys. Moth to candle. Or flame, whatever the phrase was.
And she was always the flame.
Her long, dark, wavy hair was in a messy bun, a few tendrils framing her face. Hazel eyes darted around the gardens, lightly lined with black eyeliner and mascara. Her skin still had a bit of a tanned glow, from her summer spent on the beaches. A small smile formed on her lips as she saw something that was worthwhile. A tiny fairy, probably escaped from one of the classrooms had floated over to the fountains. Alex raised her camera and click. It would be a lovely picture, when she finally got around to developing it.
Photography was one of her secret passions, only her family had managed to know about it, because they were some of her favorite things to take pictures of. There was a paticularly funny magical picture up in her dormitory of one of her younger cousins, flying around on a miniature broom inside his house and about ten adults chasing after him before he smashed into a vase.
The frenchwoman was clad in a simple pair of blue jeans and a rather lowcute white lace camisole, forgoing the usual uniform. But of course, she had a heating charm so she wouldn't completely freeze. That would be rather unfortunate. A rather charming pair of Jimmy Choos were on her feet as she made her way across the garden, hoping to get a different angle of the fairy and the fountain before the fairy flew off.

It was usually so very peaceful in the garden. It was a place for people to sit and talk quietly and just get along- rarely things got sour there. The place seemed to have... a naturally calming aura on people who went there with a relatively normal mood. It was a nice place. The last place in the entire school that one would expect to hear the Head Girl, Mirabelle Miette, yelling at someone in.
In fact, most places wouldn't be expected to hear her yelling in, because she was generally a quiet but firm kind of person. Not now, however.
"For the love of Merlin, Brady!" the blonde was hissing loudly (more like a quiet screech, actually) as she swerved around a hedge and entered Le Jardin de la Beauté. "Go away! Didn't I make myself clear enough last week when I put you in a week's detention? Get off. This is so getting back to Professor Darcy. She's going to-"
The frustrated seventh year was cut off, apparently, as the male standing beside her muttered something incoherent. His tone was clearly amused and teasing, however, but Belle didn't seem to think so. She gave him as hard a shove as she could muster - the girl was hardly strong, and even less so after the attack - and snapped, "Get off me! God, you're such a- such a-"
"An asshole? A loser? A jackass?" the Lioano cut in again, stepping in front of her and grinning like he was having fun. "Yeah, I heard. Also, darling, you don't have to call me God. Jason will do." And, in fact, he was having fun. This was Jason, remember. After losing the bet that he could get any girl to Caitriona, he was feeling a little odd.
Nothing a couple of chases and one night stands wouldn't fix, right?
Right. It just so happened that the Head Girl was always around - trying to catch people out doing stuff that they weren't supposed to, he supposed - and she was hot and she had a personality. Even if it was a personality that was well on the way to hating him. Oh well- it wasn't as if he'd never had to win over a girl before. This one would be a piece of cake. It wasn't like she had a boyfriend or she liked someone else.
Or so he thought, anyway.
"You're really getting to be a pain in my ass, you know that?" Mirabelle snapped, seizing the front of his blue t-shirt and pushing him again. Merlin, he'd even driven her to swearing at him. She had been in a good mood, until he came along and dragged her out of the halls to harass her all the way down to the fountains and the garden.
After all, it was getting quite difficult for her to be happy. Difficult feelings for different people, and all that stuff. But she was trying. It was a warm day - thank God for the cold having decided to piss off, and the sun to come out - and she got to wear her white skirt and her little red top with the little bow on the front, and her pretty red sandals. It would have been a good day. It should have been. But the Jason Brady frigging showed up and everything started sucking again.
Jason snorted. "I won't be the only thing in y-"
Belle shot him a disgusted look. "Shut up, you creep. And go away! If I have to tell you one more time I'll make sure you stay in the castle for so long you'll forget what the sky looks like. If anyone sees me anywhere near you... well, you know what people will say. And they will be wrong."
Her dark eyes widened slightly, then, as fell on Alex, and she paused. The other girl had probably heard her yelling at Jason- and it wasn't a very good example to set, really. Taking a slight breath, she lifted a hand and gave Jason one last push away, before saying, "Um, hi. I don't believe we've properly met. I'm Mirabelle Miette, Intermise house."
Note the 'properly' in that sentence. It was highly likely that they'd already heard of one another. Mirabelle was Head Girl, and Alex was... Alex. People knew Alex, right? If not, she had the kind of face that looked awfully familiar to people upon meeting them. But whatever.
At least Jason was being quiet. Probably just because he was taking in the two beautiful girls in his midst, but hey. Whatever worked to make him stop with her harassing.

Alex had moved to get a different shot of the fairy in the fountain when she had heard two voices. Two very loud voices. The young woman briefly turned her head to see a boy that she easily recognized as Jason Brady and the Head Girl. Huh. Interesting. Jason was one of the boys that had continually broke her friends's hearts and she hadn't gotten around to getting a little bit of revenge on him for that. Despite her reputation, Alex had a far amount of pride and she wasn't going to become someone's girltoy, despite the fact she had about four boy toys at the very moment.
When she turned her head back, the fairy was gone. Damnit. A small sigh escaped her lips, wishing very much that the pair would leave or at least, be quiet. Honestly, it seemed like nothing but sexual tension to her and that could easily be resolved with a quick go in a broom closet. Alex's green eyes flickered across the fountain, half-heartedly listening the the pair argue. Traces of amusement flickered across her features. Ah, listening to some people argue could be amusing at times.
The fairy had come back for a brief moment, hidden behind a bush. Alex saw this and moved to get another picture when she heard the girl introduce herself. The fairy fluttered off once again and Alex groaned inwardly. She had only gotten one shot of the damn thing, thanks to the Head Girl and the manwhore.
Alex, still, put on her most charming smile as she turned to face the girl. Seeing her hand, she shook it, her gaze meeting the Head Girl's. "Alex Wilson, Liano House." She introduced herself as she withdrew her hand from the girl's, holding the strap on her camera carefully in one hand. Merlin, if she dropped it, she'd be furious. Her father had given it to her when she was a little girl and she absolutely adored it. Alex's eyes briefly shifted over to Jason, arching a perfectly groomed eyebrow at him, a small smirk toying on her features before settling back on the Head Girl.

Ew. If Alex had so much as suggested that the anger between Jace and Belle was anything like sexual tension to the Head Girl, she would perhaps even have got her wand out and threatened to hex the other girl's ass. And, considering the intelligent girl wasn't usually one for violence, that was something. She really didn't like the idea of having anything to do with Jason Brady. And she dreaded the thought of perhaps having to tutor him for lessons, when they went back.
Jason, however? He was the complete opposite. He'd like nothing more than to find out how good the Head Girl could be in that broom closet that Alex was thinking of. But ever managing to find out how good she was... well. If he kept on harassing her as he had been today, that slim chance became an even slimmer chance. In fact, it was impossible, because Brady was the last person on Belle's mind that she was having possible thoughts about.
But hey, for now? He was silent. His blue eyes were, instead, looking at Alex. She was pretty, too. Possibly prettier. Probably nicer, but he didn't really know that. Also, she most likely didn't want to rip out his guts and feed them to whatever might lie in the lake, like Mirabelle appeared to. Hm, what a good start. He'd gotten off to a decent start with the girls in Beauxbatons- in Aly's case, at the pool, they were throwing themselves at him.
Well, actually, she'd fallen at him and landed on his lounger by mistake, but whatever. It sounded cooler the other way.
"Nice to meet you," the blonde female replied, letting her hands lock behind her back. She glanced around, looking for other people and wishing, just wishing, for the first time in about a month, that Emerald was there for her to rush off with. Emerald wouldn't hesitate on giving Jason a very painful warning and getting him to stay away from her. She even vaguely wished that she could see Roxie, even though their friendship was on some very dangerous rocks, and if it tipped, they could easily become more hostile than friendly.
"Very nice to meet you," Jason added on the end of Mirabelle's sentence. "You're a sight for sore eyes, I can tell you that." He supposed she'd be able to guess what he and Belle had been arguing about - well, Belle arguing, Jason having an indecent amount of fun - but he didn't really mind. Chances were, she knew what he was like already anyway. He also didn't seem to mind the slight insult to Belle's appearance - pretty that she was - that he'd said with the very last words. Eh, she was rejecting him. She should get used to it?

Alex arched at eyebrow at Jason's comments. She wasn't quite sure what they meant and if they were an innuendo or not but she certainly didn't want to discover the true meaning. Besides, she was pretty sure it was an insult to the Head Girl. The young woman flicked a lock of hair over her shoulder, her gaze remaining on Jason.
"Oh, really? And why's that?"
The question was rhetorical and spoke in a wry tone as her gaze shifted over to the Head Girl. Everything she had heard about Jason was pretty much parallel to her so there really was no reason for her to be snippy with him. Alex was many things but she certainly wasn't a hypocrite. But she could be a little bitchy at numerous occasions for no reason, so no one would give it much thought.
"Likewise." She added, her gaze remaining on the Head girl, a small smile tugging on the corner of her lips.

With Jason, you should always assume that it was an insult. Because when it was from his mouth, if a comment sounded vaguely offensive, it probably had been. He had a habit of making his words sound slightly vague sometimes, which made people not fully understand what he was trying to say behind the smirk and the teasing eyes.
Oh, and Alex's question? It might have been rhetorical, but Jace made quite the show of answering it to the best of his ability anyway.
"Because when you've got this old grump," He paused to motion to his side at Mirabelle for a second. "latched onto your side all day with a glare that could make our lovely ol' Potions Master quail, it really is a sight for sore eyes to see someone as pretty as you- without a scowl on her face." Again, he glanced at Belle's angry features, and added, "And man, are my eyes sore."
The Head Girl looked close to growling and clawing his eyes out. "I think you'll find," she began. "that you were the one latched onto my side. I've been trying to get rid of your annoying, grinning face all day long but you keep bloody coming back! I don't understand why you can't just get l- Why are you smiling?"
Jason snorted, and looked at Alex. "She's in denial. Can't you see the intense passion for me, burning there in her glaring dark eyes? Oh, the misery. She'll come around."
Belle looked like she was about to explode. It wasn't often that people made fun of the quiet, pretty, blonde-haired head girl who's idea of fun was either sitting down with a book and endlessly reading, or getting on the Muggle computers in the library and trying to email Cal. "Oh, yes," she snorted sarcastically. "I feel an intense passion for you. I'd really love to hex you until you're blue."
The girl usually hated meeting new people in general, but even more so when said new people were watching someone she largely disliked taking the piss out of her. And, judging by Alex's little smile, finding it somewhat amusing.

Jonathan was having a pretty good day. The weather was nice, and in general, it had been a great day. He'd spent some time with Faith and Max, and he'd stopped by to visit Aimee and Matt. He'd also seen Aly who, despite her past, had become a very lovely lady. She seemed so fragile now, as though she could break at the touch. It was strange, but he rather liked the change, and he would still protect her with his life. First love, right? Besides, she was close to his sister and Aimee, and she'd been a good friend, with good advice and a good ear to listen to all of his problems. And he'd spent some time with Adam and Cal, before stopping back by the common room and catching Cove and Joe. He had so many friends; he loved it.
But right now, he just wanted to take a walk. He had come to the conclusion that things with Roxie were meant to be the way they were, and he didn't want to change them. Maybe he was meant to have his heart broken in such a way. Who knew? He didn't, but he didn't have to. He was satisfied with the results, which was freedom on his part to flirt with girls and just generally have fun. Besides, now he had more time with the guys, since he wasn't spending so much time with Roxie. Although, one person he hadn't seen today was Belle, and he was starting to miss his latest best friend. She was by far a sight he would love to see, someone who could make his day absolutely fantastic. He wasn't sure how he felt about her right now, but he knew he loved her company. That was enough for him.
Stepping into the gardens, he wandered aimlessly for a time, before hearing voices not too far off. Curious, he quietly walked over, not hurrying his pace in the slightest, until, coming around a corner, he spotted a familiar face: Belle. He smiled, seeing a pretty girl talking to her and another guy, who he knew by reputation only to be Jason Brady. Oh, brother. Stepping closer, and catching the gist of the conversation, he piped up,"Now now, Belle, I'd hate to have to clean up the mess after you finished with Mr. Brady over here." As he walked up beside her, he gave her a smile, his fingers gently brushing over her shoulder as he passed her to stand a little in front, turning his attention to Jason.
"You know, it may not be the wisest decision you've ever made to get on her bad side. She has a nasty side that I'm sure she wouldn't mind taking out on you; anger management and all that." His eyes flicked over to Belle again, that handsome smile widening as a glimmer of humor entered his eyes. He then turned his attention to Jason once more. "Besides, I believe that you would be neglecting this beautiful girl, who might be a bit jealous of the attention you seem to be giving Belle." He turned his attention now to Alex. "Hello, miss. Might I ask the name of such a lovely lady?" His smile was still there, although it was much less 'secret' as the one he had given Belle. He did, however, manage to offer his hand to her, stepping closer to do so.
((I couldn't resist! xD))

Alex had watched the scene between Jason and Belle with some amusement, her camera held lightly to her torso. "Have you two ever considered that it's just sexual tension that's making you two argue so much?" She asked with a small chuckle, a smirk tugging on her lips. "I've seen it happen all the time." The young woman added.
At the sound of another voice, she turned her head, the amusement only growing on her features. It was hardly a secret that the young woman was boy crazy, although she was extremely picky about who she would actually be with. His comments made her snigger, raising two eyebrows.
"I doubt I'd be jealous of any girl that captures the attention of Jason Brady, especially since that would mean I'd be jealous of the whole female population."
Alex flashed a charming grin at Jason before turning her attention back to the young man in front of her. Her eyes focused on his facial features, studying them for a few moments, her lips curving into a smile as she let her hand slid into his, giving it a small shake. "Alex. Alex Wilson."

Oh. There it was. The sexual tension comment.
"What?" The single word sort of... exploded out of the Head Girl, and Jason, who snorted from where he was standing nearby, wasn't really helping the situation. "Like, no!" Belle's voice was high-pitched and indignant, which really just made her want to blush some more.
And it made Jason want to laugh some more. And so he did. He was really quite amazed at how Mirabelle managed to take everything, even jokes, to offense. He barely took insults to offense. They just seemed to bounces of him. Unless he was in a bad mood, that is; then he'd have to choke a bitch. The Lioano male went to speak when there was suddenly someone new there.
Someone new speaking over him. Great.
His appearance came together with a relieved cry of "Jon!" from his fellow Head. Their new acquaintance - well, not so much an acquaintance to Belle, seen as she knew him well - swooped right into their conversation, and Jason rolled his eyes. Oh, score. Another person who'd be able to actually punish him for being such a knob-head by taking away his lunch break or something. Awesome.
Jason stayed silent after Jon's first statement, but the female didn't. "I know this sounds bad," Mirabelle began, her tone in all seriousness but with an added amusement in her dark eyes. "But can you please kick his sorry behind for me?"
Jason snorted, and rolled his eyes again. The Head Boy's words, that Belle had a nasty side and wouldn't mind taking it out on him, reached his ears and he replied with a smirk, "Yeah, I heard. And I saw. She was a few seconds away from mutating my lovely face the last time we met. Sexy when she's angry, don't you think?" Then his eyes turned to Alex, as Jonathan seemed to subtly suggest, and he listened to her reply.
The arrogant male seemed to twist what she'd said into, 'any girl whose attention gets caught by Jason Brady' instead of what it actually was, and he said, "Heh, you're right. I am very- hang on a sec." She appeared to be, in fact, saying that the entire female population caught his attention. Ultimately, he was a manwhore. Oh, right. He scowled.
This was going to be a fun day. Even more fun - not - if the Head Boy turned sour, too, because let's face it. He looked pretty good with a wand. Or a fist.

Jon laughed at Belle's comment and said,"Well, that depends on what he did. If he hurt you, yeah. If he tried to rape you, definitely, but if he's just annoying you... Well, probably wouldn't be allowed to do that. At least, according to 'the rules'." He smiled at her. "But maybe we could arrange something." An eyebrow was lifted and wagged a little at her as he said,"Besides, I'm in a good mood today... Beating people up usually puts me in a bad mood, and I'd rather not go there again." He shrugged and asked with an imitation of sheepishness,"Rain check?" He couldn't help it. He was in a good mood, and that implied some teasing along with promises of protecting her, and fighting really did put him in a bad mood.
His green eyes turned to Jason as he spoke up, and he struggled to restrain a laugh, turning it instead into a cough and carefully avoiding (hopefully) being hit by Belle or something. "Really? Only your face? I'm amazed. I'd have thought she'd have went for much more..." He looked at Belle, his eyes teasing, but underneath it all showing a slight tenderness only for her to see and understand. She would know that, despite his words, he cared about her a lot, and he would never try to hurt her. At least, he hoped she knew that, and he was praying that his eyes would tell her that while his mouth kept himself from getting in the 'let's annoy the crap out of these people' list that Jason seemed to have.
He smiled as Alex introduced herself. Feeling her smaller hand in his, he shook it a few times before bringing it to his lips and pressing a kiss to her knuckles, his eyes laughing and dancing with amusement before releasing her hand to reply,"It's a pleasure to meet you, Alex. Jonathan Halliwell, at your service, but you can call me Jon. Much easier." He smiled and said,"And what might one as lovely as yourself be doing on such a day as this?"

The exchange between the three managed to amuse the young woman. She found most arguments amusing, unless of course, she was in one. That did happen quite often though, jealous little girls whining about how she took the love of their love away. Those ones made her laugh though, she would've thought that most women would have some sense of dignity not to act like lovestruck fools.
Alex arched an eyebrow as Jon kissed the back of her hand, a rare look of approval and pleasure etched into her features. It took quite a bit to meet her high standards, she was quite the picky little thing. But the whole kissing on the back of her hand thing, that she most certainly did like. And it was in front of an audience. An audience of two but an audience none the less.
"I was fiddling with my camera before these two scared off my subject with a screaming match."
She gave Jason a rather pointed look. Somehow, pissing off the manwhore of the school seemed like a great deal of fun to her. And it'd be a bit of a revenge for breaking all of her friend's hearts. She'd have to do something about that, really. But her eyes shifted back to the young male in front of her.

Belle bit her lip, trying to phrase what Jason was doing to her in a way which might make Jon giving him a punch allowed. "Um... not just annoying," she said in a slightly defiant tone that sounded a little comical. "It's... sexual harassment! Surely that warrants a... smack or two. Or a thousand." She gave Jason a glare as she turned her head to the side slightly, but couldn't help grinning when she looked back at Jon.
Her smile softened a little when he mentioned that he was in a good mood today. She thought back immediately to the day in the café (where he had been in quite a low mood, in fact) and felt glad that he seemed to have recovered from that a little. She brushed her hand against his arm slightly, moving forward to do so. “I’m glad you’re in a good mood,” the Intermise said, nodding.
She’d let out an indignant huff at Jason’s words, but didn’t do much more because what he’d said was of the more flattering end of annoying her. Her eyebrow raised, however, at Jon’s cough-laugh, and she folded her arms. Then she laughed, and replied, “Oh, I would have. But like you said,” This part was said slightly teasing. “that would have been against ‘the rules‘.”
And oh, boy. Jonathan was already on the ‘let’s annoy the crap out of these people’ list of Jason’s because pretty much the whole world was. Plus, seen as Jon was the Head Boy and had a little more power over the other students (as teachers and the like also did), Jason was pretty much drawn to annoying him. It would be fun to see how far the Head boy would go before he snapped.
Yeah. Jason seemed mentally unstable, I know. But really, he was just childish. Hadn’t grown up yet.
Mirabelle involuntarily raised a hand to bite her nails (nervous habit) at the few things that happened next. Her expression was indignation (at Alex, apparently, for accusing her of frightening something away as if she’d done it on purpose), slight hurt and embarrassment (the Head Girl was not supposed to ‘scare things away’) and a little guilt (for having actually 'scared the thing away’).
Jason, however, merely laughed. If Alex thought the pointed look would annoy him in the slightest, it didn't. He liked irritating people, remember? Besides, he happened to be in quite a good mood, as well. That was easy to see, because if he wasn't... well. Mirabelle might just have been able to convince Jon to give him a punch if he hadn't been. Jason tended to get... frightening when he was angry. Even to someone who was good with a wand, like Belle.
