Belle grinned at his offer and she glanced down, breaking off another piece of her cake and putting it in her mouth. "I'm okay. Thanks, though, and all." she replied, smiling and certainly not wanting to take his pie off him. That would have just been cruel. And she was really glad that she'd helped him like she had- she hadn't exactly known what to say, or if what she was saying was right. She was just winging it and trying her hardest, and apparently she'd done quite well.
The Head Girl's head tipped to one side at the seemingly random question, and she narrowed her eyes in curiousity. "Er... I don't think so. Who's Max?" What she really should have asked was what Max was, because at the moment she was thinking that he was a student at the school. One of Jon's other friends or a distant relative, or something. The Miette suddenly noticed the leaf in Jon's hair, and leaned forward to flick it gently with her fingers, before pulling it out and waving it around. "You had this in your hair."
She wasn't quite sure what to say in reply to Jon's last statement, so she just nodded and smiled at him.

He smiled and said,"Well, Max, or Maximus, is me and Faith's Golden Retriever. He's pretty fun to be around, always doing goofy things to make you laugh. And he loves fetch, be it a stick or one of your shoes, he loves it. He's even tried to play fetch with my wand before..." He laughed softly and said,"You should meet him sometime. He's great, really. Stays with Faith most of the time..." His eyes lowered for a moment as he added,"Saved her life during the attack, and very probably Aimee's as well..." He sighed a bit before taking a bite of his pie. Then he looked back up at her as she removed a leaf from his hair, he blinked a few times before a light blush crept into his cheeks as he laughed.
"Well, I feel silly now. I've been walking around with leaves in my hair all day... No wonder people have been giving me weird looks." He made a face and asked seriously,"Are there any more?" His fingers automatically went to his hair, running through it until he was content that it must be leaf-free. He laughed again and shook his head a little. "Well, thank you for de-leafing me. Probably saved me quite a few comments..." He grinned at her and said,"So, our last year of school's almost up..." He trailed off for a moment, looking down at his pie as he asked,"What are you going to do after we, you know, graduate? Are you going to leave? I've heard they're opening a University... Will you go there?"
He looked back up at her and took another bite of the pie, not really tasting this one; he was too focused on waiting for her answer.

Mirabelle laughed when Jon revealed to her who Max actually was. Oh, right! Dog. How random of him, really. "I get you." She laughed again. "I'd love to meet him- I've yet to really meet anyone else with a normal pet." Shaking her head, she grinned. "Not after Cal's panther gave me the shock of my life. I thought my cat Sweetheart was mildly frightening, but his..."
Belle smiled at his blush and the rest of his words, before she herself stood up and leaned over, fingers sifting through his dark hair to look for any other intruding objects that weren't supposed to be there. Neither student found anything, and the Head Girl finally sat back in her seat. "You're very welcome," she giggled in response to his thanks, doubting that anyone had really noticed the leaf when there had been the distressed boy to focus on instead.
At Jonathan's next question, Mirabelle shook her head, decided to be honest. She shrugged, with a weaker smile, and said truthfully, "I can't leave. I don't have anywhere else to go." This was precisely why she had been so over-joyed when the news that an actual university type place was opening reached her. "So yeah... university it is, for me!" She laughed lightly. "What about you? Are you staying on, or are you leaving at the end of the year?"

He contemplated her question for a moment, eyes lowering to the table and narrowing slightly as he mulled it over for a moment. Truthfully? He hadn't thought about it. Slowly, he spoke up. "Well, I suppose I'll stay on and go to the university... But I'll probably take a trip over the summer with Matt and the guys, then come back for classes and stuff in the fall..." He shrugged and smiled at her, looking back up now. "So I guess this isn't the last you'll see of me." He grinned before looking around for a clock and finding one behind the counter. He blinked a few times and said,"Oh..." After a moment's pause, he looked back at her and said,"I lost track of time, I guess... Um..."
He made a face, biting his lip for a second, before saying,"Listen, I should probably get going. I'm sure you have things to do, and truthfully, I think I'm just going to go to bed or something. It's been... Well, you know." He paused, searching hard for the words to what he wanted to say, and found them harder to come by than they should have been. "Belle, I really can't express how much you have helped me today. I mean, I doubt I could ever repay you, and for this, I'll probably owe you my life, because there's no telling what I would have done if you hadn't come along..." He trailed off as he got to his feet and looked at her sincerely for a moment before seeming to make up his mind.
He closed the space between them and gave her a small hug, kissing the top of her head before pulling away and saying,"I'll see you around, 'kay?" He smiled at her and took his things, dropping them in the waste bin as he left, looking back before the door closed behind him. Then he disappeared around the corner, heading back to the castle. It didn't take him too long to get back to his dorm and change, crawling into bed. He had managed to avoid seeing Roxy or anyone else for that matter, and now he just wanted to sleep for a few hours before maybe calling up Matt, Cove, and Adam and seeing if they wanted to meet up later at Adam's place and hang out. Because honestly, he needed their help with all of this...

Mirabelle waited for a moment, watching her friend think about what she'd asked, before she listened to his words. "Yeah," she said in agreement. "A holiday's a good idea. A good chance to get away from here and relax a little." She laughed slightly when Jon mentioned that it wouldn't be the last time she'd see him. "I'm glad," she told him, leaning back in her chair and watching as he looked up at the clock.
At Jonathan's words about the time, Belle looked over at it herself. They had been there for longer than she'd thought... "I- oh, okay," she said with a smile, still slightly stunned that the time had flew like that. Her smile grew at Jon's further thanks and she let her dark eyes rest on the table, feeling a slight blush grow. "Jon, it's fine," she said. "I wanted to help you. It's not something you can ever repay me for." She grinned as well, and stood up as he did.
The Intermise slid her thin arms around him as he hugged her, hugging him back until he moved away and spoke. "I... okay. See you around." She grinned at him when he was at the door and he looked back, before she slid back into her seat. Damn. It was true that, in fact, she didn't have anything much else to do. Jon had been good company; after she'd made him feel a little better, of course.
But he was the only company that she was going to get, because all her other friends were occupied. Emerald was off doing... Emerald-y things and swooning over Matt and everything that was happening with him. Tina had left. Roxie was... well. Probably doing something else highly stupid. Who else did she have? Better than that, what else could she even do? It wasn't her turn to patrol.
Back to reading in the common room it was...
