"C'est la vie, eh? What does your dad work as? And what's it like in Italy? I've heard it's quite nice. It's one of the few places that would tempt me to go a-wondering world wide." Asmodeus said casually, shrugging as well.

"My dad? Yeah. There's the thing. I don't know, he's never told us. It must be something dodgy, I've always thought, but whatever it is, it's costs me my friends whenever we have to suddenly move. I's alright in Italy. I never really got to see the scenery much, with school, and I was made to stay at school for a couple of holidays."

Asmodeus nodded sympathetically, "Harsh...That must be really hard on you - and not even getting an explanation why you're getting shunted about. That's pretty unfair. Oh, and shame about not getting to see much of Italy. I hear it's a very beautiful country."

"I suppose it would seem so to most people, but I sort of got used to it, if you know what I mean. I promised myself that I wouldn't make friends with anybody wherever I went, so that it wasn't so hard to leave." Adelle smiled. "I guess I just broke that promise. But my father says - well, my mother told me that he said - we won't have to move again for a while, unless something big happens." She shrugged.

Asmodeus nodded again, understandingly this time, "Yes. Sometimes I think it would just be easier on everything just to - to like, lock yourself in a room and never come out or something. But that would be silly. You need friends and partners, and stuff..."

Adelle listened to what he said, and agreed. "Yes. But it would be silly, you're right. Where would you be without someone to talk to, or be with? Down Boredom Alley, that's where." She giggled suddenly. "I made 'Boredom Alley' up, by the way. It's not an old saying. Just so you know."

A small grin spread on Asmodeus' lips at her childish humor, "Oh, er, I think I got that part." He laughed softly, letting his gaze wander around the beautiful garden, then back to Adelle. "So do you like it here? Where has been your favourite place?"

Adelle nodded. "Good." She grinned. "I love it here. It's a great school. If I had to choose my favourite places, I'd say... Here, in the garden with all th flowers, in the museum, because of the peace and quiet in there, and the waterfall, which I might visit this afternoon if I get the chance."

Asmodeus smirked slightly. It wasn't actually what he meant, but still, it was something to talk about, "Yeah, I love the gardens too. I think it reminds me of my childhood a little bit. But then again, there's also the fact that it's just so peaceful, and beautiful. The flowers are wonderful. And every now and again, you just might be lucky enough to...stumble upon an exceptionally....lovely specimen...."
Asmodeus flashed a small charming smile at Adelle.

"Really? Did you have a garden at home? We didn't... My parents were too busy to tend to it properly." Adelle listened as he paused slightly at the last bit he said, and cocked her head to one side and smiled back up at him. "Yes... of course. You're right."

"Oh yes, we had grounds. They were massive! Acres, and acres. Of course, not all of it was tended gardens, that was mainly just round the house. We had gorgeous rose gardens, two of them, and a large maze, with a little Summer house in the middle. That was my favourite place, because no one else could get to it very often. I knew all the little short cuts, and holes in the hedge..." He smiled to himself as he remembered all about it. He missed the gardens, and the maze. To him, the school's garden was a feeble replacement.

"Wow. I know people who have something like that. See, sometimes my family would go to England, and we'd go and stay in the countryside with my dad's old friends. They've got this massive old-fashioned cottage with loads of rooms, God, it's beautiful. They've loads of land, like a meadow filled with daisies, a lake, and this wood. In the wood was a little mini-cottage with two beds, a table, a rocking-chair and a fire-place in it. My brother and I used to go sleep in there all the time, or take one of those tiny tents that looks massive inside into the meadow. It was fantastic," Adelle said, nodding vigorously.

"I always wanted a lake, but we only ever had a little ornamental pond thing. It was rubbish. We had a little wood aswell. It was small, only about half an acre. I loved to go marauding around there when I was very little. Great fun. I was the outdoors one of the three children. My sister, she was usually in the parlor with my Mama. Mama always wanted her to grow up to be a proper lady, and do proper lady things. She failed spectacularly. My brother, on the other hand, he was always in the library, or just lurking around in the shadows, really. He was always like that - still is. It's quite sad." Asmodeus said, almost shrugging, "So, does your brother go to this school?"
