The place was dimely lit, and the sounds of people talking and laughing echoed around. Sitting in one of the darker corners, sat a girl that you would never think to see in a place like this. Never the less crying. Slender pale hand held onto a glass of gin. That hand leading up the long arm, to her shoulders. Which were slightly trembelling. A curtain of chocolate hued curls fell half in front of her oval shaped face. High cheekbones flushed, and her nose slightly red. Tears leaving watery streaks down the high cheeks. Falling from almond shaped brown eyes.
The glass came up to the full lips, as she downed another swallow. Sniffing slightly, and showing no real shame in crying in a public place. Most likely because she was rather too drunk now to notice. Still dressed in school uniform, the crisp white blouse, and blue and silver tie. Blue pleated skirt that gently flowed a few inches above the knee. Long legs neatly crossed, even if she was using the table edge as a support so that she didn't slump right out of her chair and bawl. Ashlei Soudai, is a wreck.
What would cause her to be like this? Usually a cheery girl, always laughing or smiling. Her lips trembled, as she thought about it again. She had just received an owl from her parents. Her brother Josh, whom went to a muggle school, died the night before. A quiet sob escaped her and she leaned an elbow on the table, her head cradled in her palm. Stupid, stupid Josh. The reason why he died? He snorted cocaine and happend to have an allergic reaction to it. He died, just like that. People think doing drugs just once won't hurt. They are chemicals though, and you have no idea how your body will react.
Just Josh's luck, he dies, first time, he dies. Ash felt like throwing a few things, because now she wasn't sad anymore. In her drunken stupor she was rather pissed about it. She stared off into nothing, tear streaked face, yet glaring eyes. Usually Ash didn't drink, but she had observed how it made her mother feel better. So Ash had decided, hey maybe this will soothe the pain. It did, temporarly she supposed. Kai wasn't there, probably wasn't even told yet. Poor Kai, he would have a total breakdown if he knew. Ash had a feeling her parents weren't going to tell him till he returned from school this year. Faggots.
Life is so unfair.
O.o.c// I was bored...had to get Ash out of my system. xDD

Adam had actually had a pretty easy night that night. The regulars were still drinking their way through his stock, but it wasn't quite as hectic. Most people were dancing, at any rate. The bar would get the occasional customer, and all the couples were making out or dancing by now.
He noticed a girl in the corner. She'd been there for a while, and she seemed to be crying. Ever curious, Adam turned to Matt and said,"You and Felicia cover for me?" Matt nodded, heading over to Felicia to let her know. He hopped over the bar, heading over to her table. He carried his own beer with him, and he slid into the seat beside her.
He looked at her, a little worried, and said,"Hey. What's wrong?" Asking her if she was okay would be stupid. She was crying, for God's sake! She obviously wasn't okay! Besides, he had to fill the whole owner's job thing, and this sort of thing fell under the job decription...

One of her delicate eyebrows were raised, as Adam came and sat down. Bauxbaton's badboy prefect, she knows who you are. You may not know Ash, but she knows almost everyone in her year. Almost. As he asked whats wrong, she couldn't bring herself in her drunken haze to tell him straight up. "Life, is like a guy, fucks you every chance it gets" She said, her words slightly slurred. At least she wasn't crying anymore. She smoothed her thumb over the ridge of the glass, then picked it up and drained the last swallow. The ice cubes clinking in the empty glass.
She looked at it, in one of those drunk sorrows, to realize that the gin was gone. Her large brown eyes unfocused, she turned her head and looked at Adam. "My brother is dead, thats whats wrong...dieing at fucking 14 is wrong! Doing fucked up shit like snorting cocain at 14 is fucking wrong! Life, has a sick sense of humour" She said, trying not to direct her anger at Adam. It wasn't his fault, and somewhere through that veil of alcohol the real Ash was trying to sustain herself. She sighed, and pointed at the glass. Then looked up at Adam, her eyes quite wide,
"No more of that for me" She looked rather like a child when she said it. As if she were suddenly deciding that maybe she wasn't that drunk yet, even if she was and another drink really wouldn't have made a difference. Somewhere inside her, commen sense was starting to kick her arse. She ran a hand through her chocolate curls, eyes threatening to drop tears again.

His eyebrows raised slightly at her first comment. Well. That certainly wasn't true in all cases, but he wasn't going to argue. Hey, he was going on quite a while without sex. And, to give him more points, he only had it when the other seemed even more willing than him. He didn't live off it or anything, but it wasn't something he refused to do.
He was silent, however, and listened as she spoke. Yeah, she'd heard of him, apparently. Been here for just over a month, and he was already becoming famous? Well, shit, he was pretty good if he could achieve that. "I'm sorry for your loss..." He wouldn't know what it was like to lose a brother, or a sister. He'd never had one to lose to begin with...
He looked at the empty glass as she spoke, wondering if she really meant what she said. Ah, well, he assumed he would find out soon enough. "I wouldn't know what it's like, but I can imagine it's horrible... I can't even begin to imagine it, and I'm not sure I'd want to..." He looked at her now. "I don't have siblings, but if there's anything I can do, let me know..."

Ash watched him for a few seconds. "No, there really isn't anything anyone can do," she shook her head, her lower lip sticking out a little. She stood up rather upbruptly, she staggered and tripped over herself. Falling forward onto her knees, her head bowed, curls falling around her face. Her fists clenched, and her knuckles into the floor. If only the world would stop spinning, she could get back up and walk back to the school. The floor just wouldn't stop though, a hand came up and clutched her head. Gawd, why was the world so tipsy turvey all of a sudden.
Ash never had really drinking that much before, lets just say, first time she has been drunk. She closed her eyes for a second, willing herself to stand up. She managed to grab hold of the table ledge and pull herself to her feet. Holding onto the table for dear life, she was so going to fall over again. Her finger tips white from the pressure of holding herself upright. "Maybe, I should sit back down" she drawled and ka-plunked back into the chair. She groaned and laid her head on her arms, which were folded on the table. Her blue skirt hiked up a little higher from the little escapaid, showing more of her thigh.
She heard a whistle from a guy a few tables away, her head rose and she glared at him. Wasn't even worth her yelling at him to mind his own fucking business. She swallowed, and looked back at Adam. Waiting for the laughter, her brown eyes narrowed rather menicangly. "Would you happen to have any water?" she asked, before slumping over the table. She passed out. How fun! Floating in a dark oblivion where pain and emotions didn't exsist. Maybe she would just stay in this comforting numb place.

Adam didn't laugh. Instead, he turned to glare at the guy. Guys like that were the ones who gave the rest of them a bad name. Well, not that Adam was any saint -- I mean, he was a Death Eater, for crying out loud! -- but in other ways, he was more of a good guy. He shook his head, muttering a spell and pointing his wand at the guy. He found his tongue glued to the roof of his mouth, and Adam grinned mischievously.
As she passed out, he raised an eyebrow. "Well. I didn't even learn her name..." He couldn't very well leave her here. He sighed, getting to his feet. He scooped her up into his arms, looking to Matt behind the bar. Matt raised his eyebrows, and Adam shrugged slightly, heading over there. They had a couch in the back room. He'd put her there and let her sleep off, check on her every so often to make sure she was okay.
He slipped behind the bar, opening the door easily enough and heading to the couch. It was very big, soft, and very comfortable. He laid her down on it, covering her up with a blanket, and conjured a glass with his wand. "Aguamenti," he muttered, filling the glass to the brim with water. He then set it down on the table, complete with ice. It wouldn't get warm, and the ice would take about 12 hours to melt. Hey, why not have the good stuff?
He went back to the kitchen, knowing she'd need something to eat, and told the chefs to make her something. After thinking for a few minutes, he decided to start with smaller things in case she needed to puke. He went to Matt for help on that, and they picked out some crackers, a little cheese spread, and some pretzels. There was also a container of peanut butter in case she wanted some of that. It was her choice. It was set on a silver platter on hte table beside the water. A large silver bucket contained a few garbage bags around the edge, so she could roll over and throw up if she needed to.
Adam dimmed the lights and set some headache pills by the table. She'd have on helluva migraine, most likely. He shut the door behind him and went back to the bar. The room itself was very high class. Adam did have excellent taste, even if he didn't always show it. The walls were a creamy color, the sofa a nice, creamy leather. The tables were polished wood, and there were glass containers holding priceless antiques and vases and such. It was a marvelous beauty. There were also a variety of plants throughout the room, and a bathroom was in the far corner. There was also a large, plasma TV mounted on the wall in front of the couch, and the remote lay on the table beside her.

Awh shit! she should have known that surreal numb place wasn't forever. A sudden heavyness fell about her limbs, and her head positively swam. A hand came up to her forehead a groan was let out. It felt like someone had just run over her head with a transport. She opened her eyes, then closed them abruptly. Hells, that hurt like a bitch. Ash, tried opening her eyes again, where was she anyway? Someone probably took her and raped her, thats probably what happend. Her head fell back onto the sofa arm, and then she moaned realizing that wasn't smart with a splitting headache.
Suddenly her stomach twisted, uhoh. Her brown eyes flew open, and she saw the garbage bag just in time. She grabbed it as her stomach upheaved her food and left over gin from earlier into the black plastic bag. One of her hands holding back her chocolate curls from her face. Her face scrunched up and she looked around her, she grabbed the glass of water and took a few swallows. Her head still severly smarting, she really shouldn't have drank so much. In fact, now she knew why her mom was never around the next day after drinking like Ash just did.
She grabbed two pills and threw them into her mouth, swallowing it with another draught of water. She sighed and leaned back, taking time to look around herself while she waited for the pills to work their magic. Creme? Her brown eyes wandered more, sweet ass Tv! A small smile on her lips, hell wherever she was, it was tight! Ash took another sip of water, the noticed the crackers and pretzels. Well, she would eat 'em if she didn't feel like upheaving again. She leaned back and just stared at the ceiling rather listlessly.
She tilted her head, and kept staring at it. What she was seeing, who knows! Maybe she was a little lost, or those pills were making her hallucinate. Neither was really the case, she was just trying not to concentrate on her smashing migrain. She ran a hand through her tresses, and lay there on the tasteful leather couch. Ash would have to remember to thank who ever had brought her here before someone did manage to kidnap her and rape her.
O.o.c// Now I want peanut butter and crackers! xDD

Adam went to check on Ashlei, and he was slightly surprised to find her awake and staring at the ceiling. He closed the door softly behind him, careful to dull the sound so it wouldn't hurt her head as bad. Afterall, sound seemed to be magnified when you had a hangover. He headed over to her, standing with his thumbs hooked in the pockets of his pants.
"Feel any better?" he asked softly, spotting the puke. He pointed his wand at it, and it vanished instantly. He noted the pill bottle in a different place, and the water was emptier. Ah, so she had already taken the medicine. Smart girl. It just might start to get a little bit better in a while... He was wearing a pair of sunglasses and a hat now, but it looked pretty good on him.
The hat was blue-striped with a lighter blue design on the left side. The sunglasses were black, simple, but of a pretty excellent quality. He pulled the shades down the bridge of his nose, peering over them at her. His stunningly blue eyes stared down at her for a minute, taking in her appearance. She didn't look all that well. He hoped she'd feel better. Hey, he really couldn't afford to have his name or his club's reputation tarnished, now could he? He smiled slightly, sitting down in a chair a little to the right of the couch, though still angled more towards the TV. He waited for her answer, his shades making their way off his face and hanging from the neck of his shirt.

"At least my head is not actually tearing apart like it seems to feel, without that I suppose I am doing alright" she spoke. Her voice much lighter and softer then when she was drinking. She almost sounded, more intelligent with her speech and words. Her brown eyes were fixated on the ceiling and hadn't dropped their gaze quite yet. Trying to remember what happened to cause her to pass out. She knew she had been drinking, but that much? In fact, she didn't even remember talking to anyone.
She ran a slender hand through her chocolate curls, and finally looked over at Adam. She had to struggle from giggling when seeing his hat. For surely if she did giggle, her head was severly repent it. What did she find so funny? The fact that every guy she had met so far since getting back to school, was wearing a unique hat. First the trilby, now this one. She reached over and took a sip of the glass of water. The ice tinked against the cool glass, as she set it back down.
Then she realized, that this guy didn't know her name. It was nice of him to rescue her from the bar when not even knowing her. She smiled in thanks and parted her lips to speak, "Thank you for helping me, I'm Ashlei Soudai" Her arm rose up onto the back of the couch, and then bent so that her head was tilted and resting in the palm of her hand. While her elbow was on the couch's backing. Curtain of brown curls falling over one shoulder, the tips brushing against her upperarm.
Now she was rather staring at the wall behind him. The soft creme colour not as hard on the eyes, nor migrain, as staring at one object.

He smiled and said,"It was no problem. I couldn't leave you out there. You might end up being raped or something..." He shook his head. "Drunks are unpredictable..." He took a mental photograph of her, also mentally scribbling her name beneath. He wouldn't forget any time soon. Afterall, he was pretty good with this stuff. Ashlei Soudai.
He smiled and said,"I'm Adam MacKeltar, the owner of Shaded Nights." He tipped his hat to her, with a slight grin on his face. It didn't work too well with this hat, but he liked it. He had noticed her giggling, but it didn't bother him, really. He wasn't sure why she was giggling, but hey, he didn't care. "Do you go to the school? Beauxbatons?"

Of course, she knew his name. He was a little infamous about owning this bar around school. She nodded with a smile, her headache starting to numb down to just an annoying buzz. When he asked her about school, she nodded slowly so not to have her head kill her over it. "Yeah, seventh year, you?" she said. Her head still resting on the palm of her hand. She rather liked his hat, why did everyone have cool hats but her? Wow, being hungover really made a difference in your thoughts. They were completely random!
She shifted slightly and sat up, feeling a little concious now of her feet being on his couch. A very nice leather couch too. She swung her legs over and her feet touched the floor. Then she leaned back into the cushions, her arms neatly folded in front of her.

He smiled and said,"Seventh year. Lioano." He pulled out his wand, flicking it at a cooler in the corner. It opened, and a Corona floated toward him. He grabbed it, grabbing the piece of lime as it appeared beside him in the air, and prodding it into the bottle. He sipped slowly from it as he looked up at her again. "So, Ashlei, am I right to say this was your first time being drunk?"

Damn, that obivious eh?, she tilted her head slightly, chocolate curls rustling. "Yeah, I'm am not really the drinking type normally" She admited, a light flush coming over her cheeks. Not that she was embarressed that she didn't drink often, but she was starting to wonder what exactly she did last night to pass out. Even, how did she act while being drunk? Chocolate eyes blinked slowly, long black lashes resting on her high cheekbones for a second. Before the pretty doe eyes opened again, to study Adam for a minute.
The pills had already dulled down her headache to just a little buzz near the bridge of her nose. One of those annoying headaches that you get after reading too long. Ashlei looked around herself, eyebrows together as she frowned. Where was she anyway? "Uhm, where am I?" She asked Adam. Turning back around, one of her eyebrows now delicately arched. Her slender hands now folded in her lap, her one index finger carressing the fabric that pressed against her thigh. Her long legs were neatly crossed, since she had taken her feet off the leather couch a few moments ago.
