Elizabeth had been experiencing some strange things lately. For the past few weeks she'd been puking her guts out. It was nearing Thanksgiving, and she was already gaining weight, though with all this added stress, she should be losing it all. She decided it was time to pay a visit to Emilia. Afterall, her being sick wasn't a good thing, especially since she needed to teach her students. So here she was, outside the hospital wing. She opened the door, looking around. There were still a few students recovering from the attacks...
She walked over to one, whom she knew to be rather intelligent. It was Caliban Leandros, a fine student and role model, yet it seemed that he was still far too weak to leave the hospital wing. She had seen Adam and Anastasia MacKeltar constantly visiting him lately, and she had been sympathetic to them both. To them, he was family, and she understood that, even if she didn't have much of her own. She looked down at him, seeing the bandages still in place. He didn't seem to be getting much better. Had he even woken up? She'd ask Emilia once she came down to this end of the ward. She didn't want to call for her; she didn't want to wake the patients, afterall.
((If you feel like it, Katie, after we finish with Lizzie, this can be the Belle/Cal thread or something...))

For the first time since the night of the attack, Emilia felt calm. Most of the patients were doing well, and all were quiet. All she could say was God bless those pain-killing potions. Her attention was caught as she heard the Hospital Wing doors swing open, then shut, and she stuck her head out of her office curiously.
It was Professor James. Emilia nodded at her in greeting, and beckoned her over to the office. She highly doubted something was seriously wrong with the woman, so the office would be the best place for her to ask her questions. That way, the patients wouldn't be woken, either.

Elizabeth looked up as Emilia peaked out, and she smiled at the healer. She made her way over, slipping into her office and closing the door behind her. "Hey. Sorry to bother you... I've just been having a few problems lately, and I knew you could probably help me to figure out what it is..." She smiled at her, looking out of the blinds at the patients. She turned back to her and said,"And how is Caliban? Is he getting better?"
((-.-;; Crapp-ness to the max.))

As Elizabeth entered, Emilia sat back comfortably in the chair by her desk, motioning for her visitor to sit in the other. "You're not bothering me; I haven't been as busy seen as everything calmed down." She nodded, shrugging slightly. "What's been happening to you? I'm sure I can help." She smiled in response to the Professor's, and glanced the same way as she spoke.
"Ahh, Caliban. He is getting better, but very slowly. His cuts and gashes are healing, so it's important he moves as little as he can, and he keeps coming and going from consciousness. 'Well enough for visitors,' his two friends tell me." She smiled fondly. "There's no stopping those two getting in. The girl and the boy... MacKeltars, are they? He means very much to them."

Elizabeth smiled and sat down, nodding as she spoke of Cal. "That's good." She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "All of this has been so difficult for all of us... How's Darien? And Adeline? I know she's been taking all of this very hard..."
She then waited for a bit, giving Emilia time to answer, before she said,"Well, the reason I'm here is that I've been feeling very strange lately. I've been throwing up at least once a day. I've been so tired lately... It's hard to try and keep up with my classes and everything else. I've had headaches that just won't go away, my back is aching. It's mostly my lower back, but nothing helps. Do you have any idea what it could be? I mean, is it just a bad cold or the flu, or do you think it's something more serious?"
((Heh. Got all those from a website... ))

Emilia nodded. "It must have been terrible, the attack. Darien's still... bad, but he's coming along, you have to say. He's getting better." She nodded again at the last part. "Yeah, but Del's actually been taking everything better than I thought she would. She's only properly panicked a couple of times, and she's even getting Aurors in, she tells me. That's a smart move..."
Emilia thought for a moment, listening to Elizabeth, then said, "It could be a cold, or flu, but I would seriously expect you to be in bed if it was flu. Nasty little bugger, that." She shook her head "It could have been bought on by stress, of course, but there's a couple of other things it could be, too..." She trailed away, and met the professor's eyes, the sighed, pause over, and continued. "Or... you could be in the early stages of pregnancy."

She nodded slightly, remembering the blood and screams. "It was. There was blood everywhere... I'd be surprised if they'd finished cleaning the dormitories up by now..." She smiled weakly. "It's good to know he's coming along. And that Adeline's taking it better... I just hope he pulls through soon. I think it scares the students more that a professor was almost killed. It's certainly hard on all of us. He was a friend..." She shook her head slightly.
When Emilia began to run through a list, she nodded. "Yes, that's what I thought. The flu normally puts you in bed. Stress, I could understand, but I've been extremely stressed before and this has never happened..." There was a pause, and she looked at the healer. "Pr - Pregnant?! Oh, no. I haven't..." She stopped, her eyes widening slightly, and her hand moved to cover her mouth. "Oh God. But... how? It was only one night... I mean, how is that possible?" She finally looked back at her. "Is there... Is there a way to... know for sure?" She had to know.

"I actually think they might have," Emilia mused vaguely, before continuing. "Mm. He'll pull through; but I doubt it'll be soon." She smiled reassuringly. "But it will be sometime in the foreseeable future."
The more pregnancy was mentioned, the more Emilia was sure that that was it. Throwing up, back aches... it all made sense. "Yes..." she murmured. "It's possible. Did you use any kind of protection at all? The spell's your best bet, because the Muggle way often fails..." It was a bit late to be giving advice on contraception now, but still.
Emilia stood up, and walked over to a book case next to her desk, against the wall. "There's a test you can take, but you have to do the charm yourself. I have a book somewhere that contains all the information you need to perform the spell, if I could just find the damn thing..." She grabbed a thin book from the bottom shelf and took it over to Elizabeth, leafing through the feathery pages until she apparently found the one she was looking for.
"Here, it's that paragraph there. Just do the wand gesture over your stomach and say the word and BAM. Your wand'll either go pink - positive - or blue- negative." She stopped talking and sat back in her chair.

Her eyes widened slightly, and her hand came up to cover her mouth, which had parted. "Oh... Oh." She shook her head slightly and lowered her hand slowly as she whispered,"We didn't... We didn't even think about it. Of course, there was plenty of alcohol involved..." She listened and took the book, looking at it. She waved her wand in the way it had instructed and waited patiently before it slowly turned into a vibrant pink. She took a shaky breath and breathed,"It's true... Oh, God..."
((Le crap, but you get the idea. Late and I'm running on approximately 6 hours of sleep a night for multiple weeks. Which means I'm just dead right now. -.-;; Almost died last night from nearly falling off my bed sitting and doing my homework 'cause I woulda hit a table with my head... *mumbles and drags herself to bed*))

“You didn’t…” Emilia nodded understandingly, and watched the wand turn pink and glow with some surprise, but not so much. The symptoms had all been there, after all. “Hrm. Well… the first things you should do, I suppose, is pay the father a visit, if you're planning on keeping the babies.” She leaned forward slightly, and said, “And I’m asking this unprofessionally, as a friend, but… do we know who it is?”
Her head turned to look out her office as the main door to the wing burst open. A blonde girl that she knew to be called Belle flew in, her feet rushing to the office as fast and quietly as she could. There was a knock.
{Thur. Belle. xDDD}

She took a deep, shaky breath and said,"Yes... There's only one possibility... Only one..." She rubbed her face in her hands. "I have no idea what I'm going to tell him..." She looked at her and said,"Thank you, Emilia... But now I have to go and figure out what I'm going to say. I hope you understand, but I need to tell him first... He deserves at least that..." She gave her a weak smile and headed for the door, hearing a knock. She said,"I suppose I'll be seeing you a lot, hmm? I'll be in touch..." She opened the door and looked at Belle, smiling, and slipping out of the office and out of the hospital wing.
((xD Okay, so I'll have her leave and then we can just do the Belle/Cal thread in here?))

Emilia nodded. "That's good. And of course I understand." She smiled back. "You will, of course. I'll see you soon." She gave the professor the smallest of waves as she left, then welcomed Belle into her office with a wave. "Yes, Miss Miette. What can I do for you?"
The girl paused for a moment, as if she was wondering whether to say what she wanted or just make a run for it. When she finally spoke, her voice was scratching and sore-sounding, and she said, "Uh... I've come to see Caliban Leandros?" It was more of a question than anything else, and she seemed to be asking if he was here rather than if she could see him.
"Of course." Emilia stood, and led the grateful-looking Intermise out into the corridor. "He's in the bed surrounded by the curtains, and he's still very ill, so... just please be careful."
Mirabelle nodded a swallowed nervously. She began to move when Emilia disappeared back into her office, and carefully pulled back the curtain when she'd reached Cal's bed. She gasped. "Oh sweet jesus... Cal?" Could he hear her? See her? She didn't even know if he was awake.

Visions swam before his eyes as he slept. He had no idea how long it had been or entirely what had even happened. All he remembered was the pain and the screams. He wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't anymore. There were always voices surrounding him... But he could never make them out. Bits and pieces of conversation would drift over to him, but he could never catch all of it, and soon it had slipped from his grasp. He just couldn't wake up, so he slept on.
It had been a while after the attack, and he felt a new presence. This one hadn't been there yet. He heard the words that were uttered from a female's vocals, and he longed to be able to open his eyes and see his visitor. "Oh sweet jesus... Cal?" He was so weak and still so tired. It took everything he had to keep up the fight to stay alive... And strangely, there were only two things he could think of: who was feeding Niko, and was Mirabelle okay. He remembered the attack, and it haunted him in this coma of his. It was torture every day. He would toss and turn, and then he would feel some very nasty liquid sliding down his throat before all would go black and he would relax, falling into a deep sleep.
He knew he was in the hospital wing. Where else would he be? Students had come in and out. He had gathered that he wasn't the only one here, however, from his random moments he was conscious. This was one of those times. He had known Professor James had been here, and now he had a newer visitor. He was curious who it was, but he couldn't tell from just one sentence. He tried to move anything, even a finger, but he couldn't. It was too much. Damn it! This was so frustrating! So he laid there, helpless, and waited for them to speak again. He hoped they stayed... He was always so lonely here, and he couldn't stand it any more...
((xD Didn't want him to wake up fully just yet. ^^))
