Elizabeth tapped her wand on the board, and names appeared on it along with words explaining what they were for. She was ready for her first lesson. Everything was set up nicely, including there being notebooks and text books for every person. She turned from the board, waving her wand at the door. It unlocked. She then went to her desk, pouring herself a cup of coffee. She added cream and sugar to it, sipping on it quietly as she looked over her papers. She figured it would take them a while to drag themselves to class...

"C'mon, do hurry! We're probably late already..."
"So?"
"So I'm not getting detention, and I'll be damned if you do too!"
"I'm only coming 'cause I'm skint...don't have any money to go into Paris..."
"You're not flunking you're last year here...Skint?" sniffed Serphius, raising an eyebrow at his slouching friend, "But you're always loaded! Doesn't your family send you some very second week? Surely you haven't spent it already?"
"...I'm saving for something..." Alexys replied guardedly.
Serphius shrugged as he gently shouldered the door, and held it open for Lexi. To both of there intense surprise, the room was empty, save for the teacher. The delicious warm aroma aroused their interest, and teased their noses.
"Coffee through an IV, please..." one of them muttered as they shuffled over to the board. It was still early by their terms. Eyes - one pair rich inky black, heavy lidded and inquisitive, the other pair light brown, bright and smiling - scanned the writing on the board, dancing down the long list of groups. On the whole, they were both rather pleased with the grouping, although Serphius decided that he was going to have an unfortunate bout of unforeseen lurgy on the summer trip. The summer flu perhaps, or heat stroke. He was, however, rather disappointed. If it wasn't for him, it would have been a damn fine way to pass the day, he was sure.
Alexys turned away first, falling-apart black shoes scuffing the floor lazily as he thrust his hands deep into the pockets of his too-tight-but-too-long black trousers (yes, they were s'posed to be white or pale blue but he decided a long time ago that pale colours were just not him). The sleeves of his battered old blue velvet jacket (close enough to the blazer, right?), and that of the white shirt were pushed up to his elbows, which looked a little odd with the gloves. He wore no cloak, and his tie was tied round his waist like a belt, just to be different. Today, his hair was shorter that normal, but still a little long, and just randomly spiked and swirled at the back, with a straight-ish fringe.
Serphius, on the other hand, was dressed almost perfectly, if it wasn't for the white studded belt, the polka dot trilby sitting at a rather jaunty angle, or the fact that he'd cut the fingers off his gloves. Apart from that, he looked like a model student. His hair was black and messy as ever, skin too pale, body too skinny. Alexys was constantly reminding him him he looked like he was just about to fade away. But then again, Alexys was always telling him things.
The two boys, without so much as a howdy-do to the teacher slunk to the back on the classroom, and gather a couple of chairs round two desks pushed together, in case any of their new friends wished to sit with them. Both boys were rather pleased with making quite so many bright and interesting acquaintances in such a short amount of time. It was a wonder that they hadn't somehow found each other before.

Gaara rather pounced through the door, his face rather full of smiles, and his pretty almond shaped eyes sparkly. It could be said, that Gaara was in love with the fact that he got gloves with his uniform...yes the gloves. He had taken a pair of scissors to his jacket however, cutting it so that it was short and about three quarters up his upper body. The back of the jacket was longer, and the appropriate length. The sleeves were left down, and were a little too long, ending near the tips of his slender fingers. The pretty asian boy's pants seemed to be too big, for the pant legs scuffed the floor and nearly covered his shoes, while he had to keep pulling them up by the belt loops because they kept falling down to show his noire boxers. Gaara, on a splurge of creativeness (Yes, if he wasn't creative already) had tied his tie around his neck, but it was wrapped around more like a collar then a tie, for it did not fall down the front of him. Light blue shirt, under the shortened jacket, was tight and when he moved to look at the feild trip lists, the outlines of the muscle on his stomach could be seen.
His slender nose twitched, then he turned around, his hair was a different color this morning. It seemed that by accident, he had dyed it peroxide blond, don't even ask how it happened. By now he was used to it, and the change in color made his skin tone appear darker then it used to look. In fact, now he looked like a proper blond haired Beauxbatons boy, except for the fact that he had tappered with his uniform. Gaara had bought a pair of brand new all white converse shoes, don't even ask how he got them...he just somehow did. This morning, the eyeliner that wound its way around his hazel eyes was a pale shimmery blue, matching the colors of his uniform. When he finished looking, and turned toward the class, his eyes automatically sought out his new friends. The short boy skipped toward them, looking all the more Fina-Sholita-Boy then ever, and managed to swoop onto their desk and lay on his back, arms crossed behind his blond head.
"Ello ello boysies...The groupings are quite admirable...even if I didn't get put in one with Mr.Goldfish...I am in a group with Mista Charming Alexys" he said, looking up at the ceiling of the classroom rather then them, besides that he knew they would be taken aback by him sprawling across their desk, his legs dangling over the edge. Then he sat up, and tugged at his uniform slightly, "Nifty thing this uniform? Much prettier then the Durmstrang one I wore before" He nodded to himself, then hopped off their desk, seating himself in a chair beside Serphius. After all, in potions he had sat beside Lexi. You could say that Gaara was full of pep and energy today, more so then normal. Maybe it was the cake he had eaten at breakfast...nah!

"Belle... Belle, come on! Your stupid hat looks fine, already!" Roxie said impatiently, tugging on her friend Mirabelle's sleeve. She let go quickly, though, when Belle shot her an unexpected glare, straightening out the crease made in her blue dress' sleeve. They had been stopping every single time there was a mirror in a hallway, and Mirabelle had been constantly checking. This had began to get on Roxie's nerves, and even the older Fina, Christina, was getting annoyed.
"Look, you've made my dress go all funny now..." Belle grumbled, brushing the blue material for about the thousandth time. Her dark blue, elbow-length gloves were pulled right up, and she seemed to be trying not to move her arms at all. Her uniform, as usual, was immaculate, hat on, black shoes shining, cloak draped around her shoulders.
"It looks fine, babe," Tina said with a smile, jumping in front of the other two girls and giving them a twirl. "What do you think of my uniform?" It was similar to Mirabelle's, just a little messier and creased. Tina had charmed - seriously - the hat and the fur on her cloak to sparkle and glisten pink, and her shoes were leather, knee-high boots with heels. Her gloves were nowhere to be seen, probably in the black handbag that she was swinging by her side. Her hat was on sideways, covering one eye, and her blond hair was down, falling over her shoulders and shining.
"Wonderful!!" Came the instant, cheerful reply from Roxie.
"...Sure, yes, different. Creative." Came the delayed, distracted, half-hearted reply from Belle.
"Now come on!" nagged Roxie, twirling about in her blue dress. Her hat was in her hand, and her own gloves were also nowhere to be seen. She skipped down to the classroom, pulling the other two behind her. Knocking on the door, Roxie and the girls slipped inside, smiling pleasantly. There were a few people in here already, but not many. At least they weren't that late.
Then they saw the board. "I'm with you!!" Christina exclaimed, and she and Mirabelle started hugging madly, both seeming to forget about their uniforms. Roxie glanced over the board quickly. No Belle. No Tina. "I'm all alone," she said, head down slightly.
"Lighten up, Roxie!" Mirabelle said kindly, patting her shoulder gently. "You're with Jon, in one. And you're in with this guy called Caliban in another. We've met a couple of times, and he's nice. I'm sure he'd help you on a field trip if you're stuck, or lost." She nodded thoughtfully, then changed the subject. "Shall we sit down?" As the other girls nodded, she led them to a table for two that was bang in the middle of the room. Roxie and Belle sat side by side, and Tina grabbed a chair to sit on the right end next to Roxie.

The boys hadn't been taken aback by the sudden apparition of a small cute young man sprawled across their desks. In fact, they and seen him coming, and with small smiles, delicately removed anything remotely crushable from the tabletops and placed them temporarily in their laps.
"Good day, Gaara, and what a fine day it is too! The sun's shining almost as brightly as your hair! What on earth happened to you?" Alexys was, of course, teasing as usual.
"I-I think it's q-quite fetching," mumbled Serphius with a wobbly smile as Gaara sat down beside him, "B-Brings out the gold in y-your eyes."
"Of course, of course," Lexi agreed vaguely, sitting with his head in his hands, and his elbows jammed on the table. He was smiling, however, "So, is there any sign of your - our - darling friends yet?"

Post by Cove Bentley on Oct 10, 2006 18:24:32 GMT -5
Cove made his way to their first lesson, accompanied by Matthew Jerrolds and Aimee Reynolds. He had ran into them on the way, and they'd had a pleasant chat all the way there. He was dressed in pale blue trousers that were rather baggy on him and a rather tight white shirt with the top few buttons unbuttoned. He wore the jacket, of course, but left it unbuttoned. His tie was hanging loosely around his neck, and the pale blue gloves were on his hands. He also wore the required black shoes, but he had chosen to leave the cloak behind.
His hair was as it usually was, his eyeliner still black. He looked at Matt and said with a sly smile,"So, Mattie, you seemed to be pretty close to Emerald the other day, hmm?" Matt just looked at him and rolled his eyes, Aimee looking over in interest. Aimee was dressed perfectly according to the dress code. She wore the dress, gloves, shoes, cloak, and the required hat. She also carried a pale blue bag with everything she needed, and her hair fell in waves down her back. She wore large silver hoops to go with everything.
Matt was dressed in the blue trousers and the white shirt, the top few buttons unbuttoned like Cove's. He wore the blazer completely unbuttoned, and the tie was simply draped around his neck. In place of the black shoes, he wore black Converses, his shoe of choice. His gloves were nowhere to be found, probably stuffed in his pocket or something. His cloak, too, was nowhere to be found, though it was probably in his messy room. His hair was rather normal, just doing whatever it wanted, and he was constantly rubbing his eyes. He was very tired...
Matt looked at Cove and said,"Shut up, Cove." Aimee raised an eyebrow and asked,"Who's Emerald?" Cove grinned and said,"She's just a girl our buddy Mattie was getting pretty close to the other day. It was so obvious, the two of you flirting like mad." Matt tried to butt in, but with no success, and resorted to shooting a glare at the other guy, only to receive a mischievous grin back. Aimee shook her head and asked,"What about Felicia?" Matt looked at her and shrugged. "She doesn't want a relationship, and I'm not much of a relationship guy... I'm fair game, really..." He hadn't completely given up on her yet, though...
Cove entered the room first, bouncing in and looking around. He quickly spotted Serphius, Lexi, and Gaara, and he bid the others farewell and departed. He walked over to his friends, grabbing one of the chairs and flipping it around, sitting on it and placing his arms on the chair back, resting his chin on it and grinning at them all. "Did ya miss me?" he asked with a grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief and fun.
Matt made his way to a back corner, farthest away from the teacher, and sat down, looking at the names on the board. He got out a notebook, scribbling them down. He didn't feel like bothering with a spell, and this way it would waste more time so he could get out of here quicker, hopefully. Aimee sat in the middle of the room, towards the back, making sure there was a seat for Alex nearby as well. She then pulled a notebook out of her bag and grabbed her pen, writing the names. It was more fun that way...
((Working on bringing the others in a bit later...))

"... Am I late?" Alex stated rather boredly, strolling into the classroom.
He didn't seem in the best mood, and his image hadn't got any better from it. The white shirt, unbuttoned a little at the top and bottom, as well as un-tucked, looked suspiciously crumpled, as if he'd hurriedly grabbed it off the floor that morning, and the tie had conveniently been 'lost' during the holidays- it was shoved in the bottom drawer of his desk, amid pieces of unfinished homework.
The blazer (stupid bloody thing that it was) was slung over his shoulder, one hand raised lazily to keep it in place. His trousers, also, were a little creased, and his black school shoes were scuffed and duller than they were when just bought. He looked the complete opposite of his tidy, happy girlfriend.
Alex saw Aimee instantly, and the smallest of smiles appeared on his grumpy, previously frowning face. He made his way over to her, dropping a dirty black back pack on the floor underneath the desk, and sat next to her. Leaning over, he gave her a small kiss, then leaned back in his chair. He flicked the book open to the first page and flicked his wand at it, the lists from the board appearing gradually. It was a little slow, but who cared, so long as he didn't have to write them.
{They ARE still together, right? xD I'm a little tired tonight...}

"So when we get in there, I'll just tell the teacher we didn't have time to buy all the uniform," Emerald began. "I mean, we, like, didn't, did we? We only got here just, and Adeline told us that the uniform had all sold out anyway, so we wouldn't have time to buy it. I'm sure Miss James - the teacher in this class - won't mind." She paused. "But maybe she'll tell us off anyway, in front of everyone, just to show there's no favoritism 'cause we're Ad's sisters?"
"Mm, maybe," Lareina said distractedly, biting her nail.
"No, I mean, seriously. What if she yells? In front of everyone, Lar? Everyone?" Emerald shook her head worriedly. "You know I hate being yelled at. 'Member at that school we just left, when that teacher had the biggest go at me just 'cause I didn't do that homework? Remember? I even told her that I was ill, which I was, but she just yelled louder, and I burst into tears after screaming back at her and ran out."
"Mm," Lareina said, nodding vaguely. "And don' call me Lar."
They had reached the classroom door now, and, swallowing nervously, Emerald looked over both their clothes. She herself was dressed reasonably appropriately, in a basic pair of black jeans with a bright green belt. She had a plain black top on her top half, which had a matching bright green heart bang in the middle. Her hair, which was also streaked with green today, was pulled back into a ponytail with a black bobble, eyes outlined with black, and the shoes on her feet were plain black trainers, a green stripe on each. Black and green seemed to be her colors of choice, today.
Lareina was completely different. She had on a short denim skirt, which was so tight that Emerald was surprised it didn't split down the back. The Lioano was wearing a strapless, also tight red top, which was sparkling to the point of tacky. She had a jacket the same color of denim as her skirt. Her hair was completely straight today, flicked over her shoulder where it hung down her back, shining and black, and her shoes where an unbearably high pair of black wedges with a red bow on each.
"You look a little-" Emerald started, interrupted by Lareina who said, annoyed, "Yeah, I know. I get it. Go on, then. Get in there and spout your excuses to the teacher, Charlotte." Emerald couldn't help but shoot her a glare, but entered the room anyway. She smiled pleasantly at the teacher, and said, "Sorry we're late, and sorry about the lack of uniform. The Headmistress said she will get some in as soon as she can."
Rolling her eyes, Lareina silently went to a place in one corner, flopping into a chair and placing her legs up on the chair next to her, sitting sideways. She didn't seem to care much that she was wearing a skirt.
Smiling weakly and giving the teacher time to answer, Emerald shoved her hands in her pockets and surveyed the people currently in the room, trying to decide where to seat herself. There was the three girls she had sat near in the Potions lesson, although their male friend was nowhere to be seen. There were Lexi, Sephy and Gaara sitting in the back chatting cheerfully, Gaara's hair a new, startling shade of blond. And there was Matt, also in the back.
Ah, Matt. Should she sit by him? She wanted to. They had had fun by the waterfall the other day. But she had heard the rumors, the jealous, nasty rumors spread by stupid girls that he had a girlfriend. Did he? She wouldn't know. She had only just arrived at school. Should she sit with Lexi and the others and leave him until this 'girlfriend' (whoever she was) arrived to sit by him? She probably wouldn't appreciate some other girl sitting by him.
Still unable to decide, Emerald stayed where she was, near the professor's desk. One of the several people she wanted to sit near would surely call her over, right? Yes, and that would be the decision. Whoever asked first would be the simplest way to go.

Matt looked up, seeing Charlotte enter the class. He smiled and waved at her, saying,"Come on, babe!" He grinned, suddenly seeming a little more interested to be here. He received a look from Cove, but Matt merely rolled his eyes at his new friend, looking back at Charlotte. He pointed to the seat beside him, indicating that she could sit there. Felicia was nowhere to be found so far, and yes, he'd heard the rumors. They were not dating, just a sort of 'no strings attached' type of thing. Well, if she was still even interested...
Cal had managed to drag himself out of bed after coming in late. He'd been in the library, reading, and had lost all track of time the night before. The librarian had finally come and told him it was time to leave, and that was around 2 in the morning. He had managed to get back to the common room, where he was besieged by Adam and forced to stay down there during one of the parties they had. He had finally been allowed to fall onto his bed around 6, and he had been roughly awoken a few hours later for class.
He was dressed precisely according to the dress code, as was expected. The tie, however, was rather loose, and the top couple of buttons were left unbuttoned. He wasn't feeling up to being the 'role model' student. Besides, this was far more comfortable. He looked at Adam, who was looking even rougher than he was. His companion had neglected to follow the dress code to the last article. Instead, he was dressed in pale blue trousers, which were rather wrinkled, and a white shirt. His blazer was slung over his shoulder, being held by a finger of his left hand. His gloves were nowhere to be found, as was the cloak, and his tie was currently somewhere in his room. His shoes were not the required black shoes, but rather a pair of black converses, which was his usual choice.
Their other companion was looking rather grumpy. Anastasia MacKeltar was not happy with this uniform at all. It was so... cheerful compared to Durmstrang's. She had grumbled all the way, but somehow, she had managed to have been forced into it since she was a prefect, though her darling cousin had chosen not to follow it, though he was a prefect. She was dressed in a blue dress, crisp and neat, and black shoes, polished and shined. There was a cloak draped around her shoulders, and dark blue gloves adorned her hands. The hat was placed neatly on her head, made sure to stay in place so her hair wouldn't mess up.
They entered the room, Caliban at the front, and he scouted for seats. Caliban spotted Belle, and he headed in her direction, grabbing the desk beside hers and seating himself in the seat beside her. Adam grabbed the one next to him, and Ana sat in the front corner of the room, away from the other two. Today, it seemed, she preferred to remain alone.
((I was adding in more characters. ^^;; Oh, and THIS TAKES PLACE BEFORE THE DEATH EATER ATTACK. *coughs* Thank you.))

Emerald, who was staring in a bored fashion at her feet, looked up at the familiar voice. When he waved her over, she jumped a little, letting out a strange, happy little kind of squeak, and skipped to the seat, dropping into it comfortably. She had noticed, only out of the very corner of her eye, the look Matt received from Cove, and briefly wondered what the hell that was all about, before she was sitting all of a sudden.
"Hi! Pleased to see me?" she asked, grinning and pulling open the notebook on the desk in front of her. She added playfully, "And don't call me 'babe', you naughty little boy, we're not there yet..." She gave him a soft push to the shoulder, rolling her eyes and flicking her wand at the book. When the names from the board were transfered, she leaned back in her chair, pulling one black leg up slightly and crossing it over the other so that both rested comfortably on the floor.
{You called her 'Charlotte'. *giggles* And I only just noticed. And I wasn't sure if the note in your post, Aimee, meant that that post wasn't finished and that you were going to add more to it later, or that you were going to be adding in more chars to the thread. *shrugs*}

"Oh of course...everyone jumps on my hair. Remind me not to try new spells when it comes to dying my hair...it was supposed to be blond streaks not blond hair through and through. Oh and thank you Serphius...at least someone appreaciates it!" Gaara said, his smile still on brightly, even if he was a little miffed about the fact that he had made such a stupid mistake with his hair. He wiggled his fingers in the gloves, then tried to grab his quill, which evidently kept falling out of his grasp everytime. Curse these gloves...they were my favourite... he tried again one last time, only to find the quill fall to the floor at his feet. He pouted slightly, then bent over to try and grab it off the floor, only succeeding in pushing it around. It didn't really dawn on him to remove his gloves, and so he kept up the struggle for a few minutes.
Finally after what seemed like forever, he ripped the gloves off plopped them on the table and grabbed the quill with his long slender fingers. "Oh dear god...finally the lightbulb has turned on this morning." he muttered. Face lit up again as Cove sat down beside them, and Gaara had a ready answer on his smooth lips. "Naturally...I miss all my friends when they leave me for so long." Even if technically it had only been a day and a night...Gaara, as it was proved by his hair, was a little destructive when left alone. In fact he had taken apart his birds cage and accidently melted the peices together to make a replica of a pile of sludge. Errabise was happy, since the falcon hated the dumb encagement part of school. However, Gaara was slightly dismayed later to find that he had melted a very expensive cage. Gaara tended to forget about silly things like that, and remark quite dissapointedly at himself later about it.

"Silly boy, you should have just came and found us! We would have helped you, if you had wanted us to. And everyone missed you, of course." Alexys said with a grin, twirling his own small tatty black quill in his be-gloved fingers. Serphius, who was nodding quite happily in agreement with anything that was being said, just smiled.
"And don't ask me how, ladies, but that reminds me - Serphius and I are 'taking the afternoon off' and going out to lunch later, and we'll probably going dancing afterwards. We know all the best clubs and cafes and stuff in Paris. Please, grace us with your presence! T'would be fun!"

Cove grinned at Gaara and said,"That's good to know!" He cocked his head a little to the side to look at Lexi and Serphius, delicately arching an eyebrow at Lexi's proposal. "And, kind sir, would that invitation include moi?" He pointed at himself as he said this, smiling all the while. He was still in a good mood, as usual, and his mood had only been improved at the sight of his friends. He wondered where Elliott was, but he figured his new friend would show up eventually. Well, he hoped he would. It just wouldn't be as fun without him.
Jon groaned as he headed to class, walking with Faith to their first Defense Against the Dark Arts class. In truth, he wasn't in such a bad mood, but the uniform was driving him absolutely crazy! He had adhered to the dress code completely, minus the cloak, however. He didn't much like jackets, unless they were muggle clothing. Those were much more comfortable. He fidgeted with his blazer, flexing his fingers through his gloves often. He also kept adjusting his tie, and Faith was smiling, shaking her head all the while.
Faith was wearing everything the dress code entailed. Her blue dress was smooth and uncreased, no wrinkles in sight, and her dark blue gloves were in place and fit just right. She didn't fidget with anything, though. She wore the shoes, shined and cleaned, and the hat and cloak. The hat was tipped slightly to the side, but it fit her. The two opened the door and slipped inside, glancing around. Jon immediately went to the desk beside Roxie and sat down, and Faith, grinning, made her way to the front of the room in the middle, grabbing a seat at a desk alone. She hoped either Scarlet or Kai would get here soon...
