April decided not to say anything more about his family. "My sister does. Kaley. My brother went to another school and left a few years ago, he works in a muggle school now. Like I said, avoiding us. Though he went to visit our house today, he's staying so he can see Kaley and I when we go home for the holidays." She said, laying back so she was staring at the ceiling. She was so tired. She tried hard not to fall asleep, but her eyes kept drooping, making it seem impossible.
"You know, when my mum died, I thought that my life was so worthless. That my father suddenly stayed clear of us, he even threadtend to leave us and make Dylan -my brother- look after us, but he never did. Then the girlfriends started. Hannah, Alice, Martha, Mia, Claire." She listed them off with her fingers.

"I'm sorry, I know it's not my place to say, but your father sounds like a bit of an asshole..." Serphius said with a small cheeky smirk, glad that she hadn't started prying and asking awkward questions about his family. Once more, he glanced over at the clock. It was past one o'clock. Tempus fuget.
"Look, it's getting late. You look absolutely ready to drop. I s'pose I should offer to walk you back to your dorm, if you would allow me..."

"Um. Okay." She mumbled, grabbing the letter before standing up. She looked at it once more before offering a smile. "Thanks." She added, looking around. She remembered her letter to her father, but the more she thought about it the more she didn't want to reply. What was the point? He was probably having sex with Claire anyway.

The letter...To himself, he wondered quietly what it was about. April had read it a few times when they had been talking, but he didn't want to be rude and ask about it. After all, she'd been courteous enough to not ask about his family. Stiffly, he pulled himself to his feet, arms crossed over his skinny pale chest as though he was cold. Glancing at the books, he made a mental note to come back and put them back in the correct place. He knew how tetchy the librarian could get about her books.
"To the Fina common room? After you, madam, as I'm afraid I'm not really sure where to go!"

April smiled, knowing he was thinking about the letter. She handed it to him with a knowing grin and then headed out of the library, stopping for after a few paces to make sure he was following. After a few minutes she wondered if he would say anything about the letter. She hoped now.
When they got to the common room she turned, facing him. "Thanks for bringing me here, I know your shattered. I guess I'll see you around..." She held out a hand for the letter, hoping here friends were not going to ask her questions.

Serphius had been rather surprised when April had handed him the letter. As they were walking in relative slicence, he read it thoughtfully. It was carefully written and quite sweet short little letter, though to him it was obvious that she didn't mean what she had written. Out-side of the Fina Common Room door, he handed it gently back to her with a small smile, and glanced at the entrance. Asmodeus was in Fina, he thought.
"It was a pleasure meeting you," Serphius said, feeling suddenly quite awkward. Before he turned to leave, he added "I, er, will see you around, yeah...Goodnight, and God bless April..."
