Adam had two big gulps from the bottle, and said in response to the room comment, "I bet you do, as well. Bring me whatever you want, so long as it won't kill me in the immediate future. Surprise me." He leaned back on the sofa again, taking another sip and sighing contentedly.

Surprise him? Well, she had two bottle of schnapps, one strawberry, one peppermint which weren't particularly surprising, and a half bottle of absinthe which certainly was, but probably would kill him in the near future, as Charlie doubted he'd ever tried the stuff. Well, it would do.
Charlie pushed herself from the couch, wobbling quite a bit. Steadying herself, she quickly set off to wards the stairs, and ended up falling from site behind yet another couch.
"I'm alright, I'm okay!" Came the her muffled voice, and she sprang to her feet, laughing, and brushed herself off. She managed up the stairs with out any mishaps. Barely.
Five minutes later, Charlie re-appeared at the top of the stairs. Not only was she clutching a small bottle of vivid green liquid, but she had also changed out of her unflattering grey jumper. Now, she was wearing a little black satin cami, low cut, and trimmed with lace. She indicated to it, "I took your advice. The jumper was far too warm. Gots your little surprise right here..." She held up the small bottle as she came slowly down the stairs, careful not to fall flat on her face again. Slinking back over to the couch, she sat down beside him, and crossed her legs, giving him the bottle. "Absinthe. Now that will put some hair on your chest, that will. Just be careful how much of it you drink. If you drank that whole lil' bottle, you'd probably be dead in the morning, if you're not a regular drinker..."

"I would say I told you so," Adam said with a grin as he watched Charlie wobble slightly, before falling down flat behind a sofa. "but that would just be nasty, now wouldn't it?"
He sat silently, leaning back comfortably in the chair until she came back down. When she did, he looked at what she was wearing, and nodded approvingly with a smile. "That's better. Looks much more- what's that?" He noticed the bottle, and continued. "It looks like poison..." He listened to her speak, before saying in a slightly whiny voice, "I told you to bring me something that wouldn't kill me..."
He stared at her suspiciously as she sat down. "You can... stick to that if you want... Does it taste nice, though? We could put it in the schnapps - unless it'll, you know, explode if we do that - and give it a shake. We'd make... a whole new death experience! And who was it that said I wasn't creative..."

Charlie listen to the idea, and managed to keep a straight face for about five seconds, before she started to giggle, "This, my dear boy, is entirely for you. Well, not entirely. You are going to catch up with me, and that, straight, will do the job pretty damn well. And don't worry if you start seeing things. It's just the wormwood," Again, she laughed, and swapped bottles with him.
"Well, actually, it taste really quite bad. Bitter, and just not very nice. Your s'posed to drink it with a cube of...of...that white stuff, you know? And you pour...more stuff...water! That's it. You pour enough water over it for the other stuff to just...disappear! And then it tastes a bit better. I drink it when I'm sad. You'd be s'prised how often I get sad. I am actually a very, very sad....sad...girl!"

Adam looked down curiously at the little bottle she had given him, and suspiciously tipped a drop onto his finger, and licked it off. There was no way he was gulping away at that without knowing what it was like. Call him a wimp, whatever. Hey, he was one, most of the time... He made a face, as the bitter taste entered his mouth.
When she spoke about the taste, he spluttered with indignant laughter. "Thanks for warning me before hand! And... you talking about sugar, there? The white stuff?" He raised an eyebrow. "You get sad often? Why? You're a very good actress, 'cause I wouldn't have guessed..."
{Bleh.}

When Adam mentioned the sugar she held up a finger, "Sugar! That's it, that's the stuff right there...Sugar. If you're drinking it Bohemian, you soak the sugar cube in alcohol, set it on fire, drop it in the absinthe - which goes whoosh up in flames - then you pour enough water in it to put out the flames." She said, quite matter of factly - not that it was anything important, "And I am a sad girl, because I have a reason to be sad, which is my very sad life and stuff. And yes, I am a good actress - thank you! See, told you you were...thingy. Sweet. Yeah, sweet."

"Sadly, we don't have any sugar. Well, I don't, anyway. You're full of surprises." Adam raised his eyebrows. "Your... very sad life? Okay... You're welcome, of course. And yes, I must say that I am sweet. Sweet as that... white stuff. Damn, what's the stuff called again?" He grinned, watching her in amusement.
{VERY bleh.}

"Shame on you Adam! You just tease me now. You know very well that 's sugar, yesh. And sweet as you may be, you're still to sober for my likings! Bottoms up?" Charlie held aloft the bottle of peach schnapps, and took a long, satisfying drink of it, before, letting it rest back in her lap, licking the sweetness from her lip, "Mm, very tasty, yes?"

"I don't tease. Teasing is nasty. Teasing is what big kids do to little kids when they take their pencil and waggle it about in front of them." He pretended to sniff. "I know. I've experienced that particular form of teasing. I'm a flirting teaser. I mean no harm. I come in peace, man, I swear! There's a difference, honestly."
"Tasty? Why, I don't know. I forget. You have to pour it into my mouth, or at least give me a slight taste of it to refresh my positively awful memory... Plus, doing that, you make me more drunk... Which gives you freedom to do whatever you want. Which makes everybody happy, right?"

Charlie raised and eyebrow at Adam, a sly smirk playing on her lips, "I can do anything I want? Now, that is a very dangerous thing to say..." She grinned wickedly. She leaned closer to Adam, still grinning, until she was very close to him, pushing up against him even. "You want a taste, yes?" Charlie held the neck of the bottle close to his lips, "Take some then!"

"So I've heard..." Adam replied to the first thing she said, eyes flickering to her own for a second before glancing over her face as she came closer. "That I do..." He gently prised her fingers from the bottle, taking a big drink of it as she had before, feeling pleasantly relaxed, if a little dizzy.

Charlie grinned, and leaned back to her original position, "So, I guess you don't want this then?" She held up the bottle of absinthe, cocking her head slightly as she asked, "We could swap, and it'll all go down hill from there..." Charlie laughed.
"Or...or should I go back up stairs, and put this away, bring more schnapps?"

"Nah, I don't think so. Don't go away, either..." Adam said as she held up the little bottle and leaned back. "But... yes, I think bringing more of this dellllightful little drink is wonderful idea. And you could do another one of those little surprise dress changes, too. Or dress removal, but, again, you're not drunk enough yet, are you?" He grinned, smirk gracing his features.
