They were very, very late, and very, very drunk. The two friends had spent the whole evening at a club in Paris, disregarding whatever rules there were against it, including the curfew, as it was easily past one o'clock in the morning. So, with much muffled giggles, and confused staggering around, Alexys and Serphius pushed two sun beds together, and flopped down on them. For Paris, and the club, they had both dressed up quite wonderfully. Sephy was wearing a black fine mesh top, and delightfully tight black trousers, much like Lexi's leather pair he was wearing, and his usual trilby. His partner in crime for the evening, along with those fine leather pants, was bedecked in a red satin shirt, and a black velvet jacker, and a scarlet ribbon in his curly black hair. Both boys, quite unashamedly, were wearing just a tad of red lipstick. Lexi's was curiously smudged, which pretty much summed up the whole night.
"Mm, mm, mm, Sephy - we're in soooo-oo-ooo much trouble when we gets back to school!" giggled Lexi as they reclined in the sun beds, eyes turned to the star speckled heavens. The night was a clear and crisp one - the early morning air was frosty, and quite sharp.
"I-I know," mumbled Serphius sleepily, "I fink that's the fird time you've told me since we left the...the....place...."
Alexys giggled quietly, trying to smother the sound with his hand, which only made him laugh harder.
"Shhh-shh-hh!" he snorted, "We're gonna get caught!"
"Ah didn't say anyfing," Serphius replied, looking over at his chuckling friend, "'S you that's gawfuffing away like a - like a gawfufferer..."
After that, they sank into a deep, and easy silence. They said nothing for quite a while, and it was cold enough to see their own breath, which seemed to fascinate them both.
"It's cold. Are you cold Serphius?" said Lexi quite suddenly. It mildly startled Serphius how sober he sounded.
"Yesh, it is. Are you cold Alexys?"
"Oh, I'm always cold."
Again, there was another silence, though this one was short and uneasy. Serphius wriggled closer to his friend, and draped an arm over his chest.
"D' - D' you remember that time I stayed over at yours for Christmas?" he asked
"Yeah....My mother nearly had a heart attack when I brought you back....That was the best Crimbo ever...."
"Member when we drunk in the park?"
"Haha, yeah...remeber I made you dye your hair blonde, and we sung karaoke together?"
"That was embarassing...Oh, oh, remember when we were jumping on the bed, and you fell out the - the window? I laughed so hard, until I saw the blood...so much blood! I fink I passed out after that...."
"Oooh, yeah....Y'know what....you should move in with me!"
"What! Oh! Haha, ver' funny..."
"Naw, naw," Lexi said, waving his arms, "'M serious. Ah got my own place now. Live with me - you'd love it! Everyday would be like the holidays...It would be great...We'd get up to all sorts...You'd love it, I swear...I swear, it'd jus' you 'nd me...you'd love it...Sephy?"
But, alas, the boy in his arms, pretty and pale as a wax manikin, was fast asleep, his thick dark lashes long enough to brush his cheeks. Lexi laughed softly. He never could hand his drink....He held him close to keep him warm, not caring if it looked rather like they were up to something, and sighed, sending a little wispy cloud of breath into the cold morning air.
