Elizabeth smiled and said,"Ah, yes, work. That annoying little voice nagging you in the back of your head, reminding you of your duties..." She just grinned and said,"But I, too, came here for the job..." She sipped from her wine before continuing. "Well, I haven't done as much as the first day, but I've been a little busy. Work, of course, and putting faces with names. I've been meeting some of the students in my house, and I've played piano. I read during lunch, and that was basically it... And that's what mine said as well, so I had no idea until I got here." She smiled.
Darien grinned and said,"No, now is just fine..." He laughed slightly and said,"Yes, he certainly is. He was always good with the ladies, though he has his own views on some things. We differ on a few things, but otherwise, we are pretty similar in our morals and such..." He shrugged, following her to the drink table as he said,"Of course." He picked out a bottle of Corona with lime. He wasn't in the mood for wine just yet. Maybe later, but right now, this beer actually looked pretty damn good.
Alec smiled, shaking her hand. He released as she did, saying,"The pleasure is all mine, Ameera..." He sipped from his glass, looking around. "Yes. It does appear that way..." He grinned slightly and said,"All in all, it's rather amusing..." He took a larger drink from his glass. He loved the taste, but he also wanted to be more relaxed. Though no one else would notice it, he was very tense and stressed out right now. They had recently lost a few men in his department, and he was being put on edge by darker acts nearing them... The Death Eaters' hand was reaching farther across Europe, and their ranks were swelling incessantly. His eyes scanned the room and he smiled, looking back to her as he said,"Yes, it certainly is..."

Carmen smiled at everyone chatting away. She sighed. Why was she the only one feeling awkward and kinda weirded out. Everyone would probably be drunk at the end of the night. Typical really. Nice little get together's turning into freaky drunken parties. Oh yes, she'd seen it all the time since she loved to party. Going to parties nearly every night...well...that was stopped once she had started teaching. She had to have a clean record and a sober mind for her teaching days. She couldn't possible be hung-over when she taught! She'd be grumpy all the time!
Tonight, Carmen didn't feel like drinking. She went over to the drink table and took a wine-glass but instead, when no one was looking she flicked her wand and the glass filled with apple juice. It look almost identical to white wine. She could pull it off. She went back to the little circle of people. She tipped the glass to her lips when suddenly she heard a loud crash from outside. Probably some kids playing a joke on somone. She gasped out of shock and she accidently spilt the apple juice all over the floor and some down her chest. "Bloody thing!" she shouted. She grabed some napkins off the table and started wipping away at her chest, throwing some to the floor on the juice.

"I met a few students myself, and sent a couple of them down to the store room to get some stuff for me. You should have seen their faces..." Braeden replied, before frowning suddenly and saying, "Come to think of it, I never did get those lizard scales... Never mind. I can get a small jar of 'em cheap in the town for two sickles and three knuts anyway." He shrugged. "And, good. It would have been humiliating if I was the only one here who didn't know..." He had a gulp of his beer, watching as she did the same with her wine.
"Now is fine?" Adeline asked, her light eyebrows raised. "Then I better get around to finding that bottle of champagne, then. I need a refill." She finished off her glass with a couple of long gulps, grinning. Listening to him speak about his brother, she said with a smirk, "You're good with the ladies too, though, you know..." She pressed her lips against his gently, still grinning, glass placed down softly on the table.
Adeline also heard the crash, though, and jumped slightly, pulling away and going to the window. "Kids..." She murmured. They were out after curfew, messing around. Normally, she would have rushed outside and hustled them all back in. Tonight, though, she was going to pretend she hadn't noticed, or heard. That way, everyone was happy, right?

Elizabeth smiled and said,"Yes. They're quite an interesting bunch, don't you think?" She, too, heard the crash, but she didn't jump. In fact, she completely ignored it, just standing there and continuing her conversation with Braeden. It was students, and the other teachers could handle it if they really needed to. "Yes, that would have been rather embarassing. I'm not sure I could have lived it down for a long while..." She took a small sip of her wine, seeing as it was almost empty, and cocked her head gently to the side. She looked at his beer thoughtfully. She hadn't had the stuff in years. "What's that taste like?" she asked, gesturing at the beer bottle.
Darien laughed and said,"Yes, you had better. And maybe, but he's always better with them than I am. Besides, he can have many, I'll stick with one." He smiled and said softly,"Not that he has many, but he could if he wanted to. He just... never wanted to. He always said he had too much to do, and he didn't want them to be disappointed. He was moving around, and he just didn't see most of them that way. A few drinks, a dance, a kiss goodnight, and that was it..." He shrugged, looking out at the kids without moving. He walked over to Adeline as she hesitated, placing his empty hand on her waist. "Ah. It seems we're not the only ones up late and partying..."

"I suppose... I didn't talk to them much. But, I'm 'glad' to say, I've held up the role of awful, evil Potions teacher... Lucky me..." Braeden raised his eyebrows. "It wouldn't have been so bad if you didn't know if it was a surprise party, or something, but I doubted it would be one of those, since my birthday is in November." He had a gulp of his beer. "This? It's nice... Er... God, I don't know, it tastes like beer! Get a bottle, there's loads."
Adeline stepped forward, pulling the curtains closed. "Kids? What kids? We haven't seen them, have we, Darien?" She grinned, and winked, before walking back over to the drinks table and continuing with the previous conversation. "Maybe the fact that you stick with one makes you better..." she suggested. "It does to me, anyway. You're charming in a sweet way. You're lovely." She cooed the last bit with another grin.
Another jab to his masculinity, but oh well. They were compliments, really.
Adeline looked down the table, and saw the bottle of champagne at the very end. She trotted down to it, picked it up, and filled up her glass to the very top. She took a sip, and her eyes narrowed happily as she murmured, "Mmm..."

"Kids..." Her grey eyes flickered over to the windows, then she shrugged her shoulders. Ah well, she had been like that too. Ameera was at a party right now, and those kids and what they were doing, were last on her list of things to do. She ran a hand through her short hair, then giggled. "I'm not used to having such short hair, it feels odd" She said softly, her fingers gently tugged at her blonde and brown hair.
She drained the last sip of her white wine, and frowned. Time to get another glass! She looked over to the table...meh too lazy. She pulled out her wand and tapped her glass, filling it with white wine. Thats better... she took a sip of it, savouring the taste on her tongue. "So Alec, what do you do outside of teaching?" Ameera said, her grey eyes now staring at him. She was not going to completely ignore a guy that had started talking to her, a cute one at that. Not that she was going to try anything either. However, she wasn't going to play the cold hard bitch.

She smiled and said,"Yes... Because you're such a bad guy." She winked at him, draining her glass. She raised an eyebrow. "November? Well. We'll have to have a little party or something to celebrate..." She smiled and cocked her head to the side slightly, looking thoughtful, before she snagged a bottle of the beer and rejoined Braeden. She opened it and took a small gulp, swallowing and saying,"Aaah. Excellent. That's much better..." She smiled, sipping from it as she said,"So, Braeden, do you drink often?"
He laughed and said,"Yes. 'What kids' indeed." He made a face before grinning. "Lovely? Well, that's a new one..." He grinned at her, kissing her deeply, though not lingering. There was no need to have a make-out session in front of all of their fellow professors, now was there? He pulled away, smiling, and said,"Well, dearest, you are certainly the more lovely of the two of us..."
He smiled and said,"It looks very good on you, Ameera..." He had ignored the kids, having been reassured it was nothing more by the other professors. He looked at Ameera, seeing she had refilled her glass, and said,"Outside of teaching? Well, I am actually an Auror. So, in short, I work for the Ministry. Though it's a much more relaxed position than most of the others..." He shrugged and asked,"What about you?"

"Oh, I am..." He nodded persuasively, taking a gulp of beer and thinking, Funny, that, with the whole Death Eater thing. You'd think she was a Seer if you didn't know better. "A party? That sounds... fun. Oh dear, you ruined the surprise, but at least I'll have something to look forward to for a couple months or so." Brae watched her leave, eyebrows raised, and come back with a bottle of beer clutched in her hand. "Ahh, a woman who likes something different. What a... pleasing surprise. You gotta like change..."
"A new one?" Adeline asked. "Well, all I've gotta say is... get used to it. I'll make up plenty of names for you." She kissed him back with just as much force. "Hopefully, they'll all be good, though..." She planted a couple more kisses on his lips, before pulling away once again and whispering, "Well. I think that you're just as lovely... but in a different way." She grinned.

Ahh, an Auror....me? she almost choked on her wine. Of course, as a question expect the same fired back at you. She seemed unsettled for a moment, her almond shaped grey eyes widening. Her long slender fingers grasping onto the thin wineglass. "Uhm, well...I have a sort of underground operation of sorts...Nothing illegal of course" I hope. She can't just say she organizes a female bike gang now can she? Hence the leather she showed up in. She is known as the Red Butterfly, in the gang no one really knows anyone elses outside life. They have names, and masks that they wear.
She took a heisitant sip of her wine. Ameera had always had trouble lieing, even half truths bugged the crap out of her. She used to be worse as a kid, she used to have mental breakdowns from just lying about her homework being done. Her fingers tugged at her short hair absent mindedly.

She laughed and said,"You most certainly are, Mister Williams. You simply scare me to death..." She was smiling, rather teasingly. She couldn't remember when the last time was she had been this... carefree. When she had flirted and teased like she was now. "Oh yes, you'll certainly have something to look forward to... You didn't think we would let you get away that easily, did you?"
She sipped from her beer, catching the raised eyebrow and the comment. She laughed and said,"You would be surprised at some of the things I like, Braeden... I'm not as proper as I may seem at all times. I was a teenager once, and I'm still not an old lady." She smiled, taking a slightly larger gulp of the beer. It took her back briefly to her teenage years, but she came back pretty quickly. This was much better than those days. By far.
He laughed and said,"What a comforting thought... I suppose I'll have to come up with some more for you then, dearest..." He grinned, placing a few kisses on her lips and the last gently on her neck before he looked back up into her eyes. "I believe I'll take it as a compliment and instead try and persuade you to have more alcohol. Who knows what we could be like drunk?" He laughed slightly, sipping from his drink.
He smiled and said,"I couldn't think of anything you could be doing that was illegal. Besides, you don't seem a Death Eater, so I believe you're good. Unless you're killing or torturing people for fun, of course..." He grinned at her, sipping from his drink, and said,"I'm rather new to the Ministry here, though. I was in Australia for most of my earlier years. I loved it there, but they needed me here..." He shrugged and said,"So I came back. I don't mind it, though. I get to teach my favorite subject... And I've been reunited with my twin brother..." He took a small gulp and asked,"Do you have any siblings?"

"To death?" Braeden asked, one eyebrow remaining raised. "That's a... very strong word to use, don't you think?" He couldn't remember acting this way for a long while, either. Maybe never. He had never been a particularly sociable person, and he didn't suspect that he ever really would be. "I did, actually. You lot must be tougher than I reckoned..."
Brae took a few more gulps of the drink, finishing off the bottle and glancing over the alcohol-covered table. He chose another one, and flicked his wand at it, the metal cap pinging off and landing on the table with a bounce. "I bet you aren't. And of course you're not an old lady. Either that or my eyes have gone funny," he said, glancing at her, what she was wearing and what she looked like.
Meanwhile, somewhere further down the table, Adeline smiled as Darien kissed at her neck. She resisted the huge temptation to mutter something along the lines of, 'Mm, I like that, do that again' because of the amount of respectable staff members surrounding them, and said with a grin, "You don't have to persuade me, Darien."
Then she picked up her glass and took several large gulps, quite aware of the fact that champagne made you drunk incredibly fast because of the bubbles and so on, and she was drinking it awfully quickly. In fact, she was beginning to feel relaxed and happy already.

Ameera watched with her grey eyes, listening to what he was saying. "Yes, a brother...he lives in New Jersey, I was staying with him there for a year previously, then I got a job oppertunity here" She said, that was what gave her the interesting blend in accents. A sligh New Jersey accent in with the english one, which was now starting to get the same burr as the french had. A whole new accent! She smiled, and then took a sip of her white wine. Her consumption of it getting smaller and smaller, she didn't wish to have a spliting head ache in the morning.
"So he is your brother then...I would have never guessed" she said honestly. When it came to telling siblings, Ameera was horrible at it. Unless they were identical, almost looking alike to the point where they looked almost like the same person. A hand smoothed the ripples on the front of her creme dress. Ameera rather liked how it clung to her tall, slender form. She looked around herself, "Oh dear, seems everyone has paired off" She giggled, and pointed out the fact that nearly every female teacher had found a male teacher and were talking.

Elizabeth laughed and said,"Well, I'm glad to hear that... And I hope that your eyes haven't gone funny. That could spell trouble for any plans of holding off the old hag look for quite a few more decades..." She grinned, deciding the hell with it! She drained the rest of her beer and grabbed another one, popping off the cap quickly and tossing it onto the table. She took smaller gulps of it before looking up at him, wondering what he had thought of that little display.
Darien laughed and said,"So it would seem..." He set down his glass, now empty, and grabbed a beer. He popped the top and began to drink a little from it. "Ah... Much better. Alec is more the wine guy. I much prefer the beer..." He grinned, looking down at her with a smile. He couldn't wait until they were away from their colleagues. Then he could kiss her anytime he wanted to. And that thought reminded him of a movie titled 'Sweet Home Alabama' he had watched. It wasn't a bad movie, and that quote was a pretty good one, if he did say so himself...
Alec smiled and said,"Yeah. You wouldn't know unless one of us told you, huh?" He grinned as he sipped from his drink. He really didn't fancy getting drunk, and the hangovers were just terrible. There were times when he would get to a point, but he locked himself in his room on those days. He'd just sing and play the piano as he drank wine. "Well, it seems we have..." He glanced around, shaking his head slightly. This was an interesting bunch...
